Welcome to conversation – 15. This is number 15 of this thread.
We are in TAY. This Thread is three years old.
I hope you enjoy this as it covers music, fashion and most of all
Heidi Daus. I am an Avid Collector. ♥ my focus is fashion being a former
fashion model. As a singer I cover lots of old school music and popular and
show tunes. Movies are a must. We talk about a lot of things in Conversation.
Please remember this is TAY! I am still learning the new system so bear with me.
Blessings to you all. ♥ Happy Holidays ♥

What region are you in? Are you near Colorado? I have no clue. We are getting hit
this weekend with temps -5 degrees. Oh I am looking for this one. I just don’t want
to go without power. Sorry about son Number 2 getting the bug. We have 4 children
and I always keep 7-up and soup on hand. Best everyone get it and get it over with.I spent 2 months on antibiotics and I am so glad it is over. I hope every one feel better soon.
Faire is under the weather I am trying to show some Heidi Daus on The Heidi Daus Thread.
I think kitten may have the right choice I don’t know yet besides half the fun is guessing.
♥ I am glad you are feeling better. 🙂 -
@kittengirl, your son is a scientist? How exciting! I was excited to read that because my son is going to be a geneticist. He found his niche in the lab and worked as the professor’s aid and biology tutor last semester. I love seeing him so happy and content. However, mom and dad will be broke for a few more years. Lol

Heading my way too. They are predicting 5-8” but said it’s still too early to give an exact forecast. I love a big snowstorm. However, son #1 is feeling better but son#2 caught the bug. I just don’t like driving on slippery roads and will stock up on popsicles, cough drops, 7-Up and Ginger Ale before the snow starts to fly.

Your hubby sounds like a dreamboat. Wow! The only person I could think of fitting a description like that would be Matthew McConaughey and I suspect your hubby is better looking. But wait…he cooks. I have this thing about men who cook. Cooking is a very good thing.
Jerry makes Matzoh Brie once a year. Now and then…scrambled eggs. It is okay. I am still waiting for him to retire so we can be foodies together. Not happening. He will be 73 in a couple of weeks. I just want him to be healthy and stay on this earth.
Getting dreary…..stop….I am in the Mah Jongg room and am the fifth so I am writing to you. I do not play very often. Like the game…don’t like the card room.
Will pick this up later.

We have another storm heading this way. It will be here by the weekend.
Oh Joy!

@Sheba,
How does your daughter like Roku? The only thing I am not liking about it is that I can’t record my shows or when Heidi or Iman is on. I can learn to live with it though. Maybe Perry Mason collections are out there for sale at Amazon. Have you been into the short series “Dirty John”? True story. Sick evil man.
Thank you for asking about my daughter. She is feeling better right now and she is on winter break from school. We have a little more time with her now. 😀 She has some tests to go through this month. When i ask her about it, she says she doesn’t want to talk about it. I understand, I’m the same way. Things that scare me I don’t want to talk about. I will let you know when I know about her tests. She does seem to look better and feel better though. Thanks for the kind words. I think all parents want to help their kids achieve their goals, right? 😀
I’m sorry I got the thread out of order. I didn’t know you were on and just wanted to post and get going with everything I have waiting around here. Speaking of which… I need to get going and get things done. Have a great day! I will be on later, stay warm and toasty! 😀 -

Thanks I wanted to know your experience because I am cutting the cable cord not my
internet. My kids are very tech savvy and one daughter actually have the Roku.I am not trying to be fussy about where you post it is I spend time to post things.
It takes a lot to post on this system. I like to read everyone posts and sometimes things
can get lost. People do read this thread and I try to fix it in a way where they can keep up
with conversations. 🙂 I enjoy talking to you so that is not a problem. ♥ Thanks for the info
yeah your son is busy he is a Scientist trying to help cure this thing called cancer. I hope
he and others succeeds. 🙂 How is your daughter? I think you are great parents trying to
help you daughter through school. God Bless Her.♥ -
LOL! I saw it and replied. 😀

