Welcome to conversation – 15. This is number 15 of this thread.
We are in TAY. This Thread is three years old.
I hope you enjoy this as it covers music, fashion and most of all
Heidi Daus. I am an Avid Collector. ♥ my focus is fashion being a former
fashion model. As a singer I cover lots of old school music and popular and
show tunes. Movies are a must. We talk about a lot of things in Conversation.
Please remember this is TAY! I am still learning the new system so bear with me.
Blessings to you all. ♥ Happy Holidays ♥

Hi Loaf! Hope you have a great Easter with the grand-kids! My hubby’s birthday is coming up too! What day is your hubby’s? Maybe they are on the same day! 😀 I believe Sheba’s hubby is coming up too – if I remember correctly he is a Taurus like mine and we are both Leos. Oh my, what a combination! LOl!
Have a good one! Hugs to Bella! 😀

Did you bring back any tulip bulbs? Did you take lots of pictures?
Glad your SAS walking shoes worked out. I bought some last year but they are in need of replacing. I have worn Brooks before and I have bough Easy Spirit from HSN. Both those brands are very comfy. I don’t know if they carry wide wide but check them out. I have a med foot but the SAS seem a little narrow in the foot and wider in the ankle which doesn’t give me much ankle support. Brooks have been my faves.
I agree, hatred has to stop with the individual so it doesn’t spread. Unfortunately, there will always be hatred and evil so we have to work on ourselves to bring light and love to this world.Do you use your elliptical? Mine is a huge “professional” one and takes up so much room. I must have been insane when I bought it. It is not the same size as the ones at the gym, nor is it that easy to use. If I don’t sell it soon I will have to donate it. Expensive mistake. I hate that – makes me feel guilty.
My house is small. Only (I forget exactly) 1325 or 1375 sq. ft. but it is designed well with no wasted space so it doesn’t seem as small, but the reality is that it IS too small for us and the kitties. Our washer/dryer used to be in the garage but we “borrowed” space from the garage and built a laundry room/ litter box room and installed a pet door from the family room so kitties could access that room. There is a nice security door with a pet screen so they can look outside from that room too. We had a wall put in to close up the living room and added interior french doors so we could have a “kitty-free zone”. (Thank God, I only have to clean in there once a week!) The family room is connected to the kitchen and that is where we all hang out with the kitties. 😀
So, you ask, how do we do it? We keep at it every day. Litter boxes are scooped out many times daily, washed out every 5-7 days. We sweep, vacuum, swiffer, and mop floors every day. We steam mop once a week. We have tile floors throughout house except bedrooms so the fur/dust bunnies move at warp speed. We dust and wash off tables every day (multiple times). We use ionizers and use organic citrus oil spray because it doesn’t bother them or us. We try to brush them every couple of days but some are not cooperative while others love it. I wash walls and woodwork once a month (or more often if needed). We work very hard at keeping the house as clean as possible when you live with so many kitties. Our house is a lot cleaner than many people who DON’T have fur babies. I have heard people say cats are easier than dogs but I think that is said by people who don’t have many cats and don’t possibly understand or know how hard we work. Any way, that’s how we do it and it takes the two of us. I think when our daughter is graduated next year we will hire help once a month or bi-weekly for deep cleaning. I wish we could do it now. I REALLY wish we could do it now. 😀
Have a good one Amy! Hugs to Ari! 😀 -
Thank you for the update on Bear. I am glad to know he is back to his sweet and sassy self! 😀
Hey, I understand about the soft foods, I have to eat them myself until the dental surgery happens and then I’m sure for a couple weeks afterward. I am not looking forward to that.Glad to hear you love your Rose Elegance necklace and you don’t find it TOO heavy! Some of her necklaces and earrings can get very heavy. Have you worn your House of Daus yet? I know you have quite a collection of Heidi, like Sheba. I haven’t counted mine but it is not large. My overall jewelry is quite large and I am hoping to go through it next week and downsize some more.
My goal for 2019 is to organize and downsize my “stuff”. I have to really think about what I really want or need or has sentimental value to me. I ended up returning the DB bag I bought as a TS. The color was wrong for me and I just didn’t “need” it. Funny though, how I can turn my “wants” into “needs” on occasion. I am going to get more honest about that. I had to laugh when you said that many of us can relate to the garage looking like a hoarders haven. Lately I have been watching videos on organizing, downsizing and even some hoarders for motivation to NEVER let it get that bad! My garage was pretty bad but it is mostly due to the fact that things were packed up during renovations and thrown into garage. I have tile out there, closet doors, slate stone, drywall, grout, just so much! I can’t wait for it to be totally clean and done. I am going to use one of the closet doors as my work table. The other one can be donated. The reason I started this project (organizing/downsizing) this year is because I would never want my kids to have to deal with cleaning out my garage when I’m gone. It’s just not fair to give them that stress. I’m going to do it now while I can. I am just trying to be practical and keep ahead of life, which, as we know, happens…
Lol @ your hubby – pick up and carry out! Mine too! He always mans the George Foreman. His main job around here is scooping the litter box and for that he deserves to wear a crown! 😀
Have a good one! Hugs to Bear! 😀 -
@Sheba,
Thank you for posting that history on the Notre Dame Cathedral. I had no idea it was built that long ago or that it took 182 years to complete! Wow! Paris is one of my visits on my list and there are so many interesting places to see there. It was really sad to see it on the news burning, the tower falling. All of that history gone. So sad. I did hear many of the artifacts were saved, including the crown of thorns believed to be worn by Christ. I am hoping the cause of the fire was due to explainable and acceptable causes, not from the result of arson.
I am glad your kids are ok from those tornadoes and horrible storms that ripped through their state. What a worry you must have had!
No, son won’t be down for Easter. My daughter and grandson won’t be here either. They are going down to see MIL which I think is more important for daughter to see her grandmother and for grandson to see his great-grandmother! MIL is so excited and they will probably also meet the new baby! Everyone is excited to see them!
Hubby and I will just have a quiet relaxing day and probably go out to dinner or just share a simple meal here. We usually have an Easter egg hunt in the backyard for grandson so I will miss doing that but with the kittens in hiding it is probably for the best. I’m just happy they get to go down there. We will be taking care of their kitties and bunny. We are taking a break from garage today. I am working on nightstands and bathroom drawers and cabinets. I am not one with much room for products so I tend to buy only what I know to like so the bathroom won’t be too bad. The nightstand, on the other hand… I use the bottom drawer as my paper junk drawer where I put things I don’t have time to deal with and the goal is to go through it once a month. Yeah, right! LOL! I am taking my drawer back today and making a fabric basket into my paper junk box and will keep in my armoire with the TV, stereo, some CD’s and a few movies. I use the bottom drawer for my daily meds (to re-fill my pill box which I carry at all times in my purse), small dumb-bells and any product overflow (unopened or rarely used) from bathroom (storage space in bathroom is very minimal, lucky for me I am very low- maintenance). It feels so good to purge and organize. I mean, who needs 15 different colors of nail polish? I will keep my faves.
Hubby just left with Roberto for vet to get that bald spot on his neck and chin checked out. He appears to have a sore under his chin. I am worried.
What is on your agenda today? Are you still spring cleaning? Hugs to Poppy! 😀That was a close call with that rattlesnake! You would have heard me scream from miles away! Especially if those canyons echo! Lol! I am glad you are safe! Do you hike in long pants, long sleeves and hiking boots? Please be careful! Those snakes mean business! I think it’s baby season too so they might be even more protective and defensive.
Hey, our ducks laid eggs! How exciting! Soon we will see little baby ducklings around here! So adorable! 😀 Can it be any cuter around here with baby kittens and baby ducklings? 😀 😀 😀@Cherie,
Thank you so much for the kind words about spreading the love. That is actually one of the nicest things someone can say to me, so THANK YOU very much! 😀
I never knew it was Sheba who gave you your name! I thought Cherie was your real name! I remember how the Captain became Captain. It was when Sheba said her hubby was Cool Hand Luke. I won’t say who my hubby looks like because y’all won’t be able to keep from wanting to get your hands on him! LOL! jk. Hubby looks like himself – a 6″1″ ex-jock with bad knees. Green eyes, Italian. Just keeping it real. LOL. 😀I am worried I am taking too long posting and this will go poof so I will post separately to bichon18 and southernlights55.
Hope all have a good day! Hugs and kitty hugs! 😀

