Welcome to conversation – 15. This is number 15 of this thread.
We are in TAY. This Thread is three years old.
I hope you enjoy this as it covers music, fashion and most of all
Heidi Daus. I am an Avid Collector. ♥ my focus is fashion being a former
fashion model. As a singer I cover lots of old school music and popular and
show tunes. Movies are a must. We talk about a lot of things in Conversation.
Please remember this is TAY! I am still learning the new system so bear with me.
Blessings to you all. ♥ Happy Holidays ♥

This is my 5th year on this thread of doing this song. I am about to go into year 5 of the
Conversation Threads and every year I have done this song and I will do it again before
the year is out. I have lost so many people this year. I never want to forget them. Happy
New Year everyone I can sing this from memory. ♥Sung by Sheba – Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne. For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne.
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
And surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.We twa hae run about the braes
And pu’d the gowans fine
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot
Sin auld lang syne.We twa hae paidl’d i’ the burn
Frae mornin’ sun till dine.
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin auld lang syne. And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie’s a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right guid willy waught,
For auld lang syne.Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
And long, long ago.And for long, long ago, my dear
For long, long ago.
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For long, long ago.
And surely youll buy your pint-jug!
And surely I’ll buy mine!
And we’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For long, long ago.We two have run about the hills
And pulled the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered manys the weary foot
Since long, long ago.We two have paddled in the stream,
From morning sun till dine;
But seas between us broad have roared
Since long, long ago.And there’s a hand, my trusty friend!
And give us a hand of yours!
And we’ll take a deep draught of good-will
For long, long ago.You see it every New Year’s Eve when the clock strikes midnight: people faking their way through “Auld Lang Syne.”
We don’t blame them; no one really knows the words to the song — even though we sing it all over the world when we ring in the New Year.
The British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s conducted a study this year and found just 3% in the United Kingdom know the words (42% of millennials have no clue, it said).
“Auld Lang Syne,” which means “times gone by,” is a Scottish tune written by poet Robert Burns in 1788. But Scots didn’t fare much better. Only 7% know all the lyrics, Sainbury’s said.
Admittedly, it’s a hard song. At least get the first verse and chorus right, and belt it loud and proud!

I so wish you were able to call in that would have been great. I am glad you noticed
the mosaic art. I am glad your daughter is doing better too. I have my house the
way I want it so I am content. New Year’s Eve and Day is not far so I will do things
in relations to that. I know Cherie can’t wait and neither can I. I have lost so many people
in a 12 month period then anytime in my life. I need something new for me. I think we
all do. 🙂 Still Love’s been good to me. ♥ I miss Loaf these past couple but I know Loaf she
will post when she can I just hope all is well with everyone coming down with the cold.I hope you are enjoying your evening. 🙂

@Sheba,
It happens! Happened to me many times! Sometimes I try to do the post over and other times I’m too tired to post again. Thanks for the beautiful mosaic art gallery!
I saw the other art piece you posted (Martin). Beautiful! How wonderful to own an original! I love the history attached to the painting. Thanks for sharing that! 😀
I hope your day has gone well. Are you getting ready for Jay King’s visit? I never called HSN back about calling in for Jay’s show.@bichon18,
Hope you are getting better each day! I have never taken the antibiotic Levaquan but I know what you are talking about as some antibiotics have that effect on me because of my UC. About the only one that doesn’t bother me is Amoxicillin which is what I take before dental exams. I hope your antibiotics are agreeing with you and not making you sick. Be sure to eat plenty of yogurt. I’m sure Ari is being a big help with cuddling. 😀@Cherie,
Get the Volvo! My brother has a Volvo similar to the one you posted and he loves it! He got his a couple of summers ago and has had a few road trips along the Cali coast, Oregon coast on his way to the lake house. He takes Simon (his cute fur baby) and they get some quiet time for a month or so. He is widowed and finds a lot of solace in these adventures with Simon.
As far as the Volvo commercial, I am not familiar with it or with the opera singer but I am very familiar with the aria and The Magic Flute from where the aria comes. My daughter has performed The Magic Flute many times with the city symphony orchestra and when she was a music performance major. She was principal flute. She also plays piccolo. She used to perform with the city opera too but loves playing music more than singing. She is a mezzo-soprano. My MIL was also an opera singer and was a soprano. She is almost 90 so her voice isn’t what it used to be but she can still sing! 😀 She is amazing!
I hope you get your Volvo, and like Sheba said, ride like the wind! Just don’t get any tickets! Lol!
Oh, Jonnie has an appointment Monday to get fixed. She is in heat again, poor baby. Vet said he does this surgery all the time on cats in heat and he will be very careful. I really don’t want to have it done with her in heat but hoping by Monday she will be through. The thing is that she keeps returning to a heat cycle within just a few days after it’s over. Poor baby is exhausted. I feel so bad for her and just want to cuddle it all away.@loaf,
I hope you are well. Haven’t seen you post in a couple of days so I hope you are feeling well and your family is continuing to get better. I hope you had a great Christmas! How is the new puppy Bella doing?@taci, @velvet, @mightymouse, Hope you are all doing well and resting well after Christmas. Hope everyone will have a happy new year! Hugs to all! 😀

Balance
A balanced lifestyle is simply a state of being, in which one has time and energy for obligations and pleasures.
Like pieces of a puzzle, the many different aspects of your being come together to form the person that you are. You work and play, rest and expend energy, commune with your body and soul, exalt in joy, and feel sorrow. Balance is the state that you achieve when all of the aspects of your life and self are in harmony. Your life force flows in a state of equilibrium because nothing feels out of sync. While balance is necessary to have a satisfying, energetic, and joyful life, only you can determine what balance means to you. ♥
Achieving balance requires that you assess what is important to you. The many demands of modern life can push us to make choices that can put us off balance and have a detrimental effect on our habits, relationships, health, and career. In creating a balanced lifestyle, you must ascertain how much time and energy you are willing to devote to the different areas of your life. To do so, imagine that your life is a house made up of many rooms. Draw this house, give each part of your life its own room, and size each room according to the amount of importance you assign to that aspect of your life. You can include family, solitude, activities that benefit others, healthy eating, indulgences, exercise and working on self. You may discover that certain elements of your life take up an inordinate amount of time, energy, or effort and leave you with few resources to nurture the other aspects of your life. You may want to spend less time on these activities and more on the ones that fulfill you.
A balanced lifestyle is simply a state of being in which one has time and energy for obligations and pleasures, as well as time to live well and in a gratifying way. With its many nuances, balance can be a difficult concept to integrate into your life. Living a balanced existence, however, can help you attain a greater sense of happiness, health, and fulfillment.
