Cherry
My twin sister passed away from covid-19. She was president of Wilsonville, Oregons sister city (Kitakata Japan)program. She was lucky to travel there twice and was passionate about this Sister City program. Kitakata brought cherry trees when they visited as a gift to the city of Wilsonville. A bench dedicated to her was placed in the city park facing the trees. They are in full bloom with the lovely pink blossoms. She was one of the first covid cases in Oregon and sadly became a long hauler. She passed away almost a year ago.

Thank-you. She was a gift to our world. We hadn’t spent our birthday together for a while because of covid. I had been planning a 60th party for us. It was sad to not reach that milestone together. I have no doubt that she was with me on February 3rd. She was my identical twin sister and our bond was special. If I can afford it, I would like to get a tattoo (my first) of her on my shoulder with a sunflower. My dad passed away 3 years ago and the sunflower was his favorite. Thank-you for sending me a reply. It means a lot to me

Thanks for the sunflower picture. My dad grew up in Kansas. Morrill Ks not too far from Sabetha Ks. We used to have some wonderful family reunions there. Sadly the house he grew up in is long gone. It was a Gingerbread style, Victorian looking farm house. It had a claw foot bathtub, squeaky spring beds in the hot stuffy attic bed room. The cellar was full of grandmas canned goods. I recently learned that dad (about age 12) would crack the seal on a jar of canned grapes and hide it back behind the others. It would ferment…..young wine maker LOL. Thanks for the lovely conversation this evening.
