Bets on when HSN disappears?
Anyone want to take bets on how long it will take QVC to just absorb HSN? HSN is going to disappear and QVC will move Marla Wynne, DG2 and what is left over to them, same with beauty and everything else. I use to watch HSN all the time, now I watch maybe a show twice a month and just certain vendors. I use to spend ten’s of thousands on HSN and have 2 different HSN credit cards I use to max out, but now I owe nearly nothing on one card. I miss those days of great fashion and jewelry. I am saving a ton of money though . LOL
-
What a mean spirited post. I watch HSN more now than I do QVC.
-
What post is mean spirited? I agree with the OP. If you aren’t reading the financial state of HSN on QVC, you should. HSN has been in deep trouble for at least several years.
OP, you are probably right about moving Marla, DG 2, and a few other vendors. I don’t think QVC and HSN will merge. That would spell disaster for the Q. Can HSN alone declare bankruptcy?
I do see QVC having free shipping more often. I bought several items that I would not have purchased otherwise. Way to go Q, you are catching on. It’s called marketing.

They will probably disappear if they continue to treat exchanges like they are returns and then harass the customer about HSN’s error (HSN deleted future flex pays and reimbursed payment that was made ON AN EXCHANGE which probably caused a “red flag”) as HSN can’t seem to figure out what HSN did wrong. They basically force the customer to do research and explain HSN’s error to HSN because they are harassing the customer about something that is CLEARLY no fault of the customer’s. The customer coded the item as a return. Why doesn’t HSN pay attention to their OWN codes? Lastly, the customer (me) did explain to HSN that they needed to REINSTATE the charges that they deleted in order to balance their balance sheet as it was an EXCHANGE not a RETURN!!! HSN did reinstate the charges as they should have, but NOW it seems that there are two pending charges showing up on my HSN credit card. It is like HSN is attempting to double charge me. HSN does not want to cheated. Well, HSN, neither DO I so I hope that those two pending charges drop off as they should not even be there!
-
I woke up this morning and checked to see if those two pending unwarranted charges dropped off. They have not! Wow! It sure does take a long time (or perhaps I am impatient)? I also noticed that somebody at HSN gave me $25.00 spendable kash. While I think that is a very kind gesture (and it sort makes me feel better, but won’t feel good til the error is corrected), I will not be taking advantage of it. All I want is those two unwarranted pending charges of seven something dollars and eight something dollars to drop off and NO REPEATS next month as the necessary flex payments were reinstated. Nobody likes to be “double charged” …. know what I mean. However, whoever thought of me and placed $25.00 in spendable kash for me, THANK YOU very much for the thought. I just want the pending unwarranted charges to drop off and NOT have to continually watch my HSN credit card wondering what is going to pop up next. Every one of us makes mistakes, but I just want this to be corrected and finalized. I do value my reputation in the financial community and do not want it scarred because HSN made a mistake. Additionally, I am totally tired of dealing with this. It should have been corrected already!!! Thanks.
-
I’m done with that. now I have a tiny checking account no checks, the bank takes a few hundred dollars from my savings and puts it in my checking and they withdraw the amount iny bill. no more being billed for flex pays of like seven hundred when I only spent more like three hundred. HSN was never ending. they had me paying for nearly a year. I then noticed that they reopened items I already paid so now in only buy one or two items and pay it in full

Renegade007,
I’ve been reading your situation, and I hope you can get a successful resolution. I think you’ve done an excellent job explaining what happened in detail. You are patient. You’d think HSN could figure it out from the information you’ve given them — after all, they do have records of charges and payments — but, no, they respond per their “usual,” asking YOU to do the work and explain the situation YET AGAIN. That “delay tactic” irritates me; HSN’s reluctance to tackle an accounting problem head-on and fix it (for heaven’s sake) causes me to seriously pause before buying anything that I may need to return. Meanwhile, looks like the calvary in the form of HSN_Shawn just replied a few minutes ago — someone finally got the message! Hopefully (?) — My fingers are crossed for you.JADiva, I remember you well from years ago! 🙂 SUZYQ260, I believe I remember you, too! Unfortunately, I think it’s clear that HSN is on the way out. Lots of us for YEARS used the HSN forum as well as reviews to repeatedly make solid suggestions for improvement, but they chose to ignore. Too bad. Shopping here used to be a lot of fun and very satisfying.

