Hi! How have you been? I thought maybe you were on a trip to AZ since you haven’t posted lately.
Yes, Sheba’s post on slowing down was great! Very much needed in this world today. So, you are completely cutting cable? We are only cutting it as far as TV goes. We will still have it for internet. Still, it will cut back a lot of expenses.
Still haven’t picked up the new kittens yet but I will let you know when. They are being very well cared for and protected by their mommies. When they start venturing out in a few weeks is when I will be able to get closer. I don’t want to make mommies nervous.
No, I have not watched U tube’s Hope for Paws. I will check it out. And yes, all the pet costs scare me too! It is going to be SOOOOOO hard to give up the new kittens but I won’t unless I find really good homes with people I know will LOVE them all their lives, not just when they are fuzzy little kittens! If I have to take some to the shelter I help I can at least rest in knowing they won’t just give them to anyone either! They won’t give away any animal unless person and animal match and bond. All animals have to be fixed and get their shots before they are adopted out too. They also try to keep the animal families together. They are a wonderful no-kill facility. I really want to keep them all but I know I have a full house and can’t. It breaks my heart. I wish I had a bizillion dollars and mega land for the kitties. All kitties would be welcome then. I could have a live on premises vet and a cat park with lots of tunnels and ledges for them to climb. I would grow endless amounts of cat nip! Lol! Hey, a girl can dream, right? 😀Have a great day! 😀

Sheba, what a beautiful picture, nice bunnies and beverages too! That drink with the floating peep in it is so creative. Glad your bunny came out to let you know he/she was there. No chain saws for me either, but hay you go girl! I have used clippers in the back yard on bushes but nothing electrical and for good reason.
The Monster is just that and I am sad to read of your BIL.
I read your post about slowing down quickly (haha) and this is about where I am at currently. I am trying to focus and slow my pace just a bit.
Cherie, we liked hulu and may try it sometime soon. I think hubby mentioned hulu had more affordable premium movies. I remember the auto calls from the schools… yes, lots of numbers to change but so worth it 🙂
Kittengirl, Hope you are feeling well. All that animal pet costs scare me but it shows what great hearts you all have.

@Sheba,
AMEN to your words of wisdom today! The sooner a person realizes this and lives to take it in more fully, the better off they are! I really learned to do this when I first was diagnosed with UC. My dr’s advice was to surround myself with people and things I love. The rest doesn’t matter. Best advice ever and it taught me to just slow down, even in thinking! Yes, life can get cray-cray at times and that is when slowing down really helps to put things in perspective. Sometimes I just disconnect when I need to and just think of what I know to be true, which for me, is my faith. I am especially in need of this slowing down right now with all the things coming up.
Anyway, great words Sheba, and I just wanted to mention it. 😀 -
@Sheba,
Oh yes, I have spent a fortune too! I could have bought another house by now probably. Between our kitties, daughter’s kitties, son’s kitties (while he was in college)… it all adds up. We had a black lab for about 3 days. Our cat ( she had a heart condition) would have no part of it! We were worried that she would never accept her so we found a great home for her in my daughter’s friend’s home on the street behind us. We could hear when she was playing and barking. That dog was so loved and spoiled! 😀 We really wanted to keep her! We gave her the name of Sheila. Real sweetheart! She had found her way to us when she got lost. We found her “owner” who said obscenities to us and said we could keep her. So we planned on it. It just didn’t work out with our cat and she was our one and only spoiled cat at the time. Sheila had a very good life in her new home. 😀
Oh Sheba! You are much braver then I am! There is NO WAY I would handle a chain saw! I won’t go near them! And especially not with snakes in the yard! I would probably jump 6 feet and the chainsaw would fly and God knows what would happen! No, I will stick to hand shears and call in the pros to handle the heavy trimming.
LOL at when your kids brought home people! Too funny and I’m sure with 4 kids, that was a lot! I always loved it when the kids had their friends over. My house was packed when I made meatloaf. My son would call his friends and tell them “Mom made meatloaf”, and their response was always “be right over”! LOL. I had to make 3 meatloafs when I made it and two big bowls of mashed potatoes. I loved those days! 😀
Grandson is all better and back in school. Thank you for asking! I saw him on Sunday at the vet ER. He was excited to tell the vet all about his bunny and what she likes to eat and how she plays with one of the cats. He is just so adorable!
Well enjoy that bunny while the bunny season lasts! They sure are cute! Have a great walk tonight; maybe the bunny will join you! 😀
I had my morning walk but will probably walk again this evening. Last night we met the nicest older gentleman walking his bichon. Such cute little doggies. He said the dog’s name was Winston, after Winston Churchill. I told him we had a baby kitten once named Winston. It will be a year in June since we had those poor little angel babies. I think of them often. Thank God Bull survived.
Have a great day! 😀

Moody Blues
“The Afternoon: Forever Afternoon”Tuesday, afternoon,
I’m just beginning to see,
Now I’m on my way,
It doesn’t matter to me,
Chasing the clouds away.Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near,
I’ve got to find out why
Those gentle voices I hear
Explain it all with a sigh.I’m looking at myself, reflections of my mind,
It’s just the kind of day to leave myself behind,
So gently swaying thru the fairy-land of love,
If you’ll just come with me and see the beauty ofTuesday afternoon.

