xango, I know you said your husband was diabetic. Mine is borderline. He loves barbecue sauces, but it has been a no no until recently. Found something new on the store shelves. It’s called G. Hughes Smokehouse Sugar Free BBQ Sauce. There are all different flavors. I use just enough to dab on beef ribs or pork ribs along with herbs and spices. I just happened to be looking at barbecue sauces and marinades while you were away. Check it out when you get a chance.

@ OODIEBOM, Thanks, it’s hard to find food items without sugar. This will provide a different item to the menu.
Well got the Jacksonville house sold. Celebrated our 33rd anniversary but on that same day I fell and damaged my hand, wrist, and arm. A large chair with wheels ran off from under me and I fell backwards and landed to the right of me bracing my right arm so not to harm my right hip.Glad there was no damaged to my hip and that I didn’t brake my arm.
It’s better now, I can do some work around the house and I can type. Getting old and things don’t heal fast enough anymore.
-
xango, congratulations on getting your house sold and also a belated anniversary to you. You had good reasons to celebrate, Sorry to hear about your accident. Bet you scared your hubby when you fell. Good thing you didn’t break anything, but those black and blues take forever to leave.
-
@ OODIEBOM, Thanks, yes they do take a while. I am at the stage of being some purple with some yellow and I have a brace on. All will be back to normal soon.
-
Please take it easy and watch where you are going… I know, I should talk. I fell going up the stairs, then a few months later I tripped on the bathroom rug and almost landed in the tub, but caught myself and landed on the tile floor, then slipped in the shower in August and fell against the shower door and landed near the door to the bathroom. I didn’t break anything, but those black and blues lasted forever. No, the shower door didn’t break.
-
@ OODIEBOM, Oh may please be more careful. I am glad you are alright. Please take good care of yourself.
I am good to say goodnight now, perhaps next week I will stay longer. Good to be here with you and nice taking, take care. -
(of course, I had a big response written out on the phone and then the system logged me out…grrr)
SPEAKING of pre-diabetes, diabetes, blood sugar, etc. My fasting glucose has run slightly over 99 for years…100, 102, 101, 104, etc. However in March they were 114 and August 126. I had an appointment with my doc and he ordered a first time A1C (which eventually came back as 5.7). I decided to make some dietary changes for a bit before I did that test. I have always read labels and know what is good/bad (usually would look at sodium for my BP) but it didn’t always apply to my 6 days a week (a job that I just want to do until I retire and another that I hate and is killing me) stress.
I cleaned out/gave away all my flour, sugar, rice, pasta, muffins, any candies, any frozen high carb foods and went shopping for veggies, fruit, higher fiber things with low glycemic ratings, etc. I have not eaten out since August. Also got a glucose meter.
WELL, about 3 weeks into those changes, got thinking my clothes felt loose and then friends started asking if I had lost weight. I didn’t have a scale (now have one) but found that I was down 10-12 pounds and then lost more. Bottom line, I’m 5’9″ and now sans clothes, am 133. TOO skinny! Fired off a letter to my doctor yesterday and waiting to hear anything.
Tests have fluctuated between 80’s and 110’s…always higher in the morning and then lower in the evenings but frustratingly can’t get an average below 100.
I need to stop the weight lose but still want to keep the diet healthy…getting healthy calories, low carbs (Keto is NOT an option)…a problem.
-
Heads up watch your wonderful drink intake that can make your glucose go up too.
I think you are doing great. 🙂 I would not lose any more weight.

Xango, please read the ingredients as well. Even if there is no sugar, there may be corn starch, corn syrup and dextrose to name a few.
-
I have no idea on the answer to Eggz Blast……H E L P please……..
-
I thought it was called back board lol….

Yes back board is what I tried and it did not take it. I tried “board” and it worked. Hope I am not to late to help.
