Welcome to conversation – 15. This is number 15 of this thread.
We are in TAY. This Thread is three years old.
I hope you enjoy this as it covers music, fashion and most of all
Heidi Daus. I am an Avid Collector. ♥ my focus is fashion being a former
fashion model. As a singer I cover lots of old school music and popular and
show tunes. Movies are a must. We talk about a lot of things in Conversation.
Please remember this is TAY! I am still learning the new system so bear with me.
Blessings to you all. ♥ Happy Holidays ♥

I think I would look twice if i saw 3 GREAT PYRENEES Too. Beautiful dogs.

Hello Bichon18. Yes, I did graduate in 1971. What about yourself? I read in an earlier post today that you are also a rescue mom. Happy to meet you.
-
We have had very bad weather in my state a lot of pets and people are hurting.
I do what I can. I am a animal lover cats and dogs. I have never had a pet I did not rescue.
My poppy sticks to me like glue. I love him. Storms are on the way again. -
Welcome to Flower Child 71. Flower Cild, did you graduate in 71?
-
That’s my baby or a combination of Ari and all the doggies I have loved before. So very sweet. How do you do this?
Have not watched the Rarities yet but I did do the Peleton. It is such a good item. I hope it is helping.
Okay, tonight I made an Omelette for dinner. That is my cooking for today. It is 90 degrees here and although the house is cool….Blech to cooking. Tomorrow Jerry is out with the boys, I have a Mah Jongg. Wednesday dinner out with our neighbors who will soon go North for the summer. Do you know that summer is Florida’s best kept secret? Great specials at tony restaurants. A little less traffic and no one has to get used to the water in the pool.
Okay…..Sheba did you see the TSV on QVC by Lisa Rinna. These long flowy pants that come in a petite, regular and TALL length. I called my SIL to have a look.
Nice to see new members on this thread. For me it is nearly a year. You all make me feel very welcome.
Ari waving at Poppy.

Oh, Sheba, bichon and 71flowerchild, I love you rescue moms! I am one, too, and I volunteer at an animal shelter. I have tried fostering also but that is tough. Once they’re in my house, they are mine and it is so hard to let them go. If I was rich, I would have acres and acres to keep them all, kind of like Doris Day. I just can’t believe there are so many unwanted or abused animals. My heart aches for them and if I can help just one animal have a great day, that is my mission. My rescued chocolate lab is 8 years old and he is like velcro on me. “Every step I take, every move I make, I’ll be watching you” is his mantra with me. You are my friends forever for what you do.

Giving Away Power
We can avoid giving away our power on a daily basis by listening to our own voice of knowing.
In many ways, we are taught from the time we are children to give away our power to others. When we were told to kiss and hug relatives or friends of the family when we didn’t want to, for example, we were learning to override our inner sense of knowing and our right to determine for ourselves what we want to do. This repression continued, most likely, in many experiences at school and in situations at work. At this point, we may not even know how to hold on to our power, because giving it away is so automatic and ingrained.
To some degree, giving our energy to other people is simply part of the social contract, and we feel that we have to do it in order to survive. It is possible to exchange energy in a way that preserves our inner integrity and stability. This begins in a small way: by listening to the voice that continues to let us know what we want, no matter how many times we override its messages.
Other examples of how we give away our power are buying into trends, letting other people always make decisions for us, not voting, and not voicing an opinion when an inappropriate joke is made. But with not giving our power away we must also be aware of the opposite side, which is standing in our power but being aggressive. Being aggressive is a form of fear, and the remedy is to let our inner balance come back into play.
As we build a relationship with our power, and follow it, we begin to see that we don’t always have to do what we’re being asked to do by others, and we don’t have to jump on every trend. All we have to do is have the confidence to listen to our own voice and let it guide us as we make our own decisions in life and remember the necessity for balance.

Oh Sheba, that little Dachshund picture brought tears to my eyes. Love those eyes and that curious little face—-just like my Little D. He makes me laugh every day. Jewel is my serious one, lovable but serious. So glad to hear you are a rescue mom too. I’ve always said, they find me. Before these two, I had 3 Great Pyrenees we rescued. We always drew a crowd when we walked those. I wish we would get some rain. We are hot, humid and dry, but then that is our climate here. I’m off to the store to get bird food. My cardinals are perched on my mountain laurel trees waiting. Thank you for making my day with that picture and for welcoming me into the community.
