Good Afternoon in Florida. This is the last day for Yom Kippur. Glad things may
be working out on you getting back to the North. I am wishing you and your husband
a blessed day. Oodie I was looking at my father’s headstone and it is so beautiful.

I took pictures for the family and I spent some time at my father’s gravesite.
It was a somber day but the sun was out and there were signs of life everywhere.
I miss him so much more than words can ever say. Like I said things comes in waves
and I never know when one will hit. I am like ole man river I just keep moving along.
That is a song I love by the way. 😎 Moving forward good luck with driving back I
think you will be alright how the world has changed in just 2020 alone for everyone.

The signs of fall will be all around you when you travel on the road. 😘

We added up the cost of flying and the ordeal is prohibitive when you add in a rental car to the airport, driving own vehicle and parking near the airport, park and fly, rental car at the other airport, gas, weekly cost, wifi (if we can find something that we can do without a contract). Also with driving, we do not need reservations except for the places we will be staying overnight and in case our dentist needs to see us later in November, it will be OK. We still have a few more things to look at and also the Covid criteria for each State we will be a guest overnight or for several nights. We will grocery shop on route. Don’t be surprised if we end up staying until Spring.

It is quite muggy and hot here in Florida. Rain is expected today through Wednesday with an increase in percentage for the event each day. We expect a cool down Wednesday when our temps will become more seasonable. That is, low to mid 80s during the day and 70s at night. However, I just saw that some of the evenings could actually be in the mid 60s. Good sleeping weather with no A/C, a blessing. Windows opened. Not that easy since the gecko’s can find their way in no matter what.

Missing your dad is understandable. If there is room for a bench it would be nice to put one near the grave. That way you can sit and contemplate as well as talk to your dad. It will be easier than sitting on the grass or standing for long periods of time. If there is room, even for a small seat, you can price it and then see if your brothers and sisters are game for chipping in.

Tonight is the beginning of Yom Kippur. Tomorrow is the difficult part when we ask for forgiveness for all the sins we committed in the last year. It is also the time when we reflect on the loss of our loved ones within the past year and those who have been gone for awhile. There is a service for this as well and usually starts about an hour or two prior to the closing service. I have yet to get through this part without becoming emotionally drained. At least, for the next 29 hours or so, I will not be thinking of the trip North.

Good afternoon to you. Taking it easy today. Hubby went up to mom’s and did a couple heavy things that she and I would have a hard time doing. Then he stopped at a BBQ food truck and picked up dinner so no cooking for me. Another beautiful day in the ‘burgh but cooling off latter part of the week. We usually get your weather a few days later.

BIL now in the hospital, seems like it is never ending this year. It is not covid but he has had many issues over the years from a mining accident. Planning lunch on Thursday with our best friends for her birthday. We haven’t done anything with them since March. Looking forward to a nice afternoon.

Jake is ready for some BBQ, he is staying close to the kitchen counter with the good smells! You, hubby and Poppy are invited. 🍂🍂

I know that his life was only entrusted to me for a season, that our times are in Your hands, and that You have scheduled each day of our lives, but I did not expect that he would be called home before me.
 
Pour out Your loving comfort and strength to me Lord, and to all of us who feel his loss so acutely. May we draw closer to each other and to You as we say our farewells for a season, as we wait for that blessed hope when once again we will all be reunited in Your heaven. May Your peace and joy and hope in believing, comfort us all at this time. This I ask in Jesus’ name,

Yep, the wifi is the last hurdle. Will not be checking e-mail, purchasing, going on threads in a parking lot or within a coffee shop. Even a hotel/motel poses problems. I am going to check on a few things. There are some possibilities and I need to inform whomever that it will be no more than 30 days. Just wish that our tvs in New England were SMART. So, not having a TV is OK.

Things are getting done. Slower pace than usual, but at least when one bag is emptied and another bin as well, it’s time to do that jump for joy. Back is holding up, thus far. “Knock on wood.”

