Welcome to conversation – 15. This is number 15 of this thread.
We are in TAY. This Thread is three years old.
I hope you enjoy this as it covers music, fashion and most of all
Heidi Daus. I am an Avid Collector. ♥ my focus is fashion being a former
fashion model. As a singer I cover lots of old school music and popular and
show tunes. Movies are a must. We talk about a lot of things in Conversation.
Please remember this is TAY! I am still learning the new system so bear with me.
Blessings to you all. ♥ Happy Holidays ♥

I’m so sorry to read about your son and the pain he is having. I must have missed something somewhere. Is he having surgery? Did he injure himself skiing? I hope he will be ok.
Thank you for the kind words on my daughter. She is feeling better today and on solid foods now. I agree, it will be hard for her next time. When she finishes school she can finally have some good insurance and maybe she can have my Dr. unless she moves right away (which I hope she doesn’t). Yes, my grandson is adorable! But I am biased! 😀 He is a really good boy, very smart and so kind and thoughtful. He looks like my daughter – beautiful eyes and smile! He is so cute missing his two front teeth! Remember that song “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”? Lol. Well, he was just missing one at Christmas! 😀 He used to be blonde but now has brown hair and gets blonde highlights in the summer. He has curly hair too but his daddy cuts his hair very short so the curls aren’t present now.
How did I know about your husband getting re-certified? You posted that he was talking about flying. People talk about the things they miss and want to do again. I figured he was putting out feelers. Are you ok with his flying again? My son wants his pilot’s license. I won’t say it doesn’t worry me but I also know he is a very level headed man and will be good at whatever he does. I know, moms (and wives) just want their family safe. 😀
I hope you have a good day. Is it raining there? It is here. And snow in the foothills. 😀 -
Good morning! I hope you are having a good day so far! I love the movie Shindler’s list. It is quite sad and disturbing and I cry whenever I have seen it. I admit though, I have not watched it many times because of how disturbing it is. I have to be in a good emotional place. Some movies are just like that for me. I grew up watching lots of WWII documentaries with my dad; we both shared a love of history, in particular, WWII history. Some were quite disturbing. I love movies about WWII and movies filmed back in that time. I think we can learn so much from history. I don’t think the younger generation is learning much about that time anymore in school these days and it concerns me. The only way for history to NOT repeat itself is if we study it and learn from it. No, everyone has to be politically correct and concerned with “feelings” these days. You are not allowed to call a spade a spade.
I am sure this will be such a meaningful trip for you to see so many historical places. I loved reading Ann Frank as a young girl. I think I was 9 when I first read it. I was always taken with her joy for life in such a trying and impossible time. She was a very brave girl. It boggles the mind that people can do those things to others. I one knew a man whose father I later found out was an officer during WWII stationed in Poland. The man I knew I thought was Irish and grew up there but he was actually German and his father served Hitler. They fled to Ireland and are very very wealthy. His father til the day he died still stood behind the war and the man was never bothered by this or apologetic for his father’s service. I just couldn’t wrap my head around that. I had secretly wondered where they got their wealth back in that day. He was a man of position and even knew some very prominent US politicians in the democratic party. If I told you who, you would freak out. The whole thing really upset me. We drifted apart after that. I am not trying to say that people cannot make mistakes or still love people who they know have done wrong, but to have no remorse for war crimes done to others? No. Does not sit with me, gave me the ebbie jeebies. Anyway, that’s a long digression…
I am sure you will have an interesting trip visiting Anne Frank and other places. Will you be seeing where Corrie Ten Boom lived?
I hope you have a good day with Jerry and little man, Ari. 😀 Are you pretty much packed or at least know what you are taking? How many Heidi pieces are going with you? When is your birthday? I know it is coming up and you have been giving letters. Are the letters for the big day or did I miss something? It wouldn’t be the first time. Lol. Have a good one Amy! 😀 -
Good morning! Are you still blonde or dark blonde-brown? I’m light blonde. I have never tried Aveeno, I use Carol’s daughter Monoi for my curls. Love it but have sensitive scalp and skin so looking lately for dye-free, fragrance free, sulfate free. My daughter uses Jojoba oil. Her hair is dark and even curlier than mine. It gives her hair a great shine and doesn’t make it greasy. She likes to use all natural products that are chemical free.
I am happy your family got to make their trip to Africa and I hope it is a safe one for them. I hope they have a wonderful time! It must be amazing to see those beautiful animals in the wild. Going to Africa on a safari has been a dream of mine for a long time. I love photography and I love animals so it’s a natural! 😀
So glad to hear your family is working in finding a cure to this wretched thing also! They are getting closer all the time. My son’s facility is being set up to manufacture a new method of fighting it. It is very promising and proven and will kick some serious you know what! It is very exciting! It will be a couple of years before available. He has made me promise not to say anymore than that. One day a cure will come! 😀
Hope you have a good day and stay warm! Hugs to Bella! 😀

