At tonight’s Met Gala, Serena Williams wore a stunning yellow creation by Atelier Versace on the red carpet—but it was what was underneath that embellished skirt and train that really stole the show. The tennis pro embraced her sportive roots for this evening’s camp theme, slipping on a pair of highlighter green Nike x Off-White Air Force One sneakers, logo’d with “Air” on them. It was an unexpected accessory, but somehow totally worked, as it matched the hue of her off-the-shoulder gown perfectly. (That particular shade also recalled a tennis ball—how fitting.)

It’s not the first time Williams has embraced sneakers in a more formal setting. She actually wore bedazzled sneakers on her wedding day. Tonight, she dressed up her low-tops yet again, this time with a subtle flourish: a beaded anklet. The style also happens to be a classic New York shoe, a way to pay homage to the city that the Met Gala has been hosted in for years.

A fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the event welcomes celebrity stars, young creatives, and industry paragons alike. And the excitement doesn’t stop there—the gala also signifies the highly anticipated grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition: “Camp: Notes on Fashion” opening on May 9, 2019.

Yesterday, I got a call while Jerry was on his bike. It was from him. I went to get him in the SUV but what a scare. He had a baseball-sized bruise on his hip and cuts and bruises on his elbows, legs and knees. I took him for x-rays and luckily, no hip break. However, it scared the life out of me. His biking partners helped put the bike in the car and he rested for much of the day. He is fine. What caused it? A balloon was in his way. A balloon!

Ari sat next to Daddy all night. Good boy.

Today I did forty minutes on the elliptical followed by a half-hour swim. Now, it is raining. I made sauce this morning so jerry’s dinner is nearly ready.

Tell Poppy that Ari is thinking of him.

Off to see what is on clearance on HSN. I need nothing….

Good Morning to you and Captain. I always do an encore on a great movie. I will see it this
week and I will wait to write about it this weekend. I don’t want to spoil it for those who have
not seen it. I did have a great Sunday. We got a lot done in the yards this weekend.

I was so tired I did the Perlier/1802 and I fell into a blissful sleep. I had talked to my Aunt
and she is doing fine she was super close to my cousin. Thank you for your understanding.
When I do this thread I don’t have to think much. I hope kitten checks in soon just want to
know if all is well.

I am sorry you and your husband have been through a lot too. Circle of life. We will all be fine.

Amy you will not believe it but I got the Jacket a few minutes ago. Let me tell you it does
not have the beads on the back so you can sit on this. The fit is perfect and it is a spring
and fall early winter jacket. I plan to wear this with some of my bird necklaces and pins.
Amy this was almost 400.00 I got it for 79.00. I was shocked! I am a happy camper I
needed just a little something to lift my spirits. So much going on in my family.

How are you and Jerry? Here to a great day in Florida for once we are WARM today.
We still have storms coming tomorrow so I will enjoy the present.

Hugs to little Ari from Poppy and me. Any news on the Heidi Daus TS? Josey is trying
to find out I will post more pics on the Heidi Daus Thread. I will be here off and on today.

What You Think Is What You Get

You don’t have to know how it will come into your life, just lay the groundwork, follow leads, and prepare for its arrival.

The law of attraction is surprisingly simple: Like attracts like. It becomes a bit more complicated when it comes to training our minds to think in ways that will bring what we desire into our lives. The term “self-fulfilling prophecy” describes the same law. This well-known term explains that we create the circumstances our mind dwells upon, whether positive or negative. So our goal is to practice consistent presence of mind to make sure our thoughts are always directed toward the positive and what we want to create.

A key to the process is the word “frequency.” This is true for two reasons: 1) The frequency you use when you passionately dwell upon or revisit a thought, dream, desire, or goal provides the energy your musings need for creation; and 2) just like a radio station broadcasts on a certain frequency, like the radio you must be “tuned in” to receive it. This means preparing for the arrival of your dream on every possible level–material, physical, and spiritual. You don’t have to know how it will come into your life, just trust that it will. Your job is to lay the groundwork, follow any leads you can find, and prepare for its arrival. This can mean cleaning out your garage to make space for a new car, taking a tour of a model home to get the feel of it in order to feed your fantasies, or thinking of what you want in a mate and then living up to that list yourself.

Just like with any skill, the law of attraction must be practiced. We must decide what makes us feel abundant and use our imagination to create the feeling. It isn’t enough to just want something–you must use the power of your thoughts to attract it. A series of choices is what brings us everything in our lives right now, every moment. When we know the direction in which we want our choices to take us, it is as if we’ve placed an order with the universe. We can then await its arrival with joyful anticipation. If we find ways to experience our dreams right now, we make creating joy a treasure hunt in which the seeking is just as much fun as the finding.
