“Stand By Me” Ben E. King
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we’ll see
No, I won’t be afraid
Oh, I won’t be afraid
Just as long as you stand
Stand by meSo darlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh, stand by me
Oh, stand, stand by me
Stand by meIf the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won’t cry, I won’t cry
No, I won’t shed a tear
Just as long as you stand
Stand by meAnd darlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh, stand by me
Oh, stand now, stand by me
Stand by meDarlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh, stand by me
Oh, stand now, stand by me
Stand by me
Whenever you’re in trouble, won’t you stand by me?
Oh, stand by me
Won’t you stand now?
Oh, stand, stand by me

Wisdom Of The OwlOwls are patient messengers, bringers of information and the holders of wisdom and capable of seeing the unseen.
For as long as humankind has recognized animals as teachers, wise men and women have recognized traits worthy of respect in both wild and domestic creatures. The cultural and spiritual significance of certain animals transcends geographical boundaries, unifying disparate peoples. Not so the majestic and mysterious owl, which has over many millennia served as the focal point of numerous contradictory beliefs. Though owls have been regarded with awe and fascination, they have also inadvertently served as agents of fear. Since owls are nocturnal, human-owl encounters tended to occur at night and likely when the bird was swooping silently down to earth to grapple with prey. Yet even as some shied away from the owl, calling it an agent of darkness, others recognized the depths of awareness in beautiful owl’s eyes.
In the classical Greek tradition, an owl could often be found perched on the shoulder of Athena, goddess of wisdom, while owls could ward off bad luck in Roman lore. It is in Native American mythos, however, that the owl attains its own unique identity. Owls are patient messengers, bringers of information and the holders of wisdom, and they are capable of seeing the unseen. With their keen eyesight, they can glance into the soul to discern meaning and motive, and they are totems of truth. Unlike our distant forebears, we may never encounter an owl in the wild, but we can nonetheless internalize the wisdom of the owl by attuning ourselves to its most venerable qualities. Fully integrating the medicine of the owl into spiritual existence is a matter of considering how we might open ourselves more fully to the wisdom that can be found in the larger universe.
Should you find your efforts blocked as you commune with the owl, remember that it was not always revered as an icon of wisdom. This denizen of the nighttime has overcome many prejudices in its long association with humankind. To reveal those hidden elements of the self that impact your life for better or for worse, you must often make your way through the darkest parts of your soul as if you yourself are the nocturnal hunter. There is indeed darkness both inside the self and outside the self, but like the owl you can transcend it by drawing nourishment from the insights you receive when you penetrate it.

Thank you for your kind words. I was posting ghost stories and they are getting to me.
Yeah I did not see this one coming and never said anything to anyone. I had to endure.

I think on some level they may be things we see sometimes. All I know is with my own
two eyes I say something staring at me in the dark and seem to want to come closer.I screamed for my husband and it went away. I happened to be watching a late
move called Our Lady of Fatima. A really old movie which I have always loved. It’s true I can say this it never came back. 🙂

Now that is scary and I will most certainly say my prayers tonight. Yikes.

Louisiana’s Cajun communities have an explanation for sleep paralysis: cauchemar, a species of nighttime witch that immobilizes sleepers and rides them like horses. Some say the cauchemar comes to those who forget to say their prayers before going to bed. Its unfortunate victims lie awake, unable to move, as the cauchemar presses down on their chests, and no matter how much they try to call out, their screams catch in their throats. Some have even reported waking up with marks on their bodies from the bridles and whips that the cauchemar uses to mount and ride sleepers. Beware: Talking about cauchemar increases the likelihood it will visit you tonight.

♥Sheba, so sorry I have not been keeping up with things. I hope you and your Daughter are doing much better. You must have been lost in worry, it is amazing that you can keep up with things no matter what is going on in your life. I am the complete opposite, I fold, and take far too much time to come back. I wish nothing but good and happiness and health to you and your Daughter and your Dad and your whole family. Thank you for being you. ♥

People in Hutchinson, Kansas, know not to venture into the surrounding sand hills alone—because that’s where the Hamburger Man lives. Some say the monster, horribly mutilated by a fire or car crash sometime in the 1950s, abducts victims by brandishing a long knife or meat hook, and then carries them back to his lair where he grinds them up for dinner. The locals aren’t sure whether the half-human, half-ghost was ever a real person—or why he seems to crave so many burgers.

Coe College in Cedar Rapids is said to be haunted by the ghost of a freshman named Helen Esther Roberts, who died after becoming ill in the 1918 flu pandemic. As legend has it, the ghost of Roberts set up residence in an old grandfather clock—in Voorhees Hall, her former place of residence—which her parents donated to the school in her memory. While the clock was being installed, students claimed they saw an apparition hovering over their beds at night, pulling the covers off, and even playing the piano in the lobby, before taking a quick trek to her old room. Some even claimed that the clock would act up or stop working altogether at 2:53, the time of Roberts’s death. When the clock was removed in the ’70s, the sightings promptly ended at Voorhees Hall. But then they manifested in Stuart Hall—the grandfather clock’s new home.

“Leave A Tender Moment Alone” Billy Joel
Even though I’m in love
Sometimes I get so afraid
I’ll say something so wrong
Just to have something to sayI know the moment isn’t right
To tell the girl a comical line
To keep the conversation light
I guess I’m just frightened out of my mind
But if that’s how I feel
Then it’s the best feeling I’ve ever known
It’s undeniably real
Leave a tender moment aloneYes I know I’m in love
But just when I ought to relax
I put my foot in my mouth
Cause I’m just avoiding the factsIf the girl gets too close
If I need some room to escape
When the moment arose
I’d tell her it’s all a mistakeBut that’s not how I feel
No that’s not the woman I’ve known
She’s undeniably real
So leave a tender moment aloneBut it’s not only me
Breaking down when the tension gets high
Just when I’m in a serious mood
She is suddenly quiet and shyLeave a tender moment alone
Leave it aloneI know the moment isn’t right
To hold my emotions inside
To change the attitude tonight
I’ve run out of places to hide
And if that’s how I feel
Then it’s the best feeling I’ve ever known
It’s undeniably real
Leave a tender moment alone
You got to leave a tender moment alone
Leave a tender moment alone
Leave it alone
You got to leave a tender moment alone
Leave a tender moment alone
