Hi Sanibel and all Trivia players. Glad there is a game tonight. However, I won’t be playing this evening. Here is an update. As you all know my hubby took ill about 2 1/2 weeks ago with low blood sugar where I had to contact EMS. He was rushed to the ER and I soon followed. By the time I arrived he had no idea where he was or how he got there. The doctor on call said he had dementia and it wasn’t low blood sugar. He had no idea what was wrong and suggested he be admitted to a convalescent home. following testing. I was there everyday from early afternoon to early evening. By the fourth day in ER he was back to normal whatever normal is. On that fourth day ER came up with a room that had no door for privacy, just a curtain. Everyday while in the ER the A/C would come on real strong around 4 pm. After the first day I learned my lesson and brought a winter jacket to keep warm. However, in the private room he had in ER, the A/C felt like winter. Both of us were shivering and thankfully a nurse came by and checked on him. He was like ice. She uncovered him and made him move around and then brought warmed blankets which helped him a lot. The reason for the ER is that there was no room in the Inn until the 5th day. That 5th day I was sick and the Case Managers phoned me and through them I knew the room number and the number for the nurse’s station. Hubby was able to contact me and we s poke for an hour. Today, he has been in rehab for a week. We spoke for a couple of hours this afternoon. I had been trying all week to use the phone and found out today it had to be set up. Meanwhile I am on antibiotics and also eye drops since the virus seems to be giving pink eye. The cough is now a d ull roar and though I still have laryngitis, my voice is OK for now in that I can talk without losing it. I am hoping to see hubby either tomorrow or Sunday. I am feeling better though weak and extremely tired. Talking to hubby this afternoon was amazing. No sign of dementia. Told me everything that was going on and he could actually read the clock on the wall. To think he is doing this without his glasses. Meanwhile, I am trying to do a little catch up with laundry so he has underwear, shirts and shorts. Well, I am going to sign off for now. Hopefully, I will be back next week. Take care. Stay warm. And please stay safe. And one other thing. Don’t forget to take time to smell the roses. May you al have an exceptional Valentine’s Day.
