Good Morning Sheba! Good Morning Ladies!
Sheba, how is the bunny? I heard of tornadoes in Georgia. I hope not near your kids! You keep holding your head up high there in OZ. You are showing your love for your father by being cordial. Peace is very underrated. Family matters can be very difficult at times, just hang in there! Hugs to Poppy! 😀
I hope everyone has had a good weekend! As for me, busy, but good because I have accomplished so much that I set out to do! 😀 On Friday, my garage looked like something out of Hoarders, and by 7pm last night it looked like a normal garage (with lots of stuff), stacked high on both sides with large plastic bins. Still more to do but until the kitchen is renovated, there is not much more I can do. I have filled at least 7 more boxes full of more stuff for charity (DVD players, keyboards, movies, books, arts and crafts supplies, garden planters, Christmas decor). I am hoping I have time to go through more before they pick it up. Today we are tackling my husbands shelf units and clearing those out. We only have one month to get this all down to manageable amounts to be able to move outside to the back patio before the work starts on garage. We worked from 7am – 7pm last night with only a short break to eat lunch. Today we are doing front yard work then tackling the shelves. Hubby is pushing the HUGE elliptical we have out there on to the driveway and putting a for sale sign. That will give us an opportunity to get the center floor scrubbed. I bought that thing on sale for $1200-$1300 and hoping to sell for $700. At the very least, $500. It will be nice to get it out of here. Until we have a bigger house, no more gym equipment for me (other than a smaller scale treadmill)! This elliptical is HUGE!
@bichon18,
Your words on Ann Frank house were haunting. I was glad to see it through your eyes though. She was my heroine as a young girl and it is good to know she is still effecting and teaching others. It gives me hope to know there were many young people there. I think the schools fail our youth by not really teaching history from that time anymore. I hate the growing anti-semitism in the world. I also hate the growing anti-Christian movement, or the intolerance for anything that isn’t so-called “politically correct”.
Sad that Harry Potter would outsell Ann Frank’s Diary. Sad commentary. This is too early in the morning for me.
I am glad you had a great time in Europe (even though some feelings were/are unpleasant). Glad you are safely home with little Ari.@deeklez,
So nice to see you post! I have missed you! Give Sadie cat a big hug from me and all the kitties! (We have new baby kittens, 2 weeks old on Wednesday!) 😀 I’m doing ok, surgery soon. Yep, I know I fought it but tired of being so tired and on these meds. Thank you for asking and thank you for the hugs. Hope you are doing better and hugs back at you! 😀@loaf,
I am glad your family made it back safely from Africa! I was just wondering about them the other day and meant to ask because I haven’t read anything about them and didn’t know if they were still traveling. Glad they are home. I’ve always dreamed of going there but I may never go now. I hope they had a trip of a life time!@Cherie,
Oh, I understand about taking your time after your loss of sweet Simba. If I hadn’t had my other kitties I would have never been able to move past that kind of loss (I still feel it). But since I did have the others, we all helped each other with our grief. Yes, our fur babies grieve too and it’s heart breaking to see. Take your time. You will know when you are ready to love another fur baby. And when you do, just think of it as honoring her (and your other fur babies) by giving your love to another.@southernlights55, Taci,
I hope you are doing well. Hugs to Bear. Safe trails!Hugs and kitty hugs to ALL! Garage is calling me… and I have to trim the ferns and cut some roses in the front. Another busy day. Hugs… 😀

Hi Sheba;
As we approach the Holiday week; may I say what a pleasure it is to have you in my life. You bring so much to so many. Thank you.
It took us seven or so hours to get back from Europe by air and get to Europe by air. However, we had connections from Zurich to Amsterdam and then on the way home Newark to West Palm Beach. You need to allow a good portion of a day with connections and such. We had eleven full days in Europe but thirteen days away counting flights.
As for the Anne Frank Museum….no words can describe how one felt. The steepness of the stairs to the hiding place, the pictures of movie stars in the room in which she slept that her father hung up for her when he knew they would go into hiding, the smallness of the space that eight people survived in for two years. The aftermath of the gestapo roundup of these people, the righteous Christians who hid them risking their own lives and the lives of their families. Stop. We ached for all of them with deep pain. Anne could be any child.
Until a Harry Potter; Anne’s diary was second only to the Bible in sales. She left an indelible mark on those whose life she touched. What a Jerry was most impressed with were the number of young people visiting her hiding place. I cannot call it her house although it some ways it was her home. Seeing young people makes me feel the horror cannot be swept under the rug of forgotten, denied history.
My sadness dissolved into anger when I think about the anti-semitism that is brewing like boiling coffee that will not wake us up. It is horrific and it is in many places including our universities which should know the cost of such bigotry.
Read about Otto Frank and how he knew there was a storm in Frankfurt and brought his family to a beautiful and new apartment complex in Amsterdam where Anne played in the park, ate ice cream and smelled her mother’s baking in their new home. Their home until the scourge of Hitler’s Nazi movement reached the Netherlands.
Oh boy, did I feel it.
The little girl, the teenager who thought she would leave no mark, the prisoner who starved and died of typhus so close to liberation.
May the murderers of six million Jews and countless Homosexuals, mentally handicapped, Gypsies, innocent countrymen all rot in .
Sorry, but I am not happy with what I feel and see.
There are no good Nazis period.

My Dear Sheba … Cherie knows you don’t “hate” her. The “turmoil” I was speaking of was or is between your parents. It is Wonderful to read your Mom & Dad have chosen to do the best they know how and continue to love their children …. That is respectable. Turning the page, Yup the Badlands (one of Captain’s “must see” shows) is coming to an end … I hope it “ends well”. Last week I stocked up on CoQ, Ginger root, & Essential 1. Thanks for the SKINN announcement … I’ll mark my calendar. Yes, The Beginning of Holy Week … Amen. Cherie is waving under the light of the Moon at ya Sheba♥ …. Take Care Everybody!

DEAR DEE THANK YOU FOR THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY . HUGS TO YOU . HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL . NICE TO SEE YOU . LOVE LOAF .

Sheba, so wonderful your child has siblings around and a place to go! It must help you too to know there is a safe place to go when needed.
There were some nice desert type flowers on my hike, yellows, and blue with some white and orange. We did see a large rattler on the side of the path yesterday. It rattled, we ran back from our direction, then my hubby took a video of it since it was staying loud and strong in its place under a bush very close the side of the path. It was holding its ground for sure. This was very unusual.
Maybe there are more than a few good reasons to walk the malls :).
Hope all had a great Palm Sunday ( hope thatsok to say) or a great Sunday, you pick!

Hi Sheba;
Wrote you a long answer to your greetings of a couple of days ago. It is a little further down on the page.
First day I feel a little less jet lag.
Oh my.
