Another storm coming our way. I hope the beautiful Harvest Moon was not a “Bad Moon Rising'”.

Sheba Dear ….Oh, the need is Great for everyone affected by this latest Tragedy. It is Amazing to see so many pull together financially giving, praying, and physically doing what they could. Something as easy as Encouraging Words and Giving blood is LIFESAVING in times such as these. Love the story about the broom but when Cherie left home, it stayed there. After a windy night I VACUUM my porch, sidewalk, and LAWN …. My husband just laughs. Love the story about the Harvest Moon … We drove home from Vegas by the Bright Light of the Moon for Miles … it was Beautiful !

@taci …. Candy Corn … Mmmm ! A few years ago my favorite cookies made their double stuff filling taste like Candy Corn … Those cookies never made it to Halloween ….

@mooncat3 … Cherie is so Jelly you got to see Tom Petty. He was a favorite of my Husbands. Tom performed here at the HOLLYWOOD BOWL …. RIGHT in my own BACKYARD! We were SO busy at that time and we thought we had Forever … Right?

All the crazy things happening were after the eclipse. I know it coincidence but it’s just one thing after another.
Cherie, glad you safely returned from LV!

I am happy to report that the only store selling candy corn suitable as Halloween Candy (in the little individual bags) had a few bags left and I nabbed some. It’s fun to give out Halloween themed candy and we gets lot and lots of kids of all ages.

Mooncat, glad you got the Tom Petty concert. Sorry about the loss.

The Harvest moon is the name given to the first full moon rising closest to the autumnal equinox – when the sun shines almost directly over the equator.

For us in the Northern Hemisphere, the Harvest moon is rising late this year.

Usually it occurs before the equinox in September, but in 2017 the Harvest moon will actually be in October.

It took place on the night of October 5th.

The Harvest moon symbolised when farmers would need to start gathering in the food to prepare for the lean winter months. Sometimes, they did this by the light of the moon.
