IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT. LET'S PLAY TRIVIA. JUNE 17, 2022
HOW TO PLAY TRIVIA: The questions can be found in the Rewards Store within the Arcade. Questions begin between 8 pm and 8:05 pm DST depending upon your computer clock. There are six questions during the game. The last question is posted between 10:30 pm and 10:35 pm EST. Again, depending upon your computer clock. Each question lasts approximately 30 minutes, so you will need to come up with the correct response within that time frame. If you answer incorrectly, you will see a red “OOPS.” The incorrect response will not count against you unless the time is up. Each correct answer is worth 200 tickets to use in the Rewards Store against the Featured or Current Sweepstakes. So, before you tear your hair out, before you give up, just return to this thread where one or more of us will be able to help. Also, join us in light conversation, ideas or whatever and LET THE FUN BEGIN…. 🙂

Thank you for a fun evening Oodiebom.
Everyone have a great weekend and Thanks for the answers.
Stay hydrated, stay cool everyone. -
Well, it’s that time again. Wishing you all a great weekend and a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads. May the week ahead be bright and sunny with less humidity for all and maybe some lower temps. I’m afraid to say that Florida may have the less humidity, but the temps will be in the 90s all week. Stay cool if you can and may you have pleasant dreams. Good night.

Juneteenth is more complicated than that!
What is Juneteenth?
The holiday commemorates the Emancipation Proclamation in the U.S. President Abraham Lincoln issued the proclamation to free enslaved African Americans in secessionist states on January 1, 1863, but enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, would not learn of their freedom until two years later. On June 19, 1865, Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger informed the community of Galveston of Lincoln’s proclamation. Though it was issued years prior, enslavers were held responsible for telling the enslaved they were free, and some ignored the directive. Maj. Gen. Gordon demanded Galveston locals comply with the proclamation.

OODIEBOM, the holiday I am referring to is Juneteenth. It’s our first federal holiday in the US. It commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
-
xango, like sanibel, I have heard of Juneteenth, but did not realize what it stood for. I now know thanks to you.
-
Amazing! I’ve heard “Juneteenth”, but never knew what it was.
-
SanibelShelle, I learned about it last year I think, or maybe the year before last year. It was in the news. But I don’t recall learning about it in American history studies.
