Changes with the HSN and QVC card!!!!!
If you have not already received a letter from Synchrony Bank you should be receiving one very shortly. Effective July 11,2024 anyone who receives a monthly paper statement will be charged $1.99.
I believe this is outrageous! NO other credit card company I have charges me a fee to receive paper statements.
Below are some of the reasons why I strongly encourage EVERYONE to contact HSN and QVC and make your voice heard. I myself spoke with a supervisor for over 20 minutes yesterday. I also requested since the telephone calls are recorded to have the senior management staff listen to it.
1) You are locked into paying a monthly charge for an extended time if you use up to 5 flex pays with any coupons or offers for discounts. The offers/coupons require that you put the payment on the HSN/QVC card to be entitled to them.
2) If Synchrony Bank is allowed to get away with this, I assure you other credit card companies will soon follow suit.
3) If you are reading this then you have access to a computer and email. But assist those who are customers of HSN/QVC who are not as tech savvy or have access to the internet. They NEED our help.
4) I use the convenience of a paper statement to keep accurate track of the due dates for credit card payments. The late fees will be raised up to a maximum of $41 and interest rates of 34.99%. Can anyone afford this? With receiving over 300 emails per day, the email giving me my statement may get overlooked.
Now is the time to make your voice heard before it is too late!

I agree with you. I have not received the HSN /Synchrony letter yet, but when I do I will call customer service to tell them why I am canceling their card. I actually already received the Synchrony Letter for two other charge cards and I already cancelled the cards and called customer service of each company to tell them why. I told them I expect you will be receiving lots of calls and card cancellations As for myself, I pay the total of the bill each month so I do not get charged interest. However, the paper charge is ridiculous and I refuse to pay a paper fee. Furthermore, my email address is already on the dark web because of bills paid by computer. I will never again use my computer to receive or pay bills. For me it is paper or the highway!

Nothing is safe anymore. My friend gets paper statements, and one was stolen and they got her information from that bill. It’s a sad world we live in now.

Hello Brenda, Synchrony Bank sent me a notice like this on my Lowes acct & I’m nothing using it. So I guess they think we have a money tree somewhere. We need our paper statements or proof of purchase because I’ve ordered things from stores in the past & never received some items and my receipt was my proof that I never rec’d the order. Thanks for the heads up I guess I better stop using my HSN card as well. I don’t think the Bank realizes that they might lose customer but I don’t think they care because they think that we will just keep paying for whatever they throw at us. They don’t realize how tried we are off all the new changes we NEED a BREAK. I pray EVERYDAY for OUR WORLD which has gone to heck in a hat basket lol. WE ALL NEED TO SEND LETTER TO THE BANK!!!!! OR CALL THEIR CUATOMER SERVICE DEPT. OR DO BOTH AND MAYBE THEY WILL HEAR US. WE NEED TO VOICE OUR CONCERNS. I have a friend who had been getting elec. statements but when she needed them it was a hassel so we changed her statements so she gets paper statements now with no problem. I’m NOT HAPPY WITH THIS. I pray GOD answers our pray on this matters. I’m pray for us ALL.

If you received a statement last month the NEW CHARGES FOR PAPER STATEMENTS ARE ON THE PAGE WITH THE NEW INTEREST RATE OF most people don’t read the information included in their monthly statement BUT it’s THERE. Hopefully they will start reading their statements.

I don’t usually miss much however the $1.99 paper statement policy I did miss. Thanks for the warning. I have several accounts with Synchrony. Also, the 32% interest rate? Isn’t that a loan shark tactic?

I received the email yesterday. I pay off my bill entirely every month to avoid there high interest rate. Wondering if this makes them mad since I never have an interest charge.. I will call HSN tomorrow to change all my flex pay charges to another card. I had a card with Kohls and they changed there payee to Capital One about a year ago. Therefore they got rid of Synchrony Bank.

Oh please. Paper statements are dinosaurs and are an unnecessary expense in this day & age. Not one bill I have comes with a paper statement. Banks will soon do away with checks, so more and more useless paper is being omitted. I actually get a small discount for going paperless on a few of my bills, so it’s the same as being charged more for paper bills. This has been going on for years. Nothing new.

I used to pay online until the department store I paid got hacked. I am now on the dark web because of that. You can’t get off the Dark Web. You can just be cautious and change your passwords. I now have a service with Experian to track my credit because of it. I will never open anything concerning payments or bills or banks via the internet. It might work for you, but did not work for me. So glad you were never hacked through a store or site you bought from or on an on-line banking account. Best wishes for continued good luck. As for me – no statements are opened or paid online and no on-line banking. I will take my chances with the mail – hasn’t let me down for 40 years!

I had a credit card that I dropped months ago so I had to remove it from my QVC account. When I tried to put in a different credit card it wouldn’t let me. It only wants me to use my QVC credit card. I chatted with a rep online on the site and she said I had to call to add a different card. Why? HSN lets me use other credit cards. I’m ready to drop the Q for this and other reasons after 25 years. Recently I ordered a pair of as is jeans and they charged me the higher clearance price which was $10 more. Their lack of customer support has gone on for too long.