@Cherie,
Your dream was definitely scary! I have been through some bad ones too! I fortunately was living here when the Northridge quake hit. I am glad it hit in the early morning hours or lots of people would have lost their lives, including my hubby! The building he worked in was destroyed and the floor he worked on was sandwiched between the floor below and the floor above! The parking lot where I used to pick him up some days was below level and the level above it collapsed on it too. Sometimes I would love to move back there but earthquakes just frighten me too much! I am uneasy whenever we go down there. My SIL’s (BIL’s wife) parents house was missing the side of it. Just crumbled! I HATE earthquakes. There are no warnings!
About your dream… It could be the result of a conversation you had recently about earthquakes or disasters (perhaps brought on by fallen trees at work and people being lucky) or you could be concerned taxes are coming up soon (remember, you talked about California’s HIGH taxes) or you could be going through something now that makes you feel uncertain or that has shaken your foundation. I don’t know, but I’m just thinking. You do have some interesting dreams and dreams like that don’t just happen. Was there a small one lately that you felt and it worried you but you didn’t talk about it?
Your hair is so pretty! I haven’t had hair to my waist since I was 13! After that, the longest I ever wore it was to my bra band. I wear it shoulder length now. It is curly/wavy. Some days it is like your picture and other days it is in ringlets. It has it’s own mind. I never dry it and it can take up to 3 hours to dry so I either have to get ready very early for something or leave the house with wet hair. After I wash and condition it, I spray “it’s a 10 miracle leave-in” and then apply and scrunch Kenra styling gel to keep it from frizzy fly aways. After it is dry, I shake out my hair and massage my fingers through my scalp. I have very low maintenance hair which is a good thing because I am not patient and hairdryers are HOT! Lol! On occasion I use a hair dryer set on cool/low with a diffuser. You probably do the same. I like your highlights that come from the sun and pool! 😀
Have a good day! Hugs from all the kitties! 😀 -
Good morning Sheba!
Yes, I got some sleep last night but woke up at 4am and have been up since. It is raining today and I am missing football! I was flipping channels and came across the RHOBH. Oh my, real? You’ve got to give them credit for keeping up with their make-up! They do have their own make-up artists and hairdressers to attend to them every day. Not in my real life…
I have been watching make-up tutorials this morning. No wonder I stopped wearing make-up! They go to too much work! If I draw on some eyebrows, put on some eyeliner and lip balm I am good to go. That’s my “made-up” face now! I’ve never been a big one for lots of make-up but at least I did wear it but it gets harder and harder. When I got my haircut last week, there was a young girl there (also blonde but with nice full darker eyebrows). She told me to go to Ulta because they had people there that can show me how to have eyebrows. She said they have the best products and are very knowledgeable. She wasn’t being mean! I went there with no brows on and I asked her because hers were nice. My hairdresser works out of her home so it’s not like I went out in public with my horrible sparse light eyebrows! Lol!
Anyway, that’s been my day – trying to get make-up tips online. It has been so long that I’m not good at it. It is definitely NOT like riding a bicycle! Lol!
What are you up to today? Are you staying warm? I hope your family is doing well. I will give the kitties hugs for you! 😀
Glad your hubby got the pipe fixed! That can be a disaster! I had a flood in my home. Insurance wouldn’t cover it. Had to have the house re-piped and all damages repaired. That’s 15k i really didn’t want to spend! We got new insurance after that and reported them to the State Insurance and to Better Business Bureau.
Have a good day! -

Cherie,
Good Morning! What day is this? LOL! I will not say the name. Thanks for reading the posts
I did yesterday. Hubby was a little under the weather he is fine now and I had a little time
on my hands due to the Ice and Snow. I can get creative when I have the time.I am sure you will look great with your new hair cut. Cherie I don’t think you would like OZ
in the winter time. This by far has been very bad this year. Oh I watched The Day After
Tomorrow yesterday and I am like I feel your pain. 🙂 Say hello to your mom for me.
You and your family have a great Sunday. ♥ Well here is to better days ahead. 🙂
Cherie I hope there are no Earth Quakes on the horizon. Your dream is telling you something. What I don’t know.
I see you doing this today the girl in the picture is relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. ♥