Doing Things Slowly
Take time to slow down, rushing never gets you anywhere but onto the next activity or goal.
Life can often feel like it’s zipping by in fast forward. We feel obliged to accelerate our own speed along with it, until our productivity turns into frenzied accomplishment. We find ourselves cramming as much activity as possible into the shortest periods of time. We disregard our natural rhythms because it seems we have to just to keep up. In truth, rushing never gets you anywhere but on to the next activity or goal.
Slowing down allows you to not only savor your experiences, but also it allows you to fully focus your attention and energy on the task at hand. Moving at a slower pace lets you get things done more efficiently, while rushing diminishes the quality of your work and your relationships. Slowing down also lets you be more mindful, deliberate, and fully present. When we slow down, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to reacquaint ourselves to our natural rhythms. We let go of the “fast forward” stress, and allow our bodies to remain centered and grounded. Slowing down is inherent to fully savoring anything in life. Rushing to take a bath can feel like an uncomfortable dunk in hot water, while taking a slow hot bath can be luxuriant and relaxing. A student cramming for a test will often feel tired and unsure, whereas someone who really absorbs the information will be more confident and relaxed. Cooking, eating, reading, and writing can become pleasurable when done slowly. Slowing down lets you become more absorbed in whatever it is you are doing. The food you eat tastes better, and the stories you read become more alive.
Slowing down allows you to disconnect from the frenzied pace buzzing around you so you can begin moving at your own pace. The moments we choose to live in fast forward motion then become a conscious choice rather than an involuntary action. Learning to slow down in our fast-moving world can take practice, but if you slow down long enough to try it, you may surprise yourself with how natural and organic living at this pace can be.

Cherie,
Thank you for your kind words you know I have said this a million times part of the reason
for this thread is to not think about it. Grant this is the first case on my husband side
of the family. I started this thread because of my father who has two types. I did not
know how to play in the Arcade when I began this journey so it just came to me and the
rest is history this is my diary of sorts. As i have said also I have met great people on this
Thread. ♥We are praying and at Mass he was on my mind along with all the others. I don’t do Mea culpa.
My place to get away would be Paris, France anywhere but here. I am planning things. I have
been helping my father with paper work and such. I have to talk to my sister in Colorado
everyday. Oh let’s not forget the Aunts. ♥ It’s all good I have everything in it’s order. I still
live a full life. This Thread is just a part of it. 🙂 Cherie thank you for your prayers I do need
them. I am so glad you understand the words of wisdom. This thread is my heart and soul and
that is what I put into it. No drama here. 🙂Cherie almost Easter basket time. ♥ Say hello to Captain and your mom. 🙂

Good Morning in the Rock and Roll City. Are you making the kids Easter Baskets this
year? How are doing so far? What has your grandson been up to I miss hearing stories
about him. Cool kid Loaf. I have a feeling he is a lot like you. ♥ -
Have a good day yes it take a lot of time to post. What I mean even on a thread that is
not as long as this one there are issues with posting. Somehow it all gets worked out.
It seems because I post so much I know little things to do to help me along. What’s on the menu for Easter? We are having a sunny day today but that will change
tomorrow. 🙂 -
I have done all the holidays for the last 5 years on this Thread. I’ve always done eggs, rabbits
and such for Easter and of course major holidays. I try to stay in sync with HSN.Yes it was a Nest of Snakes! I had my neighbor remove them for me and some people
like them in their yards. I hear they are good for mother nature not good for me because
I would not know a snake!!!I had my chain saw in my hand and I worked around the nest. I went and put on my garden
boots. If I have a chain saw it is not wise to surprise me. 🙂I hope your grandson is doing better and hugs to the kittens. Kitten that is a huge
responsibility and I have spent a fortune and then some on cats. My kids would bring
him everything! Oh but when they started to bring people home that is what I said NO!Enjoy the kitties I am looking for the bunny he does not want me to see him. ♥ I don’t know
but for some reason he likes to be out at night. Oh he has no idea I am the queen of the night.
MEOW! -
This is mine. ♥♥♥