I called QVC this morning and the customer service rep changed everything for me. I guess it depends on who you talk to. It took a couple of hours before everything changed over on my account.

Are you saying you called QVC customer service and they changed the fact you will be getting paper statement charges because they waived the paper charges, or that they changed your QVC card to a different card like a visa or master card? I already canceled two cards handled by Synchrony as I refuse to get a paper charge and I do NOT want emails concerning bills since my email address has already been put on the dark web because a few years ago Target and two other large department stores I used were hacked so now I have to have a service to get alerts if something on my credit reports look weird. It’s a pain! I will not pay paper fees and I refuse to get bills and pay on-line. I did not get the Synchrony letter for HSN yet, but I will call them tomorrow to let them know if I get paper charges I will cancel their card and use a visa. I better call because I did not receive that notice yet and I do not want the surprise of being hit with a paper fee!

On another note, I like to look at credit card statements in hand. Otherwise, I have to go into the credit card account online and jump thru hoops to get there with security codes and such. It takes me a long time to do this for different credit cards and so much faster just to look at a paper statement.

Not too long ago I was on-line and noticed at the bottom of the page, people were trying to get my attention. I could not understand why or how they arrived and then being able to see what I was doing. They were also able to cross over to my other browsers. I immediately deleted my history and closed down. Reopened and ran all my virus software. It found some large bugs. What I’m trying to get at is that big business wants us to use our computer more and more while I want to use it less and less. Paper statements are easier to read and do not carry the burden of what is lurking behind every computer. Not everyone is knowledgeable nor are people aware of situations that can hurt you and your computer. Plus, if these companies have sinister people trying to log in and get the viruses, how do you explain to your customers that they have been hacked and now your info is viable info for anyone to see. It’s very scary.

I agree with you. I never open any bills on line or in fact anything that comes from a bank or company that has to do with money – I just delete emails about accounts, applications for charge cards, and anything about money and bills immediately then go to my delete box and permanently delete them. Several companies I paid on line a long time ago were hacked. These were good companies that got hacked and our info went to hackers so the companies are required to notify us that our info was taken. I was advised to change all my passwords which I did and have been notified by a credit agency that my email address is on the dark web and there’s no way to remove it from the dark web where personal info is sold, so change my passwords. This is why I have cancelled all my Synchrony charge cards. I will not be forced to get online statements or pay online and I will not pay a “paper fee”. SO far Paypal has not been hacked and it is the only way I pay on-line, but I prefer paper and mail.I mail checks as payment. I never write my full account number on my checks and my address is not included on my checks. Lots of people don’t know that you can just have your name on checks without your address. The less info out there – the better.

I think that all Synchrony accounts are having this applied for the paper statements. The real problem is that for a lower percentage rate if something bad happens, I can get longer payments on a new account through several credit cards with no interest and paper statements. It isn’t really a good move for Synchrony IMHO.

I haven’t received paper statements for anything for a very long time.I do not want to have them mailed to me for security reasons. Each credit card I have I make a folder and download each statements so all I have to do is open it if I need to refer to it for anything.Can always print a copy if a physical copy is wanted.
My bank has charged for statements for a few years and other accounts have already been charging for awhile.So that s going to be the normal now.I assume paper statements are a big expense for any company.Mail and online both risk fraud but I would rather download and print a copy of my statement when it comes out rather than have it mailed.
In the overall scope of things they are not going to care if a few people cancel a card due to a $ 2 per month charge.Most likely all cards will be doing this soon. -
Today I cancelled my HSN card. It’s a shame because I have used that card for many years. However, I refuse to pay $1.99 for paper statements and I do not want to get any charge statements coming to my email address due to the fact that I ended up on the Dark Web by paying something online. Because of that I do not do anything that has to do with $ on the internet. Fortunately having paid my bills on time I never found interest rates a problem because I have been careful to pay my bills on time. However, getting a bill in paper every month would be almost $24.00 a year – it’s like being taxed to use their card, and I can’t image that sending out statements are not already factored into the cost of doing business. So , I had three cards from Synchrony for different companies and I cancelled them all. Now I will use a Master-card that I get back 2% in cash rewards,on each purchase, so I will actually come out ahead. For all of you saying eventually all cards will charge a paper charge, I will deal with that as I go along as I will never again do anything with money online – too many scammers out there and unfortunately there are no internet police who catch these guys!

Wow..time to cancel these cards. I hope Discover card is not forcing to paperless. I like paper, I don’t always get emails..I get way too much email. With the price of everything I may be forced to cancel my internet

This is what stinks!Us 20 + yr. Customers are probably the only ones who want a statement by mail.We.ve been doing this for yrs. And now they want us to pay!We are who made this Co. successful.What a slap in the face! They can keep their card, inflated prices and their ridiculous fees!Gonna order my vitamins at Amazon…same price and faster service! WIN! WIN!