Ruby Tuesday
The Rolling StonesShe would never say where she came from
Yesterday don’t matter if it’s gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows, she comes and goes
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you
Don’t question why she needs to be so free
She’ll tell you it’s the only way to be
She just can’t be chained
To a life where nothing’s gained
Or nothing’s lost, at such a cost
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you
“There’s no time to lose, ” I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind
Ain’t life unkind?
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you
Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss youMick Jagger get well soon glad your heart surgery was a success. ♥

Living a Spiritual Life
Remembering who we really are is the first step in awakening to our spiritual path.
Throughout the journey from birth to death, many people choose to question life, strive for improvement, seek out knowledge, and search for the divine. Simply put, this is the essence of spirituality. One’s spiritual practice can take on many forms, because embracing the spiritual is a very personal pursuit. While many people do relate their spirituality to a God or Goddess, this quest for the divine, or oneness with the universe, always springs from within. It doesn’t matter where you find your spiritual path. We are all fundamentally spiritual beings and the essence of that lies in knowing one’s true self and finding a peace that comes from within rather than the outside world. It is in remembering this that we awaken to our personal path.
The spiritual path springs forth from a daily routine that reaffirms our personal connection with a purpose or a way of life. Practicing compassion, gratitude, appreciation, forgiveness, generosity, meditation, and taking care of one’s wellbeing can all be a part of one’s spiritual life. If you are new to exploring your personal spirituality, remember that this is a process. You may want to spend a few moments each day giving yourself a spiritual gift. Try a new form of meditation, visit a sanctuary, or explore a specific deity.
Accepting the importance of spirituality can be a healthy decision, because a spiritual practice tends to include habits that promote healthy living. Take the time to carefully determine the action, thought, and ritual that most speaks to your soul. Remember that your most profound spiritual experiences may also come from the simple intricacies that make up your life. See the interconnectedness of all things. As you explore your “inner work,” you will be walking your spiritual path and feeling your oneness with the universe.
