On the day of September 11th, hubby and I were watching CNBC when the program was interrupted with what was going on just a few miles from the programming. I said right from the beginning that it looked like a terrorist attack and hubby thought it wasn’t. That was also the week that we were scheduled to leave the USA and to take a ferry from Bar Harbor, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia for the Lions International Canadian Forum which occurs every year. Our hotel and reservations in Halifax, Nova Scotia were already made. Just had no idea if we would be able to attend under the circumstances. I also remembered that I had a cousin working at one of the Towers. I tried for days to reach her parents. Finally, the day before leaving received a phone call that all was well. Cousin wasn’t feeling well and called in sick. The event was still on and so we left for an overnight stay in Bar Harbor.

Hello Sheba, How is your Saturday going? Were you able to pick up some Sunflowers? Today I have two nieces having Birthdays, one is turning 14 and the other 18. Fall decorations are a little on hold, too hot right now. I hope the temperature come down some. Take care Sheba.

Good Evening. Yes, we finally went out and had a great time at our Farmer’s Market. Yes, I picked up the Dragon Fruit, 2 in fact. And, they weren’t cheap ($4,99lb), but they are almost ripe and look gorgeous I also picked up cut up honeydew which are as sweet as butter. I do not know why I have been craving homemade peanut butter, but, I picked up one small container. And yes, our freezer is now full and everything looks yummy. Though I put some away either in the frig or freezer, I still have more packages to deal with. As I drove in hubby wanted to be let out in front of the store. As I looked around I spotted the sit down carts and by the time I parked the van and started walking towards the entrance, there was hubby entranced with the new toy. He was able to go up and down all the aisles. He was like a little kid in the candy store. I wish you could have seen the beaming smile. By the way, they even had lemon plums which is one of my favorites. If you keep them awhile, they will turn red. And no, when they turn it is a different flavor.

That is all for now. Need to finish unloading the packages and put things away. Take care of yourself and stay safe.

Already planning to go that route. There is a postponement number on the summons so I am going to try on Monday. I will let them know her age, she is partially blind and doesn’t drive. Closest other relative is my sis in Cali. She has no other family remaining that would help. Wish me luck!

I watched some of the specials yesterday and this morning for 9/11 – such a somber day. I still get tears in my eyes.😪 I was in Toronto that day and kept calling to see the status of flights. Ended up renting a car that Friday and drove home.

Today mom went to a breakfast held by her HO Association. Later she will be going to church and dinner with a neighbor. Tomorrow she is going with a group to a country club luncheon. Yet she forgets to call me in the morning to let me know she is alive and moving. Sheesh!!😮 She said she got out of the habit of calling when my sister was there. Puts me to shame as I have nothing planned except for some cleaning this weekend.😝

Good day in Maryland. ✨I did read some of your posts in Trivia last night. I have
done this thread for seven years when I created this thread it was only me. So it is
a diary of sorts I just meet really good people along the way. 😎 I have 15 other Conversation
threads out there. I will change the thread eventually. 😜 My Aunt was laid to rest this
week and I am heart broken yet I will rise I know that is what she would want me to do.
