Beekman Boys – Facial Wipes (For Germs?)
I am hoping to get an answer, because of COVID-19 I have found it impossible to purchase hand sanitizers.
I have over 600 Beekman wipes – I love them, but are they going to kill the germs via goat milk? Yes, I’ve read the labels on the various packages I have, but nothing definitive there such as “kills germs 99.9%”
Thanks for any comments.

Dr. Brent, on their live FB chat last night said that the wipes will work on your hands if you wipe them for a full 20 seconds. Soap and water, either warm or cold is still the best.

This is going to be a long one so please bare with me. These recipes are for normal skin not sensitive skin. Here is what you can do with your facial wipes that you already have most use baby wipes. But you can use beekman wipes too. It might work out better because they are very moisturizing. But I have to say this do not use them to remove eye makeup once you add alcohol.
Cheat sanitizing wipes
You will need:
Rubbing alcohol, (but keep in mind alcohol [dries out the skin] but that is the active ingredient).
1/4 cup for small container (small batch) 1/2 for large container (large batch)
Zip lock bag
Air tight container.
1 bowl
1 plate
Take your wipes out of container and give a little squeeze over bowl. You should have about 1/4 of an inch of solution in bottom of bowl that you will not use. Place wipes on plate. Fill zip lock bag with rubbing alcohol. Take about 2 1/2 to 3 inches of wipes from plate. Place wipes in zip lock bag. Let sit for 15 mins than flip the zip lock bag for 15 mins. Do not squeeze to saturate wipes. Than after the wipes have soaked. Place in air tight container. Repeat if you have more wipes Lets say you do not have wipes they are sold out.Homemade wipes:
You will need:
Paper towels thick soft ones like Bounty work best. I use the ones that have half sheets, if you cannot find them you want a half a sheet. You want 60 of them
Old wipe container round or rectangular. Or an airtight container with a lid.
1 3/4 boiled Water
2 tablespoons Aloe vera gel
1 table spoon Witch Hazel
1/4 cup Alcohol
1 tablespoon glycerin (if you do not have it that is ok just make the mix without it)
Bowl
Boil water and let the water cool to room temp. Once the water has cooled. In a bowl add water aloe, witch hazel, glycerin and mix well. Put aside. In your rectangular container place the cut in half paper towels into container. If your using a round container. Cut the roll of paper towels in half so they fit into the round container. Remove cardboard tube than place into round container. Than pour solution over paper towels. Let soak for at least 30 mins. I do 15 mins than flip the container. Once you let them soak they are ready for use.Hand sanitizer:
You will need:
A spoon.
An old cleaned out soap bottle will do the trick one with a pump.
I use a bottle with a cap because alcohol will evaporate. But its gone before it can evaporate as of late.
A funnel (A zip lock bag with the bottom corner cut 1/4 inch will also work)
2/3 cup rubbing Alcohol
1/3 cup aloe vera gel
4 tablespoons glycerin (you can opt out of this if you do not have it)
Some add fragrance oil to mixture. I opt out of that. But if you want to add fragrance. 3 drops for half batch 6 drops for full batch of essential oil such as vanilla or lavender. In bowl add aloe vera gel (fragrance if you opt for it,) than add in alcohol. Mix well. Than once mixed place mixture in pump bottle.
Keep in mind all these recipes have a short shelf life. Meaning 3 days. Because these are not commercial sanitizer’s they do not have the stabilizers in them. Alcohol evaporates rapidly.
Everyone take care I wish you all good health.
Sending you Prayers and good intentions.-
This is so helpful. Thank you so much!!!

I ‘m pretty sure Beekman’s face wipes are NOT formulated to kill germs. Most skin care for the face and body are not. Not even their all purpose cleaner is formulated to kill 99.9 pct germs. Even “Wet Ones” which do kill 99pct germs are for hands only.

Thank you for your response. I am pretty sure you are right, was just hoping. I wouldn’t mind finding “Wet Ones” for hands only – not finding anything at this point.
Again, thanks!

I haven’t been able to find hand sanitizer or Wet Ones either. Luckily, @cherie1962 provided a remedy.
