Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

@sheba2011. Hello and good afternoon I hope this finds you feeling better today. It’s a cloudy day here with a promise of rain. Yet so far it just thunders and and nothing happens. I hope you and your family have a good rest of the afternoon.

Sheba, I hope all is okay in Oz and you are just very busy. It is unlike you not to post in 24 hours. You know how I worry. Sending love and hugs.🤗💖

Good Morning,
Today is supposed to be a “cool” 103. Fires continue to burn, but sadly it has become a “usual” summer happening here in CA. But, my Savior & Lord Jesus makes all thing beautiful in His time. Beautiful blessings to you & yours. -
What a lovely picture!

Sheba, glad you had a good laugh. I see you are prepping with 9 more days to go… Good work and lovely jewelry as ever!!!
Hiked some hills today and watched some Olympics. Was fortunate enough to get some tickets to a few events in track at the ‘ 84 Olympics.

That’s the treadmill. Love the fact that there is a handle and it folds so that the entire machine fits under the bed. I also checked around and found prices are less for the same item and it includes free shipping. I will wait until we return to Florida before making final decisions.
Hubby is doing great. There is weakness in the right side which will clear. Every day has seen more improvement. I just cannot believe the difference from ten days ago. I eat two meals with him each day.. As far as heading north, I’m looking at the middle of September if he is up to it. Actually we will play that one by ear.
I know people think highly of Uber, but me, I am not all impressed. They absolutely refused my credit cards even after following several of their links. On top of that there is no customer service person to speak with. Everything could have been avoided . So now I am using lyfts. And what a difference in price. My only problem was a couple of nights ago when it was impossible to find a driver At midnight finally found another firm to return me to the motel. However, it is through Lyft’s that I found someone for pick up and return on a daily basis.
No I am not cleaning ( lol).. Guess that will start all over again when we return. Laundry will be the top priority. It also looks like we may have a home health aide as well. That should keep him out of mischief.maybe once and for all I will be able to get the hose finally in order.
By the way did you see my post from last night about the rainbow????

It is hot and muggy in Georgia as well. However , tomorrow will be worse in that no rain expected. I just read where the hospitals in our area of Florida are almost at capacity. Garbage pickup is now non existent. Oh well. Things could be a Lot worse.
I went to therapy school with hubby today. When we left his room, he was a bit shaky. On the return no shakes. We will need a wheel chair but only if he’s tired. The big wheels come off, thus making it lighter weight. He will need the extra chair to go over the throne and a chair for the shower. I have a feeling he will not need these things for long. He is scheduled to leave a week from tomorrow. Tonight will check the route along with the hotels and restaurants. More later.

Beyond Reacting
Remembering to pause and take a breath before we react, can shift the energy of the outcome.
We have all had the experience of reacting in a way that was less than ideal upon hearing bad news, or being unfairly criticized, or being told something we did not want to hear. This makes sense because when our emotions are triggered, they tend to take center stage, inhibiting our ability to pause before we speak. We may feel compelled to release the tension by expressing ourselves in some way, whether it’s yelling back at the person yelling at us, or rushing to deliver words of comfort to a friend in trouble. However, there is much to be said for teaching ourselves to remember to pause and take a deep breath before we respond to the shocks and insults that can come our way in life.
For one thing, our initial response is not always what’s best for us, or for the other people involved. Reacting to childish rage with childish rage will only escalate the negativity in a situation, further ensnaring us in an undesirable dynamic. Similarly, when we react defensively, or simply thoughtlessly, we often end up feeling regret over our words or actions. In the end, we save ourselves a lot of pain when we take a deep breath and really tune in to ourselves, and the other person, before we respond. This doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t say anything, although in some cases, that may be the best option.
Some situations require a fairly immediate response, but even just a moment of grounding ourselves before we do so can help enormously. The next time you find yourself wanting to react, try to pause, and in that pause, take a deep breath. Feel your feet on the floor, the air on your skin, and listen for a response to arise within you, rather than just going with the first thing that pops into your head. You may find that in that moment, there is the potential to move beyond reaction and into the more subtle and creative realm of response, where something new can happen. 😎🌹

Hi in hot Oz from hot in the ‘burgh – sunny and around 90 today.🌞🔥 One more day and we should cool down. Glad you are feeling better. 😊 Take it easy today so you don’t get a relapse.
Getting ready to head out to my SIL’s for the afternoon and evening. My niece and her family are in from Georgia so we will have dinner with them. Figured I better say hi now because I’m not sure what time I will get home. Mom is hanging in there.🤗

@ Sheba2011, Good Day to you and your family. I hope your sinus headache is gone. The day here is cloudy but very hot. I did a little yard work yesterday, I mean very little. Too hot for everything else, I think I lost two pounds in sweat.
