Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sometimes you feel that everything is down. But remember, as long as your BIL is breathing there is still something that may come along and miracles do happen every single day. You said your BIL is an accomplished pianist. Maybe on rough days an electric keyboard can be the best medicine and your singing as an accompaniment would actually help in that miracle. One never knows what G-d has in store for us
Hubby saw the Physical Therapist. She didn’t stay long and I surmise it was due to the pain in his knee and lower back. He will be asking the physician for medication. Driving the 1300 miles could pose problems for him, though he thinks not. I’m still questioning and right now there is no right or wrong answer.
The kitten is adorable. Someday I will be hearing those purrs again. And someday I will hear the patter of four paws going across the floor .
Weather is beautiful in Florida. Temps are in the mid 80s and no humidity. Good day to go out and do some weeding and just breath some of Florida’s cooler air. Sorry, no rain for now. Maybe things will change by the end of the week.
No spoonbill today. Are you sure he isn’t visiting OZ?????

Good afternoon to you. A little dreary today but warm in the ‘burgh. That pretty much is the forecast for the rest of the week.
Was not aware it was National Golf Lover’s day, didn’t even know that was a day, yikes! I guess there is a “national” something everyday. My husband’s season with the golf league is over so he may get out one or two more times.
Glad the Chiefs won . . .on to next week. Hockey begins next week. It will be interesting to see what the different teams will do about covid restrictions in their arenas since they are enclosed and not outdoors like football, baseball, golf, etc. Right now when there are concerts in our arena, they request but do not require masks. Two of our players just recently tested positive and they were vaccinated.
For you, Poppy and family – 💖🙏💖🙏💖🙏

Trees Shedding Their Bark
Like a tree, our growth depends upon our ability to soften, loosen, and shed defenses we no longer need.
Trees grow up through their branches and down through their roots into the earth. They also grow wider with each passing year. As they do, they shed the bark that served to protect them but now is no longer big enough to contain them. In the same way, we create boundaries and develop defenses to protect ourselves and then, at a certain point, we outgrow them. If we don’t allow ourselves to shed our protective layer, we can’t expand to our full potential.
Trees need their protective bark to enable the delicate process of growth and renewal to unfold without threat. Likewise, we need our boundaries and defenses so that the more vulnerable parts of ourselves can safely heal and unfold. But our growth also depends upon our ability to soften, loosen, and shed boundaries and defenses we no longer need. It is often the case in life that structures we put in place to help us grow eventually become constricting.
Unlike a tree, we must consciously decide when it’s time to shed our bark and expand our boundaries, so we can move into our next ring of growth. Many spiritual teachers have suggested that our egos don’t disappear so much as they become large enough to hold more than just our small sense of self — the boundary of self widens to contain people and beings other than just “me.” Each time we shed a layer of defensiveness or ease up on a boundary that we no longer need, we metaphorically become bigger people. With this in mind, it is important that we take time to question our boundaries and defenses. While it is essential to set and honor the protective barriers we have put in place, it is equally important that we soften and release them when the time comes. In doing so, we create the space for our next phase of growth. Love it. 😎✨
