September 8th Trivia: International Literacy Day. National 401 (k) Day – National Actors Day. National Ampersand Day. National Date Nut Bread Day. National Dog Walker Appreciation Day
On this day in 1966 the television series “Star Trek” premiered.HOW TO PLAY HSN’S TRIVIA: Questions can be found in the Rewards Store within the Arcade, And begin between 8 pm and 8:05 pm EST depending upon your computer clock. There are six questions during the game. The last question is posted between 10:30 pm and 10:35 pm EST. Again, depending upon your computer clock. Each question lasts approximately 30 minutes, so you will need to come up with the correct response within that time frame. If you answer incorrectly, you will see a red “OOPS.” The incorrect response will not count against you unless the time is up. Each correct answer is worth 200 tickets to use in the Rewards Store against the Featured or Current Sweepstakes. So, before you tear your hair out, before you give up, just return to this thread where one or more of us will be able to help. Also, join us in light conversation, ideas or whatever and LET THE FUN BEGIN….
NOTE; Sometimes a little gremlin will pose a question that requires a number. In those instances it may not accept for example 16. It’s the correct response, but you may need to spell it out: sixteen. Other times there may be a two word answer such as: Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday may need to be written as one word: HappyBirthday. There are also times when the answer is a plural even though the question seems to reflect something that isn’t. However, sometimes it is easier to check this thread for the correct response.🍦🍿😃🌴🍧🍧🎂
-
Thanks once again for starting this up. The countdown begins…..
BTw, let me add one more item to today’s list. September 8th has (since at least the 6th Century) as the Birthday of Mary, the Mother of Christ. Cheers, Notre Dame!
-
Good evening maxienne. I am hoping that there will be some way to preserve our game night. They certainly can do this without the points. And just prior to asking the next question they can give the answer.
-
They are so silly. If they’re stopping the games and Rewards, and they STILL say we can redeem them, they’re going to have to run the rewards store for gazillion years, I’ve still got over 2 million reward points to “redeem”. They used to let us donate them to fundraisers (for disasters etc. ), but maybe I missed it, but I haven’t seen any fundraisers (where you donate points) in a while.
-
I have millions of tickets I will never spend them all. ✨✨
-
I also have over 2mil. Points. I have no idea why they are stopping this. More fun to try to reach the top and also trying to obtain a high score.
-
Me too Max… wish we could just play and keep our points and not need to spend them….just something to root for!
-
Maxienne, that I didn’t know.
-
Good evening and I hope you are doing well. I am 100% Catholic and I did not know that. 🌹
-
Here’s another bit of Catholic trivia. August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption. It is also Independence Day (1947) in India, so we got a holiday!.
I’m going to post a trivia question, just after the next question is done with.
-
Nine months after the feast day of the Immaculate Conception, December 8th!
-
-
Good evening and good evening to all Trivia Players. ✨😎
-
Hi sheba. Still with hubby. OM he is able to sit at the edge of the bed with his feet dangling. This is the first in months.
-
And he dressed himself. Put on shorts and a shirt over the hospital gown. I am beyond thrilled.
-
-
True
-
Sheba, you beat me to it.
-
I hope you and your husband are having a nice evening. Glad to see he is making
progress. ✨Oodie let me know when you leave to go home.
-
Won’t be for awhile. I want to be sure he is comfy.
-
Excellent. ✨✨
-
I had to use the library. When I returned I found he dressed himself.

Good evening everyone ☺️. It was a short week with the holiday. Hello Oodiebom and thanks for starting Trivia🌺🌺
-
Good Evening I was a day off all week. 😎
-
Thanks Sheba. I thought I was the only one that felt that way. Hubby is sort of asleep. Hope he continues on this road. So grateful to see the change. And it was because he had pain.
-
Hi Sheba, so was I. Didn’t realize it was Friday until later in the day, when I read your thread and post.😆
-
Hi xango. Better read the report on hubby.
-
-
Good evening. ✨✨ I hope you have a good harvest. 😎💕
-
Thank you Sheba❣ Starting with the whites on Monday and waiting for the Reds probably the week after. Just finished bottling all the whites from 2022 harvest. Missing my husband during harvest….so hard 💔 Son is a great wine maker and hanging in there.
Thank you for remembering.
Going to miss our chats 💘 -
Don’t give up yet Oodiebom is working on something. I love our little chats.
Happy Harvest. 🌹💕 -
HEY! If anyone can Oodie can! Goooo Odie❣

