Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction
Song by The Rolling StonesI can’t get no satisfaction, I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no
When I’m drivin’ in my car, and the man come on the radio
He’s tellin’ me more and more about some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can’t get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That’s what I say
I can’t get no satisfaction, I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no
When I’m watchin’ my TV and a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But, he can’t be a man ’cause he doesn’t smoke
The same cigarettes as me
I can’t get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That’s what I say
I can’t get no satisfaction, I can’t get no girl reaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no
When I’m ridin’ ’round the world
And I’m doin’ this and I’m signin’ that
And I’m tryin’ to make some girl, who tells me
Baby, better come back maybe next week
Can’t you see I’m on a losing streak?
I can’t get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That’s what I say, I can’t get no, I can’t get no
I can’t get no satisfaction, no satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction
I can’t get no -
Paint It Black
Song by The Rolling StonesI see a red door
And I want it painted black
No colors anymore
I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by
Dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head
Until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars
And they’re all painted black
With flowers and my love
Both never to come back
I’ve seen people turn their heads
And quickly look away
Like a newborn baby
It just happens everyday
I look inside myself
And see my heart is black
I see my red door
I must have it painted black
Maybe then, I’ll fade away
And not have to face the facts
It’s not easy facing up
When your whole world is black
No more will my green sea
Go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing
Happening to you
If I look hard enough
Into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me
Before the morning comes
I see a red door
And I want it painted black
No colors anymore
I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by
Dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head
Until my darkness goes
I wanna see it painted
Painted black
Black as night
Black as coal
I wanna see the sun
Blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted
Painted black, yeah -
She’s A Rainbow
Song by The Rolling StonesShe comes in colours everywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colours in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colours
She comes in colours everywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colours in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colours
Have you seen her dressed in blue?
See the sky in front of you
And her face is like a sail
Speck of white so fair and pale
Have you seen a lady fairer?
She comes in colours everywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colours in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colours
Have you seen her all in gold?
Like a queen in days of old
She shoots her colours all around
Like a sunset going down
Have you seen a lady fairer?
She comes in colours everywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colours in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colours
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colours in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colours -

@sheba2011, Good Afternoon to you. How are you doing and how is your day? You said you had chores calling you, I hope you were able to get them done. I just cleaned up in the kitchen and got my husband’s dinner ready so when he comes in its warm and ready to eat. . It’s a hot day and the humidity makes the temperature feel as if is 100 degrees. I didn’t feel very good yesterday but today it’s even worse. The left side of my chest is sore, in bed this morning and I was so dizzy the room was going around so fast. I would close my eyes and still would be spinning around. After a while I went back to sleep. I am still somewhat a bit dizzy but nothing like this morning. I feel tired, I think it’s the left over from me being outside doing some yard work on Sunday. It’s funny but I feel on my face being tired, and I look it too. Sheba take care.

The diet for hubby is very similar to what I have been following for my sulfite allergy. Many of the breads in Florida are made with corn starch and corn syrup which are no nos. I read all labels even on things I have previously purchased. Seems manufacturers change there recipes from time to time. Since we both enjoy pizza and Italian food, there are many restaurants that follow diets for gluten free. The bread is usually prepared with almond flour and the crust could be that or cauliflower. I will be making almond flour bread and cakes with that and no sugar or a sugar substitute when possible. Some of the no nos include the breads we see in stores including Trader Joe’s, pasta, potatoes, white rice, etc.. We will do this cold turkey beginning Thursday since tomorrow is hubby’s day. Cold turkey means no restaurants, no take outs for a six week period. His next appointment with the physician is in October. We do know the routine for our blood tests and do fast for at least 12 hours prior. Hubby has not been very high in sugar, just borderline. However, he has been cheating with the orange juice from Aldi’s which he enjoys. This will be off limits for at least six weeks. From now on we will make our own juice which is better for him or to eat fresh. There are tons of preservatives in the juice on shelves. Did you know that the juice sits on a shelf in the manufacturer’s plant for at least six months prior to you seeing it in the refrigerator aisle of a grocery store. YUK, who would want that??? Also fish must be caught wild. I always check the frozen package for additional things that are not on my diet. I cannot purchase dried fruit, frozen veggies, frozen meats, etc.. I purchase organic occasionally. The Gluten free products you see on shelves called Red something is not always true. One needs to do their homework before grabbing. This goes for cereals as well. Any carb is a no no. Though I mentioned potatoes, I do purchase because they are high in potassium. I usually buy the yellow or sweet. Most veggies are OK. However the fall ones are sometimes questionable. The diet does work, Best part is seeing the results at the doctor’s office and the grin on his face when we did it without meds.
Guess what, we are now off to Costco. Yeah
. Found out I am highly allergic to Aldi’s water. Pepto and me are now real close friends. Not the way you want to live your life. Reminds me of the time we were in Tucson, AZ and I drank the water at the hotel. Hubby said try it with ice. Not a good time. We took a tour to Mexico. We were told not to drink the water. I did. It was fine. Go figure. Have a great day. It’s in the mid 90s here with a chance of storms. Ocean temp is 87. Warmer than a bathtub.

Loved the quotes and the dog and kitten.
I had a doberman many, many years ago – his name was Dillinger.

Good afternoon, getting hotter by the day and all through the weekend.
I am like you, I need a breather.
Got my haircut today and my husband is getting sandwiches from Subway – too hot to cook. Gas lines are being replaced along my road and they are digging in front of my neighbor’s driveway today so all traffic is backed up in front of my house.
Jake would be barking all day.
Join me for a cool one later this evening.
Love ya!

Spoiling Our Children
Spoiling our children with new things stems from our feeling of lack in our own childhood.
One of the greatest things about children is that they have the ability to entertain themselves for long periods of time with something as simple as a cardboard box, a container, or a set of measuring spoons. It makes you wonder why we feel the need to buy them so many toys that they won’t even have time to play with them all before they grow out of them. Often, if we take the time to question our compulsion to constantly give our children new toys and clothes, and to spoil them with food that is not even good for them, we will find that we are trying to fill up the space to avoid our own difficult feelings and pain. If you feel yourself wanting to spoil your child with material possessions, take a moment and see if you can feel where your motivation is coming from.
We may be inundating our children with things they don’t need out of our own desire to create a feeling of abundance that was lacking in our own childhood, or out of a need to feel liked by our children. Both of these motives tend to be unconscious, stemming from unresolved issues from our own upbringing or even our adult life. These unresolved feelings naturally come up when we find ourselves in the role of a parent, often as our child reaches the age we were when these traumas were most pronounced. Spoiling your children will not save you or make your pain disappear, only acknowledging and working on your emotional issues can do that. What our children really need us to provide for them is both a sense of safety and a sense of freedom and love of which there can never be too much. If we are able to do this well, material possessions need not take center stage.
We all want to provide our children with a good and happy life, but most of us know deep down that material possessions play a very small role. We confuse our children when we seek to make them happy through buying them things. When we do this, they take our cue that happiness comes in the form of toys and treats, rather than in the joy of being alive, surrounded by love, and free to explore the world.
