Funny that you mentioned the Aides. We had a phone call this evening from the Physical Therapist. She will be here Monday and will call with a time over the weekend.

Today was not a good day. Hubby was in a lot of pain. Lower back and knee. I am now wondering if there is rain in our forecast. We didn’t go out as planned. However we did order take out and the food was real good. Nice treat. Well tomorrow we can give the shopping a try, but will not hold my breath.

I just wrote a note to xango where I mentioned that I checked the price of going to Logan Airport in Boston and found that the flight is only $40 pp one way. The return trip is about $50 pp. I was all excited over the price until I did my homework on car rentals and was amazed how expensive it was over the cost here in Florida. Sticker Shock comes to mind. The price difference is amazing. And on top of that they have the audacity to add on mileage. NO THANK YOU…….ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!!!!!😣😣😣😣😣

Tomorrow night is Trivia. Where did this week go?????? I think we both say the same thing every Thursday. The weeks are flying by too fast. And now it is October. September came and went in a blink of an eye. Hope there is a game, but, if not that’s OK. The chat room will be opened. See you tomorrow night. Oh yes, rain may be in the cards for Saturday. Not sure if it will be at our home, but xango has a good chance. Pleasant dreams.

Hi xango. Before you decide on a 55 and over community, I suggest you visit for a few days, even rent for a few weeks if possible. I am looking at a few new places in our area and beyond. There are one floor homes that have no steps in the entry or into the garage area. I just wish the prices were a bit lower. The reason why I mention the 55 and over group is that some of the places remind me of the last stop before a nursing home or assisted living. Though they have a clubhouse for card games and some entertainment, it may not be something you would enjoy. See if there is a monthly newsletter that would help with your decision. And be careful. Some are not what they say they are.

We redid our master bath a year or so after we moved. We have a walk in shower and bars are not really needed. The rehab center in Savannah said we needed a seat in the shower, but hubby did not like it. Actually it was a bit overpowering. However, he did have problems standing in the shower for any length of time and there were other problems like walking from the lanai to the bathroom and to get there in time. However, the answer was an easy one by ordering a commode. Funny thing happened. He didn’t need the commode. But it has a seat and a handle on each side. Fits perfectly in the shower and makes his life a bit easier. The problem with the chair that was recommended was that it had a tendency to be wobbly. Can you imagine falling out of the shower, maybe breaking the glass door or getting strangled by the shower curtain??? The commode is a perfect match.

Funny that you mentioned selling both homes in the North. We definitely will be selling one of them. We will keep the Cape house for now because we still love the quaintness. The weather during the summer is very much like Florida, but does not last as long. And, we do get some beautiful ocean breezes in the master bedroom. Right now I have looked at a flight from our area to Boston and the rates are very low. Like $40 each way pp. The only hold back is the cost of a car rental which makes driving the way to go. The car rental per week is over $600 even for a compact vehicle. Then on top of that you have mileage. Sticker shock especially when you compare to the $10 per wk. in Florida. and no extra charge for mileage. Anyway, before making any decisions, I will wait to talk to the doctor. Yes, I can go alone, but do not relish leaving hubby on his own. I will be weighing everything very carefully.

By the way, one of my favorite haunts is near you. The Christmas Tree Shops in Altamonte Springs is a stop we used to make on our way North. They are located at Exit 92 off of Rte. 4. When this pandemic thing is really over, do stop there when you are in or close to that Exit. We used to drive the Rte. 4 highway to I-95, but people think that I-75 to I-10 is a shorter route. I’m not so sure. I-75 seems forever and a day before you see I-10. Then again the traffic on I-10—-there is none. Then just the other day someone mentioned 301 from I-75 which brings you to Georgia. May give that a try. Those that use it say it seems shorter. The one drawback is that every town has their own speed limit which you are not often mentioned and you do not know until you are stopped by you know who. OK, a bit concerned here. If you feel someone is watching you, please take some precautions.
I can name a few if you would like, carry pepper spray and a small very bright flashlight on your walks and maybe keep nearby when in the house, security lights, a ring type device and so on.
When chatting with my son about wanting to add a knife to my backpack (I had one in my pack but accidentally took it to the airport and it was found, another story for another day but they took it obviously ( many years ago) for hiking he suggested the pepper spray. It’s good for any situation weather a person or animal. Hopefully you never need it.
Think I am using a service to digitize the old photos. It can take up to 6 weeks. Most likely I will take a picture with phone as a back up while I test this out. I considered buying a scanner for pictures.

@oodiebom, OODIEBOM, Hello Odie, how are you and your husband doing today? Thank you for your tip on Detwiler Farmers Market I wish they would come to Lakeland. I also wish we were near to each other, that way I could help. Driving to the North will be a long ride, and as you said flying for a person who has a mild stroke may not be a good idea. I started last night making a dinner for my next neighbor, she had a Birthday last week so it’s a belated birthday dinner. Finished today with potato Rosemary bread. I made my spinach and cheese ravioli and a tomato cream sauce. Infused olive oil with some herbs for dipping the bread in. I was to tired and ran out of time fro making a dessert, maybe next week I made something sweet in take it over to them. They are about half my age and they both work out of the house. Odie have you thought about selling your properties in the North and moving down permanently? Perhaps into a 55 plus community with lots of amenities, pools, game rooms and much more. An area not in a hurricane path that you would have to evacuate in case of a hurricane would come your way. Just something to think about. Perhaps build a home with a walk in shower with bars to grab on. Bars bythe toilet for easy up and down. And other conveniences in the same manner. In we had this house build I had them do a walk in shower and bars so I can grab to in and out of it. No steps into it, into the house either. No steps at all, I have a dislocated hip, no steps for me anymore. I was born that way, got operated at two, then I fell in school in 1969. Spent my summer in the hospital, got an infection and was never able to walk without limping or pain. And now it’s the worst it’s been, when I see myself walking I don’t recognize myself. Well enough of that. Odie you wouldn’t believe, I used to dance all night long when I was young. Take care Oodie.

Our weather has been beautiful, cooler but bright sunshine, and you are right, I am enjoying each day. Had a hard time falling asleep last night, which rarely happens, so I have been dozing off. Thought I’d check in before lights out.

Taking mom for her nails, grocery store and hair salon tomorrow. So I will be tired again, lol! May meet our friends this weekend for a steak dinner. Hope you are feeling well.💛💜💗
