You guys are more than welcome to go back up north if you want to complain about Florida. It beats the snow and tornadoes and other up there.

I love the changing of the seasons. Just when you think, “I can’t take anymore snow/cold”, Spring begins to blossom! Yes, this is a personal choice…to each their own.

I have always lived in the Northeast. Wouldn’t trade it for Florida any day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE snow!!! Summer is my least favorite season. I don’t care for hot weather and would be happy to live on an iceberg! I love the leaves turning colors in the fall and the apples that are plentiful. I love the spring when the maple syrup starts to run. And we VERY rarely experience either a tornado or hurricane. If we do we just head for the cellar and ride it out. Not too many cellars in Florida!

Yes it is just a matter of personal preference. And mine is… the further north the better!

Oodiebom I am a TRUE Floridan, born and reared in this “paradise”. I have never lived North so have not experienced what you have. You Said it well !!!!!!

Hmm…..I am what you considered a “snowbird.” That is, up until the pandemic hit. The summers here are quite similar to what we feel up North. However, it seems that everyone is experiencing some drawbacks no matter where you are. Florida does get tornadoes. Florida does get cold between December and February. OK, not like the North, but to Floridians it does feel like 20 degrees when it’s 40 outside. Florida has thunderstorms and what I will miss when North are the streaks of lightning that one sees. Sometimes five streaks or more and many in different directions. Florida is mainly flat. Not many hills and definitely not the mountain views of the North. However, we do have those low hanging clouds that look like the vistas of New England. During the dog days of summer we do experience higher humidity, though the temps are sometimes similar. Most Floridians have A/C, though they do not keep it running all day as those in New England, Mid West and others do. Also most in those other areas have window units or ones that can be moved from room to room. There are drawbacks everywhere. But, home is where your heart is and where you are in that moment.