@Sheba,
Hi! I guess we were posting at same time! Lol! To answer your question, the Roku isn’t set up yet. We are not techy people so have to do it over phone with son. We can choose different packages and get stations we want. We want MeTv, Grit or some other western channel, a classic movie channel, TBN, HSN, QVC (love Princess Grace jewelry and their gold specials), Fox News, HGTV, The weather channel, NFL, red-zone, PBS and local news. If I can’t have all of those then I can pull them up on the computer I guess. We would also love to have the good history channel. There is one that changed and has shows that have nothing to do with history and then there is another history channel that has all the good documentaries, that’s the one we want. I also like Investigation Discovery channel. I will find out more when he hook it up and let you know. It is definitely time to cut the cord for us now that we are living off of a fixed income yet support our daughter and grandson. It has been really hard but we all want her to finish school so she can provide well for her son. She has chosen a lucrative field with great employment opportunities. We are trying to cut back anyway we can. I guess what we end up with will be what we want to spend but it will save a bundle every month. We are so ready to cut the cord! We will still have cable for internet and for our land line. I’ll let you know more when we get it hooked up, hopefully this weekend. Son is always busy with work.
Yes, Jonnie is getting better and it makes me happy to see it! It is just going to take a little time to get back to herself. She’s adorable. Thanks for wishing me well at Dr tomorrow. 😀
Stay warm and stay clear of shoveling snow! -
She’s A Rainbow
The Rolling StonesShe comes in colors ev’rywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
She comes in colors ev’rywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
Have you seen her dressed in blue?
See the sky in front of you
And her face is like a sail
Speck of white so fair and pale
Have you seen a lady fairer?
She comes in colors ev’rywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
Have you seen her all in gold?
Like a queen in days of old
She shoots colors all around
Like a sunset going down
Have you seen a lady fairer?
She comes in colors ev’rywhere
She combs her hair
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
She’s like a rainbow
Coming, colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors -
Ruby Tuesday
The Rolling StonesShe would never say where she came from
Yesterday don’t matter if it’s gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows, she comes and goes
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you
Don’t question why she needs to be so free
She’ll tell you it’s the only way to be
She just can’t be chained
To a life where nothing’s gained
Or nothing’s lost, at such a cost
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you
“There’s no time to lose, ” I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind
Ain’t life unkind?
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you -
A Self-Esteem Exercise
Having low self-esteem is a common issue – with some introspection you can start to loosen the grip of this negative thought pattern.
Our primary relationship in life is with ourselves. No one else goes through every experience in life with us. We are our one permanent companion, yet we are often our worst critic. To remind ourselves of our magnificence, we can do this exercise: “Five Things I Like About Myself.”
Begin by writing down at least five things that you like about yourself. This is not the time to be modest. If you are having trouble coming up with a total of five items, you know that this exercise can really benefit you. Be sure to include more than your physical attributes on your list, since our bodies are only part of who we are. If you are still struggling with what to include on your list, think of what you like about your favorite people, because these traits are probably qualities that you possess too. Another way to complete your list is to think of five things you don’t like about yourself and find something about these traits that you can turn into a positive.
Continue this process for a week, thinking of five new things you like about yourself each day. At the end of the week, read the list aloud to yourself while standing in front of a mirror. Instead of looking for flaws to fix, allow the mirror to reflect your magnificence. You may feel silly about standing in front of a mirror and reading aloud a list of your admirable attributes, but it might just bring a smile to your face and change the way you see yourself. Remember, it is when you feel the most resistant that this exercise can benefit you the most. Because we are constantly looking at the world, instead of looking at ourselves, we don’t often see what’s magnificent about ourselves that others do. When we take the time to experience ourselves the way we would experience someone we love and admire, we become our best companion and supporter on life’s journey.
