Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I forgot to mention that I love donating items that we no longer use as a donation. I think I told you that at one time our town on the Cape had a Recycle area where people could drop off items and others could pick them up free of charge. Since the area for drop off garbage no longer took items that were made of particle board we also excluded those. Items we took in included wooden furniture, though nothing upholstered; LPS, DVDs, CDs, electronics, toys, games, dishes, glassware, books, magazines, newspapers, clothing that was in good shape and clean, new linens, baskets, plants, planters, jewelry, dolls, stuffed animals, pictures, frames, etc.. Hubby and I worked there as volunteers. It was a great way to meet people and socialize. It was run by the Public Works Department and during the winter months the area was used for sanding the roads and their winter equipment. Unfortunately, about five years ago it was closed down because the public often said that the volunteers would take things before they were put out. Public Works closed their eyes to the comments saying that no one was paid and if a volunteer saw something they could use, all the better. There are now only two recycle areas on the Cape that still take in these donations. I am not aware of any others. It was a free service all around. And, no, it did not interfere with Organizations asking for the same thing. For some reason we were never overstocked and things did go to Goodwill, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Visiting Nurse Association, etc.. Many of their volunteers also stopped by and picked things for themselves and for their organization. All donations made were free to the public and free to donate. I wish it was still available.

It is an absolutely gorgeous day on the Gulf Coast. Temps were in the mid 80s and very little humidity. This is truly the beginning of Fall. Unfortunately, we do not see the fall foliage here. There are tons of oak trees and all they will do is drop their leaves. Come January or February you begin to see the new growth.
The spoonbill is nowhere around. It has been days since he was last seen. I am hoping he is somewhere in Oz, then again, who knows.
The swelling in hubby’s knee is down today. He had Physical Therapy this afternoon. The three of us talked somewhat of our return to the North. Getting there may be a problem for him because of sitting without movement. Driving would mean stopping at all the rest stops for him to walk around. Flying is another huge issue because of the mild stroke just a few months ago, it may not be feasible at this time. And, oh yes, he wants to get behind the wheel. He forgets that the right knee is the one giving him problems.
Tomorrow is the Visiting Nurse. After that visit we will definitely be at Costco and then on to our Farmer’s Market. All peppers, all colors, are $.99/lb. Scallops also on sale. Thursday we will take a trip into Brandon. It’s about a 45 minute drive. This is for a fun day going to the Asian Market and to a Mexican one as well. I also should make a stop at IKEA for a bookcase. But, the travel may be a bit much. Though it’s five miles from the Asian Market just not sure if it’s near the Mexican one. Oh yes, forgot to mention, Hubby loves riding around in the carts. He’s like a kid in a candy store behind the wheel.
I am still praying for a miracle. Laughter is the best medicine.

Hi to you in Oz from me in the ‘burgh. Trying to do some cleaning up just like you. It never ends. Then there is my mom who keeps buying and buying.🙄 Just ordered her a small table to put a turtle statue a neighbor gave her for free – not free now, duh?🙄🙄
Appointments are not finished, hard to get people to call back to schedule things. It will be ongoing through October. Kind of a slow week for me until mom Friday and maybe a few things on the weekend.
Hope your sinuses are calmed down. Hugs to you and Poppy🤗 – still praying.🙏

Good Afternoon Sheba, I am glad you are enjoying the start of Autumn. And getting set for the fall colors, leaves falling, cooler temperatures. It’s a beautiful time of the season. We have another sunny day here, with a wind that seems to not want to stop, thus drying everything. I think I am going to make some potato Rosemary bread. Take care Sheba.

Breaking Family Cycles
Breaking your family patterns may be the most important work you do and the most challenging.
It is easy to believe that in leaving our childhood homes and embarking upon the journey of adulthood, we have effectively removed ourselves from harmful and self-perpetuating familial patterns. In looking closely at ourselves, however, we may discover that our behaviors and beliefs are still those that were impressed upon us during our youth by our parents, grandparents, and the generations that preceded them. We may find ourselves unconsciously perpetuating cycles of the previous generations, such as fear of having enough, not showing affection, and secrecy patterns. Yet the transmission of negative patterns from one generation to the next is not inevitable. It is possible to become the endpoint at which negative family cycles that have thrived for generations are exhausted and can exert their influence no longer. Breaking the pattern is a matter of overcoming those values imprinted upon us long ago in order to replace them with pure love, tolerance, and conscious awareness.
Even if you have struggled with the cumulative effects of family cycles that were an expression of established modes of living and a reflection of the strife your ancestors were forced to endure, you can still liberate yourself from the effects of your family history. The will to divest yourself of old, dark forms of familial energy and carry forth a new loving energy may come in the form of an epiphany. You may one day simply realize that certain aspects of your early life have negatively affected your health, happiness, and ability to evolve as an individual. Or you may find that in order to transcend long-standing patterns of limiting beliefs, irrational behavior, and emotional stiltedness, you have to question your values and earnestly examine how your family has impacted your personality. Only when you understand how family cycles have influenced you can you gain freedom from those cycles.
In order to truly change, you must give yourself permission to change. Breaking family patterns is in no way an act of defiance or betrayal. It is important that you trust yourself implicitly when determining the behaviors and beliefs that will help you overwrite the generation-based cyclical value system that limited your individual potential. Many people are on the earth at this time to break family cycles, for all of you are true pioneers. In breaking negative family cycles, you will discover that your ability to express your feelings and needs grows exponentially and that you will embark upon a journey toward greater well-being that can positively impact generations to come. Alright! ✨✨Have a great day Peeps!

Over the Rainbow – Judy Garland
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There’s a land that I’ve heard of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream,
Really do come true.
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
High above the chimney tops,
That’s where you’ll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t I?
If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I?
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There’s a land that I’ve heard of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream,
Really do come true.
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
High above the chimney tops,
That’s where you’ll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t I?
If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I? -
