Hi Sheba;

This was not a good day. Our beautiful little Avi’s heart stopped beating during his dental surgery. The vet called a half hour after she called to say what she needed to do. He is gone. We are beyond devasted. The animal hospital wants to handle all costs for an autopsy. At first we said no. Loved ones converged on our house. We decided if it would help other doggies; we said okay.

I may hide for a day or two.

Jerry wants another doggie. We rescue and we want a Bichon.

@Sheba, Laura is one of my faves. I love the history channels and Science channels too but no longer get them. I can pull up all sorts of interesting history shows on Utube though. I just found the app on my tv not long ago so I can even watch WWII movies and documentaries the cable channels don’t show so it’s all good. 😀
I think I like all the old movies for the same reason – my parents liked them and when I watch them I get to reconnect with them and memories flood back. Besides that, they are just really good and I love the old Hollywood actors, there is just something about them…
The post you missed was just down a little from here. You may have seen it, I don’t know. I just wanted you to see it because I responded about James Garner and didn’t want you to think I missed your post. It is easy to do sometimes when the thread is active. No worries… 😀

Grit tv may be a California channel then. It’s cable and I just assumed everyone had it. I used to get Starz Encore Westerns but we cut back on cable channels to just basic. I miss that station and Turner movie classics. Grit is a new station born about a year or two ago I think.
Very interesting about Hoagy! I had no idea. I know he plays piano and sings in Laramie. I think in the series opener or soon after that episode he sings a song called “Marry Me In Laramie”. I love the song. 😀

That is my second fave scene in that movie. My fave is when Hugh Grant is dancing and singing! It’s hysterical. It doesn’t hurt that he is a dead ringer for an old beau.

great Westerns. Hoagy has written great songs. ♥

LOL! Thanks again! My husband and I watch this show all the time! I wasn’t born when it first was filmed and I never saw the reruns on tv. I have read that it was canceled due to the violence which I don’t get at all. Boy the world has changed… I just discovered it last year when Grit tv started playing it. I love westerns. Many of them were filmed not far from my childhood home.
I didn’t know Hoagy was in Best Years of our Lives! What role did he play? That is one of my all time fave movies – Frederick March, Dana Andrews, Teresa Wright… great movie with very interesting story lines. Another fave movie of the WWII story lines is The Longest Day with John Wayne, Red Buttons, Sean Connery. I’m so glad we can talk about old movies. I only have my hubby and MIL who share this interest with me and since MIL’s strokes, it is hard to carry on a conversation at any length. I miss being able to really talk with her.
The young boy in the pic is the older brother to Johhny Crawford who plays the son in Rifleman. Johhny used to sing too, I think he still does.
If you want to see Robert Fuller looking really hot, pull up Laramie videos on Utube. The song black Velvet is a good one. Then there is one of him just riding his horse. He has a horse ranch in Texas now. Both he and John Smith grew up riding so they are just naturals at it. Nothing sexier than a man who knows his way around a horse! I LOVE horses!
