Hi. I made a light lunch using the salmon in a can from Costco. I usually use bok choy in a salad, but have not visited our Farmer’s Market where they not only sell the regular bok choy, but the babies as well. However, I did have a couple of Vidalia onions in the frig and cut a few slices to put into the salad. I then add mayo and sweet relish. Yum……..Yes, you can use celery instead of the bok choy. Oh, almost forgot. Added raw cashews.

By the way, forgot to mention. Aldi’s has the Dragon Fruit. $2.99 each. I was there on Monday after the plumber’s left. Only problem, it was during a severe thunderstorm and the check out process with a credit card was non existent. So, the only things I could purchase with cash were two containers of strawberries and Romaine lettuce.

We had a phone call from Care Angels today. However, when I contacted them, found they do not go through our Health Insurance or Medicare. They only use long-term insurance. or Medicaid. Have no idea who recommended them, but contacted our doctor’s office anyway.

I will be making lamb chops in our air fryer tonight. I experimented with corn that was on sale before we headed North for $.10 ea.. Because hubby bought too many, I made a couple and froze the rest. For freezing the recipe called for removing the husks and blanching in boiling hot water. I bypassed that step and took a chance by leaving the husks on and freezing fresh. It seemed a little watery after thawing. However, once I removed the husks and cleaned the silk away and then rinsed I put them into boiling water and they firmed right up. Not only that, but the color changed to a just bought yellow. Amazing😀😀😀😀😀😀

Guess we are moving to fall. It’s a few minutes past 7pm and it is getting dark. A storm??? Or, is nightfall that early now???? Oh well. Got to put the garbage out and I want to do it while there is still some day left.

Hot in Oz, hot in the ‘burgh.🔥 Weather channel says 96 tomorrow, not my cup of tea. Thunderstorms today, tomorrow and Friday, could be severe.🌩🌪 Keeping all body parts crossed as my husband leaves tomorrow until late afternoon Sunday.

Ran out this morning to get candles and stop for a few items at the grocery store. Twice in the last two weeks someone asked or mentioned Jake. I immediately teared up and really couldn’t talk. Not sure how long this will last. I guess if I ever had to do an acting job that included crying, I’ll know exactly how to do it.😪 You are welcome to blow kisses any time you want, I do it all day long.😘💗

Keep cool any way you can.🥶 I have tea, soda, sparkling water and wine in my fridge – take your pick.

Poetry as Meditation

Sculpting your thoughts into a poem can take you on a journey where your conscious mind is momentarily cast adrift.

The creation of any kind of art can be as much a form of meditation as a vehicle for self-expression. Energetically splashing colors of paint onto a canvas can be like casting the weight of the world off your shoulders, while raising your voice to hit the high notes of a song can inspire you to release your fears so you can reach new heights in your own life. And then there is the act of meditation that can take place when you create poetry. Sculpting your thoughts and emotions into a poem can take you on a journey into your inner universe where your conscious mind is momentarily cast adrift.

Like other forms of meditation, writing poetry requires that you stay fully present during the process, rather than focusing on any outcome. In doing so, you release any inhibitions or ideas of “what needs to happen,” so that your thoughts can flow freely through you. When you write poetry, you are able to see the reflections of your innermost self imprinted on a page.

If you’d like to experience poetry as a meditation practice, you might want to try this exercise: Set aside twenty minutes where you can be alone in a quiet space. You may want to look at poems other people have written to see if there is a style of poetry you would like to try. You can also try writing in freeform. The structure of the poem will then organically reveal itself to you. When you are ready, sit down with pen and paper and let the words flow. Don’t think about what you are going to say next, and don’t worry about spelling, grammar, or logic. Instead, be as descriptive, visually precise, rhythmic, or lyrical as you want to be. When you feel complete, put the pen down, and read over what you’ve written. Appreciate this work of art you have created. You may even find that thoughts and emotions you had repressed before are now making themselves known so you can process and release them. Writing poetry as a form of meditation lets you slow down your mind long enough for you to get out of your own way, so that your soul can freely express its deepest yearnings. ✨😎💕
