I would rather an intruder go down instead of a family member sitting in their own home.
I would clean that house up and then I would list it for sale.

My reaction would have been the same sorry I feel bad for the person killed but he should
know better to break into peoples homes. That’s just wrong.

Glad you are safe Kitten be aware at all times. I would list the house because I would not
want my children in there. I cannot believe this. Glad the family is safe that is what I mean
when I say every night for five years be safe.

Oh how I wish I had posted about my neighbors a little later than I had because I just found out all that happened! Hubby went out to get the mail just now and the neighbors just came home! He saw them BOTH! Both husband and wife! He went over to talk with them, shocked of course! He wanted to make sure everyone was ok. Apparently, their house was broken into (this is in the middle of the day!) and the husband had to defend himself so he had to shoot the intruder. It was the intruder who was killed. We are so relieved and happy to hear the family is ok. They just came back and are cleaning up the house now. They needed to get away and were at a family members house. They have taken the crime scene tape down.
Just around Thanksgiving someone tried to break into our home in the morning. We were both home. We have a security alarm system which was not on but we have locks on all the windows which make it impossible for someone to come in through the windows even if on “open lock”. The would be intruder found this out and left the screen on the ground. Now we put the alarm on even when home.
It just so happened that on Friday, the husband was home for the day instead of going to work or the wife would have been by herself with the intruder. Scares me to even think about that. They have the same floor plan as us so I wonder if it was the same person that tried to break into our house. I’m just glad everything is ok with the family. How scary! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know so you could feel better. Yes, someone did die, but maybe he should have thought about that before breaking into someone’s house with intent on causing bodily harm. Why didn’t he just run and leave? Why did he try to hurt them? I will never understand these things. Thank God the family is ok. 😀

I have trouble wrapping my head around this one too. It happened Friday afternoon. My hubby was coming home at the time and the first responders were there. Several hours later, the coroner arrived and took the body. There were several crime scene police cars there too. This has had me very upset and I just couldn’t even talk about it.

I would love to hear the kitty stories.
Jonnie did something really cute this morning with her baby. I have my childhood teddybear in the bedroom sitting in a chair. Cuddles and Walker loved that bear and would often curl up with him and sleep on his legs. The kitties have always treated this bear well. They must just know how special this bear was to me as a little girl (I have him dressed in an infant sized Chicago Bears outfit) so they have always been gentle with him. So anyway, this morning Jonnie brought him her “baby”. Isn’t that adorable? 😀

Kitten that is so sad I am trying to wrap my head around this one. I feel for the kids and the
spouse who is alive. I need a minute to process all of this.

I hope you are doing alright. I hope you are able to catch the girls. Yes I had 4 cats the
kids kept sneaking them in it was fun. I will tell some stories of them I do miss my cats.

I need to break for a minute that part where there is crime scene tape is bothering me
I hope all the neighbors watch out for one another and lock those doors.

There’s a full moon starting Tuesday morning and it’s the brightest one of the year.

It’s called a super snow moon. It’s a combination of two things – a snow moon and a supermoon.

Snow moon is the traditional name for the second full moon of the year “due to the typically heavy snowfall of February,” according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

A supermoon is a new or full moon that happens at the time of the month when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit.

During a supermoon, the moon appears 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than a micromoon, when our closest neighbor is farthest away in its orbit around Earth, NASA says.

The super snow moon officially crests Tuesday at 10:53 a.m. ET after the sun is already up, but if you catch it overnight Monday or Tuesday it will essentially look the same to the naked eye.

Hi Sheba! Hi Ladies!

I hope you have been well. I am better. It has just been a weird time for me so I have been staying very busy to keep my mind focused and not on sad things (anniversary of BIL (hubby’s brother – heart attack) and my other BIL (sister’s hubby – suicide). I hold on to the happy memories and it has been easier each year. I’ve been thinking of Amy because she has her Dad’s anniversary at the same time. I know you all are thinking of McPooPoo because of her wedding anniversary. It has kind of been the twilight zone lately (starting with those photos of mine, lol) and even other weird things which I am not even going to begin to mention (the day is too short). Mostly, the reason I have been gone is because I am shaken up a bit the last few days. My neighbor two doors down was murdered in their home. I am not even sure if it was the husband or wife who was murdered and no one else knows either. The house is wrapped in yellow tape. There were cops everywhere, the coroner, a chaplain from the police department. The most disturbing was the reality of the body rolled out on a stretcher with yellow tape tied around it. They are a young family, nice family with small kids, one being a baby still. They like to go for walks too and we often see them when out on our walks. I don’t know the circumstances so I don’t know if it was someone they knew or if someone broke in to their house. I have been so upset. All I can think about are those little kids. The house still has yellow tape and the investigators stop by every day. Nothing has been on the news or in the paper but that wouldn’t be the first time. A few years ago, a family around the corner was taken hostage and one of them was murdered. Swat was everywhere yet not a word in the paper or on the news. Oh, those little kids, their lives forever changed. Let’s hope they are too young to understand to be frightened.

On Iris Apfel; love her (as my mom would call it) spunk! My mom had plenty of it too! She was kind, wise, beautiful and a social butterfly. 😀 Sheba, do you have Iris’ book?

On Erma Bombeck; my mom loved her too! Had all her books. I am guilty of the cottage cheese statement. Also the one on dirt near my white living room sofa. Not guilty about complaining while being pregnant. Such a happy time in my life carrying my precious babies. 😀

Sheba, loved the little kitten seeing his reflection as a big tiger! Also loved the one of the Lion with the words “Patience is Power”. Nothing could be truer! 😀

Please don’t worry over 6 strawberries! I eat them all the time – plain ones. I don’t know if yours had chocolate or not but even if they did, that’s still not a lot of chocolate. My Dr says no one ever gets fat by eating too many apples. I think strawberries would apply here too. I’m glad you had a nice Valentine’s Day. 😀

You had four cats at one time? I would love to hear the stories! 😀 I have a lot too with my 15 cats! I do consider the ferals (Tammy-Tabitha, Alejandra and Bart) to be ours and will continue working on them. I am not giving up because I will never move out of this house without them. I hope we can get the garage done soon enough to get the girls in there at night. Still have not been able to trap them so I PRAY they don’t get pregnant!
I hope you can get a little kitten soon too! 😀 So many need homes! Maybe you can get two! 😀
