IF IT'S FRIDAY….TRIVIA…..SEPTEMBER 15,2023
Tonight begins the Jewish Holiday, Rosh Hashanah, the New Year, “Days of Awe”), as specified by Leviticus 23:23–25,[1] that occur in the late summer/early autumn of the Northern Hemisphere. Rosh Hashanah begins a ten-day period of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur, as well as beginning the cycle of autumnal religious festivals running through Sukkot and ending in Shemini Atzeret.
Rosh Hashanah is a two-day observance and celebration that begins on the first day of Tishrei, which is the seventh month of the ecclesiastical year. In contrast to the ecclesiastical lunar new year on the first day of the first month Nisan, the spring Passover month which marks Israel’s exodus from Egypt, Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the civil year, according to the teachings of Judaism, and is the traditional anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman according to the Hebrew Bible, as well as the initiation of humanity’s role in God’s world.
Rosh Hashanah customs include sounding the shofar (a hollowed-out ram’s horn), as prescribed in the Torah, following the prescription of the Hebrew Bible to “raise a noise” on Yom Teruah. Its rabbinical customs include attending synagogue services and reciting special liturgy about teshuva, as well as enjoying festive meals. Eating symbolic foods, such as apples dipped in honey, hoping to evoke a sweet new year, is an ancient tradition recorded in the Talmud.[2] From Wikipedia
This year, for me, will be quite different from the years past. With hubby in rehab, we will attend services, but instead of going in person, we will be using our android to watch and participate in a service online. We have celebrated these days using a computer before and have found the service to be exceptional.
Until next week, I hope for a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead. Until next week, may you enjoy sunny skies, cooler temperatures and low humidity and may you all have pleasant dreams.
HOW TO PLAY HSN’S TRIVIA: Questions can be found in the Rewards Store within the Arcade, And begin between 8 pm and 8:05 pm EST depending upon your computer clock. There are six questions during the game. The last question is posted between 10:30 pm and 10:35 pm EST. Again, depending upon your computer clock. Each question lasts approximately 30 minutes, so you will need to come up with the correct response within that time frame. If you answer incorrectly, you will see a red “OOPS.” The incorrect response will not count against you unless the time is up. Each correct answer is worth 200 tickets to use in the Rewards Store against the Featured or Current Sweepstakes. So, before you tear your hair out, before you give up, just return to this thread where one or more of us will be able to help. Also, join us in light conversation, ideas or whatever and LET THE FUN BEGIN….
NOTE; Sometimes a little gremlin will pose a question that requires a number. In those instances it may not accept for example 16. It’s the correct response, but you may need to spell it out: sixteen. Other times there may be a two word answer such as: Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday may need to be written as one word: HappyBirthday. There are also times when the answer is a plural even though the question seems to reflect something that isn’t. However, sometimes it is easier to check this thread for the correct response.🍦🍿😃🌴🍧🍧🎂

Hi sweeny. From what II read, I was led to believe that the new drugs from England were helpful at any stage. It is also covered by insurance. Hang in there. I am at the rehab.Hubby is a bit uncomfortable and wants to get into bed. However, the bed broke. In other words he could not sit up. The back would go to a prone position. He now has a replacement. Just waiting for linens pillows and blankets. Just take good care of yourself.

Hi Oodie. Sending hugs from sunny Harpers Ferry, WV. I did see your post to me from last week’s game. Yes, there is finally a lot of new research and new drugs available for Alzheimer’s, but sadly it is too late for my husband. He is physically strong and able but has little to no memory. We just do the best we can for now. Wanting you to have a very nice weekend if I don’t join you and the regulars on tonight’s trivia.