MsLomo, Just wanted to stop by this morning and thank you for being my good luck charm and thank JaDiva for starting this thread (lol … as I feel that my posts have dominated her thread). 🙂 This morning I checked and those pending charges that did not belong on my account are officially gone. It appears that the error has been taken care of. (Let’s hope)! Sometimes when other people take notice, it gets things rolling. Thanks! Hope you and everybody here has a great week!
-
Thanks, Renegade. Happy for you that it was straightened out!
-
MsLomo, Thank you. I appreciate your kind words. And bless you for reading that long, long explanation (lol)! 🙂
I try to treat people the way I like to be treated (however, sometimes, unfortunately, my aggravation shows … lol). We all make mistakes, but it seems that someone made a doozie of a mistake on my account. Poor Shawn probably inherits all types of problems and so do a lot of the other agents/reps. I understand because I had a job while in college that required me to deal with customers on a regular basis. Sometimes, while I understood and emphasized with the customers, the store would only allow me to do so much. I understand the hurdles they are expected to jump through at times. I have to honestly say that everyone at HSN who I dealt with have been nice.
I have shopped with HSN for over 30 years now and mostly have had the best of luck with them. However, I have to be honest and say that QVC does not appeal to me. I tried QVC, but the mistake made on my account recently reminds me so much of QVC (sorry, QVC, but it is true). I hope that this is not going to be a trend with HSN. As it stands, I have paid off all my “legitimate” flex pays, so my balance should be zero. If this mistake is not fixed very soon or if it pops up again next month in the form of a flex pay that I have already paid, I will be going outside of HSN and Synchrony Bank for a resolution. I will be losing my patience shortly if this matter is not closed for good and, while the gesture was really nice, I am refusing the $25 spendable kash as I just want the correction I requested. It is not rocket science.
Thanks for wishing me luck. I hope that nobody else has to this problem. We’re going to keep our fingers crossed for all of us (big grin). 🙂

We are so sorry about the pending charges. We would like to take a closer look at the charges. Please email us the dates, amounts and order numbers to HSNSocialCare@hsn.com.
-
Dear Moderator, Thank you for your response. It took a while, but I sent you a detailed email today. Hopefully it sheds light on the situation. I tried to list items along with reference numbers, order numbers, dates and anything that might help. Thank you.
-
I have replied to your email and I see that another agent issued the credit as a courtesy for your bad experience due to our warehouse’s mistake with crediting your return causing need for so much research and correction. I hope my email helps explain everything.
-
Dear Shawn: The charges are officially off of my account, and everything looks as it should (balanced for both sides). Thank you for your expertise and to every HSN Rep/Agent who has taken time to assist me. (Lol … I am not for the faint of heart. I truly appreciate your patience). I worked with customers a long time ago when I was going to college and it is not always easy as you are the go-between between the company and the customer. Just wanted to be sure to say thank you to all of you.
-
Shawn, Thank you so much for your email. I appreciate your suggestion regarding Synchrony Bank, and I will definitely check with them again if the pending charges do not drop. When I checked with them the other day, they told me to check with the merchant (HSN). For the record, I really did not expect the Spendable Kash (just the correction and no more strange charges, etc … lol). I probably will not use it, but it was a very nice gesture. I value my time more. Lol … that happens as one gets older. Hopefully, we have it straightened out as everyone needs to be paid (but nobody wants to overpay … big grin).
Well, HSN shoppers, it looks like Shawn and HSN have gone the extra mile to help out this customer, and it appears that everything is straightened out now. (I hope so anyway). Thanks, Shawn and HSN. And thanks to the Rep who (chatted with several) so thoughtfully issued Spendable Kash even though the only “reward” I really want is peace of mind and for what happened not to happen to any other customers as it is time consuming trying to pinpoint errors sometimes.

