Conversation – 16

Hello Sheba, how is your day? Today we had sunshine, rain, sunshine again that’s Florida. The devastation Ida caused is enormous, both down in the South and up North. As I watched the news up North is just unbelievable. And the fires in California, that too is devastating. Mother Nature is warning, screaming out to us. Sheba that’s a beautiful wreath, I wish I had those lovely leaves I do have the pumpkins though. I made Madeleine better today, its cooling and resting in the refrigerator for later to be baked. Last night I made sesame cookies for me with brown sugar and a separate batch for my husband with his sugar substitute. I known you must be enjoying the cooler temperatures, soon you will welcome Autumn. I remember you saying it’s your favorite time of the year. Take care Sheba.

Being Your Own Village

Sometimes we need to be our own village by utilizing all of our skills and learning more.

Simple survival requires us to be in possession of many skills. The pursuit of dreams requires many more. Most individuals rely on the support of a village, whether peopled by relatives or community members, to effectively address the numerous ways we need assistance. This can mean anything from asking favors of acquaintances and leaning on loved ones for support to paying a skilled artisan to handle specialized tasks. However, each human being is born with the capacity to be their own village. We embody many roles throughout our lifetimes, all of which are representative of our capacity for self-sufficiency and self-determination. In different moments in our lives, we are our own counselor, janitor, caregiver, cook, healer, teacher, and student. Our willingness to joyfully take on these roles grants us the power to maintain control over the direction our life’s journey takes.

In times past, human beings learned all of the skills needed for survival. Today, the majority of people specialize in a single discipline, which they hone throughout their lives. Thus, many of us feel uncomfortable standing at the helm of our own existence. We question our ability to make decisions concerning our own health, happiness, and welfare, and are left feeling dependent and powerless. But the authority to take ultimate responsibility for our lives is simply a matter of believing that we have the necessary faith and intelligence to cope with any circumstance the universe chooses to place in our path. Proving that we can each be our own villages through action enables us to accept that we are strong enough to exist autonomously. Cooking, cultivating a garden of fruits and vegetables, undertaking minor home repair, or adopting a healthier lifestyle can help you reassert your will.

Being your own village does not mean embracing isolation, for a balanced life is built upon the dual foundations of the inner and the outer villages. Rather, being your own village is a celebration of your wondrous inner strength and resourcefulness, as well as an acknowledgment of your innate ability to capably steer the course of your life. ✨😎 Amen!

Lady how are you in the ‘burgh? I just saw some of the news and the storm has hit your

There is so much news on the Telly I am taking a a much needed break. I am keeping busy
so I don’t cry so much. Some days I am overwhelmed today I am doing alright I have been
talking to my cousins about their mother the waves Taci the waves. Oh my butterfly came
to hug me this morning I know it was my father. ✨

Taci seeing that butterfly made me feel better. Hey enjoy the trails where ever they lead
you. How is your son and husband doing? Enjoy the view today. 😘

Good day on the Gulf Coast. ✨I hope the rain ease up a bit and not be too much too soon.
Oodie I am so grateful to have a close family we have always been that way. ✨🌹

This is the third family member I have lost since the Covid-19 Pandemic. Oodie times
are different all we can do is adjust. Oz is very nice today we do have rain on the radar.

I am sorry about the Visiting Nurse not communicating the way she should. Seems there
could be a better way to reach out to you and your husband.
