The Golden Rule
When we honor others by following the golden rule, we honor ourselves too.
All over the world, there exists a simple precept that, when followed, has the power to end conflict and banish strife. It is the Golden Rule, a key concept in many philosophies and spiritualities that admonishes us to “do unto others as we would have them do unto us.” Its meaning is clear: treat others only in ways that you would want to be treated. However, the golden rule is not always easy to follow. It can be a challenge to honor others as we wish to be honored. Yet, when we do so, we bestow a gift of loving kindness on our fellow human beings. And, in honoring others, we honor ourselves.
It is as uncomplicated a tenet as one could wish for. When we live by it, harming another person becomes nearly impossible. The Golden Rule is rooted in pure empathy and does not compel us to perform any specific act. Rather, it gently guides us to never let our actions toward others be out of harmony with our own desires. The Golden Rule asks us to be aware of the effect our words and actions may have on another person and to imagine ourselves in their place. It calls on us to ask ourselves how we would feel if what we were about to do were directed toward us. And yet this rule invites us to do more than not harm others. It suggests that we look for opportunities to behave toward others in the same ways that we would want others to act toward us. Showing compassion, being considerate of others, caring for the less fortunate, and giving generously are what can result when you follow the Golden Rule.
Adhering to the Golden Rule whenever possible can have a positive effect on the world around you because kindness begets kindness. In doing so, you generate a flow of positive energy that enfolds everyone you encounter in peace, goodwill, and harmony. 🙂 ♥

Cherie,
Those are the best to see the Moon. We drive to Colorado by the Moon often. Seems like
the Moon is following us. One year my Aunt was driving from somewhere and she said
the moon was so big it scared her. I would have loved it. Things happen to me when the
moon is full. I pay attention to all the phases it goes through. The dreams become vivid.I hope this never stops. 🙂 Today is the date Mcpoopoo passed. Cherie I don’t ever want
to forget her. ♥ Have a great day. -
Good Morning that sounds good. ♥ How are you today? I know like Marla Wynne
have you received your packages? I know you are thinking of Vegas. ♥Beautiful fall day here in OZ.
I have had days like this. 🙂

Hi Sheba, I meant to post over the weekend but things around here have been very upsetting and I’ve been crying non-stop since Saturday. When we were busy taking care of all the ophaned kittens, we weren’t able to get to Tammy-Tabitha in time and she ended up pregnant (She is the feral calico who lives in my backyard and is mommy to Laramie, Harper, Jess and Pumpkin). She had her babies August 13. We couldn’t find them anywhere and weren’t sure if she had them here or one of the two vacant houses down the street that are for sale. We finally saw them for the first time last week playing in the bushes under the front windows; 4 in all – one tortie, one b/w, two orange/white, and obviously adorable. On Friday afternoon we couldn’t find them but thought they would show up for dinner later (Tammy-Tabitha was starting to wean them, they are 5 weeks old and we were putting kitten wet food out for them). Later that night they still weren’t seen. It became apparent on Saturday when Mommy Tammy-Tabitha was searching all over our front yard and backyard for her babies and crying. She is still crying and searching. We think they were stolen. We even went around asking people and my husband went to police station to see if anyone turned them in. Police even patroled our neighborhood. I don’t think she moved them because why would she be crying for them? It’s heart breaking. I’m so sad for her and worried about the babies. When my husband talked to one of our neighbors yesterday, the neighbor said we better get her fixed or he was going to get her and take her to the spca. My husband told him we considered her to be ours and were planning on catching her to get her fixed and to not take her there, or the kittens if he found them because spca will just kill them (in my area, they kill cats, don’t even give them the 3 day waiting period). My neighbor said he knew that and didn’t care.
My husband is leaving to go down there to see if they are there, and if not, going to check the no-kill shelters. We just can’t believe how someone could take 4 little kittens out of our yard. Why couldn’t they just knock on our door and ask if any needed homes? The mommy is so sad and worried. So are we.
Just wanted to tell you what is going on. I just don’t understand people. -