Things are screwy as ever. Thought that HSN finally corrected their error that THEY MADE on my exchange. And, for the record, I would NOT have had to EXCHANGE the readers set if HSN would have send me the magnification that I asked for in the first place (mistake #1). Mistake #2 is that HSN treated my exchange as a return and dropped off flex payments, etc. Mistake #3 is that HSN emailed me a form email letter twice indicating that I did NOT return the item to be exchanged. I have DOCUMENTATION proving that the item was returned to HSN. Mistake #4 is after I told HSN that I did indeed return the item, and they sent me the second email form letter (stating the very same thing). Mistake #5 is expecting the customer to do the research on HSN’s mistake. After researching, I discovered that HSN cancelled flex pays and reimbursed payment that had already been made. Since it was an EXCHANGE, HSN should have NEVER done that. After a phone call or two and several CHATS, I thought that everything was fine as I specifically explained the error that HSN had made. (I, the customer, was NOT the one who made the mistake! Thought it was especially nice of me to spend my day looking for HSN’s error). Day before yesterday I had to have a CHAT with HSN again about two (2) strange PENDING transactions I found on my HSN credit card account when I checked it. They are both dated “Sep 27” and, hopefully, they drop off and are not posted as I was told by the Rep during the CHAT that those pending charges seem to be connected to the EXCHANGE. The flex payments erroneously removed by HSN have already been reinstated and I would very much appreciate if HSN would stop harassing me. Maybe I am impatient, but I have been waiting for these two bogus pending charges to drop off. I will continue to check on these pending charges. Hopefully, they drop off soon. And, no, HSN is no longer “fun.”

It has been quite obvious for sometime that there will be an end to HSN. The programming has become absolutely horrible – Beekman, Marla Wynn, Eco Flow, Electronics, DG2 over and over and over — and SUCH a boring selection of vendors — is it that difficult to add showings that are upbeat and that offer exciting, fun, and unusual products (just as HSN USED to be years back) — HSN, enough is enough!!! In one day, there are showings of the same products 5 to 6 times. While on the other hand, QVC has an abundant variety of really fun, fashionable, and exciting products — the variety is just awesome — why is it that HSN no longer offers the same variety. I have finally reached the point that I can’t even stand to turn HSN on anymore — and when I do, there’s that host that is rambling on and on at 100 miles an hour, while at the same time screaming — five minutes of that is enough to drive one NUTS!! Yup, I do believe the writing is on the walls — years ago, it was such fun to watch and shop HSN — those days are GONE!!!
-
I so agree. HSN is a disaster. Do you think they are trying to get rid of merchandise or these are their best sellers….over and over It might be because the quarter is ending but I noticed they have scheduled all their seasoned hosts for this weekend.
-
-
I hope you are wrong. But if QVC dissolves HSN that’ll be the last time I will shop because I do not like QVC.
-
I don’t like QVC either. I will watch Pat and sometimes Rick but I rarely order.
-
-
I think this “new” version of HSN (or HSN-PA as some of the hosts I’ve heard call it) is really a temporary stopgap for training and seeing what brands, hosts, staff, etc. should be kept when HSN either becomes Q2 or Q2 becomes HSN. Seems like this is an easing period to figure out how they want to continue consolidating. I remember someone posting that HSN is hiring for many new jobs, but remember that they cut 900+ in Florida, so adding a new set of 100 or so hourly employees doesn’t give me much confidence in the long term.
-
Rochellerock, I agree with you 100%, like I said it’s a matter of time.