Jesus had 12 apostles. We know the burial places of only 3 of them. Who are they and where are they buried?
-
Philip: buried in the Church of the Holy Apostles in Rome or possibly Hierapolis, modern Turkey. Simon the Zealot: buried in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome under the St. Joseph altar with St. Jude. Thomas: buried in the San Thome Basilica in Chennai, India or in the Basilica of St. Thomas the Apostle in Ortona, Italy.
-
Mazeltov!
Due to you, I learned a lot today. We always were taught that St Peter (Simon-Peter) was buried in Rome, St. James in Spain, and St. Thomas in India (now Chennai, formerly Madras. The area is actually called Mount. St Thomas.)
When you mentioned Philip, I found THIS:
Thank you . I did not know the rest!

I am still in rehab. Hubby is awake. And very alert.
-
Oodie, you have been such an inspiration to me with your continued love and care for your husband during his lengthy illness. My husband is slowly leaving me from Alzheimer’s and it’s so incredibly painful to watch his deterioration. Thank you for giving us this platform to have a little fun. I hope we can find another way to continue and remain friends. 🤗 Hugs 🤗
-
Sweeney, we will continue the Friday nights as long as we have Community. My hubby also has dementia, though he is at the beginning stage. There is new medication for Alzheimer’s and from what I was told it is paid for by Medicare. It isn’t a cure, but extends the time. The meds do have side effects, but it lessens the dementia to the point that it does not exist and does not matter when you start as long as you can give it a try. Thank the United Kingdom for coming up with something that actually helps.
-
I’m so glad your husband is making such strides. You have comported yourself with such grace and equanimity. An example to us all. Hang in there.
-
-
Hello everyone. Nice to see all your comments and answers. BUT, it sure does seem like I’ve seen these questions before! LOL
-
Good Evening sweeney. Love it when you drop inl.
-
-
I will be heading home in about 10 minutes. 8 traffic lights, two stop signs one roundabout . takes about 20 minutes and another 10 to unload the van.
-
Oodie, Hello! Glad your hubs is doing so well! Wanted to pop in since it’s been hot here and my plans changed. It was 91 at one point late afternoon. Let’s hope the Hurricane bends out and stays at Sea.
Hello everyone! Xango and Sheba!
-
Hello Taci, it’s been an off day here. Hopefully Autumn is around the corner in your area.
-
Xango, some days are like that, huh? A belated Happy Independence Day in Brazil to you!
-
Sorry the weather is not great today Taci we will be in the 50’s in the morning only
then 70’s I will take it. Nice to see you in Trivia. 😎✨ -
Sheba, it’s all good about the weather, just needed to shift my plans. We are typically much cooler at this time of year. Left a note on your thread too. Have a great evening.
-
Hi TACI. Tonight was a surprise and I think it was because my right hand is very sore. Have no idea why. Fell asleep at the comuter last night and when I awoke, sharp pain when I went to use that hand. Not sure if it’s carpal tunnel or th e way I carried the freezer bag into the house. Tomorrow Costco. Hubby wants a hotdog and their chicken. We shall see on the chicken.
Sorry about your weather. It was mid 80s today with low humidity. Had some rain early afternoon. Watching Hurricane Lee. A very intense storm.
-
Oodie, if you have some, maybe try some Ibuprofen for your hand pain. Sheba had a hand burn, you a sharp pain and my hands were off today too. I think it’s the heat and muggy air.
-
Take care Oodie! Glad Hubby is sitting up…big achievement…I re❤💕member well
-
Hey MzKatz. Enjoy the evening. Hope all is good for you. Miss you when you are away.
