Outspell Game

Love to play Outspell while I watch online. However, when I run out of tiles, I must hit “Pass”, and the Professor keeps playing his tiles while I must hit “Pass” a few times until he runs out. But, when he runs out of tiles, the game is ended immediately. How come?