just remember to watch Jay King! and ya know its best to buy on a no s/h day because if they dont charge for shipping they dont charge back for returns. I got so angry when I found out they changed the policy to start charging for s/h on a return. ALSO they say if a product has some flaw or problem you wont be charged the s/h do I went down the line and corrected any charges that I should have been more honest with like why I really returned it and got reimbursed through c/s. I hope qvc doesnt ruin hsn since it could be the end of them. one is enough.
-
My bet? No one will notice when HSN disappears.
-
I still enjoy HSN very much and do make purchases, so many good deals and coupons. It is the Q that I have lost interest in, not made a Q purchase since 2012.
-
I too enjoy watching HSN more than the Q these days. I still make purchases and very seldom watch the Q. It has turned into the Kim Gravel channel.
-
Martinc, I definitely will miss HSN, but I will miss the HSN of yesteryear. All the Reps were perfectly nice when I recently contacted them in regard to HSN messing up my exchange, but I really don’t believe that the customer should have to do HSN’s accounting for them. Obviously, HSN did know something was amiss because they sent me two emails, but if they would have looked a little closer, they should have been able to catch their error. I tried shopping at QVC some years ago and they seemed to be a bit unorganized in their methods. I do not have the time or the inclination to put up with this sort of baloney. I am retired. (And when I did work, I got paid for my work).

Lol … I did an exchange last month because the wrong magnification (set of readers) was sent. I sent back the readers through UPS. I like the concept of the exchange having free shipping … so nice. HSN sent me a replacement in the strength I asked for which was a good thing. However, not long after I get an email from HSN and it sounds like they don’t think I mailed the package back when I clearly did. I have the documents to prove it. So I contacted HSN and thought everything was fine. The next week or two later, I receive another email which indicates that HSN STILL does not think that they got the package back. It was a very polite email. Well, I decide to do my own research and found out that HSN reimbursed and cancelled flex pays (while deducting $7.95 return shipping when that is NOT supposed to be done on an even exchange) on an order of readers (HSN jumped on a different order #, not even the order # that I sent back as I had ordered a couple sets a couple of days apart). It is bad when HSN asks for an order number and then totally ignores the order number that is indicated and just picks any order number — OMG! In other words, HSN treated my EXCHANGE like a RETURN and did not even access the correct order number. So glad that I was able to figure it out. Why they did this I don’t know as I reviewed my documentation and specifically requested an EXCHANGE and the order number to be sent back was correct on my documentation. Since I had called originally to attempt to straighten this HSN-made mess out and it did not take, I decided to do a CHAT. After about 4 days and about 4-5 different chats, I think (and HOPE) that this is straightened out. I am sorry to say but I think HSN is starting to act like QVC already. I think that it’s straightened out now, but I won’t hold my breath. I really think that HSN owes me a consultation fee, because I had to spend my time trying to straighten out what clearly is totally THEIR mistake. Sure, we all make mistakes, but should I have to fix their mistakes? If HSN would had done a basic audit, maybe they could have found their own mistake and corrected it. Then, HSN could have sent me an email explaining their error to me, NOT the other way around. It really irked me that they acted like I had something of theirs and that I was withholding it. I have always been a good customer and always pay bills in a timely manner. And when I exchange something I send it back as soon as possible. I do not request an exchange and just let the package to be returned just sit in the corner. **** JADiva, I love your take on it ….. “I am saving a ton of money though.” I think I am going to adopt that mantra: Save a Ton of Money! I’m not saying that I will not purchase something from time to time, but I value my time and how many things does one need anyway? LOL
-
I’m with you, JADiva! I have been saving a ton of money visiting other reputable sites that don’t charge for shipping in some instances and certainly do not charge for returns.
I’ve tuned in maybe once or twice, however, I find the hosts so irritating now I just turned it off. Their fashions have become so ugly and dowdy even I won’t wear them and I am a very mature woman, so to speak. (old is the word) I still like fashionable clothing and Marla Wynne was my go to Even her fashions are now so repetitious. I also loved Christian Soriano (sp?) but he’s been a huge disappointment so my question is, who does the buying?
I still have some beautiful clothes from years ago when the designers were real designers. Those fashions last and I love them. Remember Louis Del’Olio and his beautiful wife, Jackie? Dennis Basso? I loved his clothes, coats and jackets. , they’re ugly now. Simonton? Terry Lewis?
Bob Mackie? Gone.
I certainly don’t miss the huge bills and quite frankly HSN and QVC are missing out. Not us!-
Good for you, SUZYQ260! JADiva is absolutely right and so are you! (Oh, I loved Terry Lewis. That lady knew style)! Sounds like we are all going to save a ton of money! 🙂