Now hubby wants to drive. Go figure. The price was great on air fare. Only problems were parking which would be around $10-$15/day or renting a car from one airport to another @ $60. When you add everything together it is more than staying several nights somewhere and eating out as well. I’m still checking things out to see what else I can come up with.

Now, back to work on cleaning. Talk to you later.

I just came from the living room where I have piled the items that are being donated. I cannot believe that all the “things” came from my closet. Tomorrow, the shoes. Then I can itemize and take a ride Tuesday. Sizing down is fun knowing someone will enjoy the clothing which are in perfect and quite a few brand new condition. I just wish hubby would do the same. I thought that when he saw what I did it would give him an incentive. Oh well…….I am not the type to nag.

I sort of gave up on some things dealing with a return trip North. For instance I looked at park and fly to no avail. Thought of staying overnight and do a shuttle from a hotel/motel. Some question with that idea. Driving ourselves would be the best way and then we could stay longer or shorter depending upon the problems we find. I managed to find a wifi connection with internet. Hubby said no because he did not trust the servicer. I was just happy it was not our cable service. Still have some other ideas. Will wait until Tuesday for that.

Guess I can now call it a night. Before I go, those 3 kittens are adorable. Why not name them eenie, meenie and moe. Looks like they are too young to leave mama. They are cuties. Just do not know if they are all females or males. Have a nice evening. Enjoy the cooler temps. We are supposed to get a front either Tuesday or Wednesday that will bring cooler temps and no humidity for us as well.

The Kol Nidre service on Sunday will begin at 8pm. It is the most beautiful service and the music is something not to be missed. Hubby and I have been watching this on our Comp;uters when we somehow came across the Central Synagogue in NYC.. I believe no matter what religion you are, you will find the music so relaxing and wonderful. This synagogue goes all out for the Holidays. I do not think anyone in this thread would be bored. The beginning service is magnificent and lasts for a few minutes. And this being Covid, they certainly will pull out all the stops. Oops. Got to get back to trivia.

Well, I have been checking on flights. They are very inexpensive. Actually, I am dumbfounded. The rates are lower than staying one or two nights at different hotels. My only question is do we have to quarantine ourselves in the State we fly into. Nothing is really clear. We may even get tested for the Covid so we have something in writing 75 hours prior to arrival. We also have paperwork to bring with us. Another concern is Wifi. Since we do not have a cable connection at either house we have to decide what to do. Hubby forgets that I do almost everything on line and if there is a problem on our return to Florida I will have no way to check e-mail or even use our printer. This is important, so will check around before committing to any travel plans. I am the type of person that has to have all the i’s dotted and all the t’s crossed and all my questions answered. On that note, will finish folding clothes and then getting some sleep.

You need Wifi in case you have an emergency. Let me think about this I am sure there
is a way you can get Wifi only. Here in Oz I don’t have to get a whole package I only get
what I need and I can drop the service anytime. I have Time Warner I have cable and Wifi.

My Cell is through another Cell Company. I will try to help you find a solution don’t sweat
this.

I also have Wifi on my Iphone lets look at everything.

Hi Sheba – Took mom to two grocery stores and Walmart. Bought all kind of food for tomorrow and after we got home………sister called and is not coming tomorrow. She had some last minute plumbing problems at her house and won’t be here until the middle of October. So I still have a few Mom Fridays. No problem, just glad it happened while she was home and not here. She says she owes me at least a bottle of wine for the extra couple of weeks, I said okay, ha, ha. Have a good evening. My son has been giving me kisses since I was gone so long.💗

Peeling away the layers of an event or incident can be a fun and interesting process if you allow it. To begin, relive your experience in your mind’s eye and from multiple perspectives if possible. Your interpretation of any situation is based not only on facts but also on feelings, beliefs, and your values. As you ruminate upon your experience, spend a few moments contemplating how you felt when it began and how your feelings had changed by its end. Ask yourself what abstractions, if any, it awakened in your mind.
