Why are so many people giving Clean Boss one-star reviews???!!!
I really do not understand all of the negative reviews about the “unbearable odor” of Clean Boss. I think that it has a fresh and clean smell. In addition, it’s a huge improvement over chemical cleaning products, ammonia, and bleach, all of which make me feel sick and nauseous. I have been using Clean Boss for everything under the sun ever since I received it. I think that it’s an amazing product! My shower stall hasn’t looked this clean in years. Mirrors are streak free (and the smell is way better than that of traditional glass cleaners.) I even spot cleaned my carpet and it worked way better than the most common spray carpet cleaner, which literally makes me gag. I am shocked by the one-star reviews. We also should keep in mind that this product kills the coronavirus, and we are still in the midst of a pandemic, what with the new Delta variant (and more variants on the way.) What could be better than a product that cleans well, smells fresh, and disinfects at the same time? I have even freshened shoes with it, as per Joy’s suggestion. I also use it to disinfect my laptop and cell phone. It’s now my go-to cleaning product. I ordered it on auto-ship and am so glad that I did. The price is reasonable for four large bottles. Can anybody explain this aversion to the Clean Boss aroma to me? I just don’t get it.

You don’t understand?
Do you understand that some people don’t like caviar, open toe shoes , 5 inch heels, deep dish pizza, thin crust pizza, sushi, squid, basil, cilantro?
It’s an individual choice!
When the vast majority review a product negatively, should they be talked out of their own experience?
How do you talk someone into agreeing that a scent they find repulsive, is actually great?
Do you, and allow others the same.
-
I agree with you. do not shame someone for there opinion. Some people fail to realize what one person like or don’t like that is their right to express it. If a person like something just state what you like about it period

I would imagine for the same reasons that Miracle Clean had a lot of negative reviews. The formula is the same. The majority do not like the scent of the Thymol. It is strong and very pungent. If anyone is thinking of trying this, I would suggest opening up a bottle of original Listerine (amber bottle) or Seventh Generation disinfectant cleaner first. They both have Thymol. If you love it and it doesn’t bother you, then have at it and clean like there is no tomorrow.
-
While I do not love the smell of Clean Boss, I definitely prefer it to the smell of bleach and bleach-based products. I wonder if the same people who give Clean Boss a 1 star review would do the same for these products? Yesterday, I used clorox all purpose cleaner and had to leave my windows opened and run my air purifier to get rid of the smell and fumes.

OPALMARIE, I would imagine they would. I grew up with a mom who used bleach. My grandmother used PineSol. Both made me want to gag. I also used Seventh Generation disinfectant during the initial stages of COVID when other cleaners like Lysol were absent from the shelves. That has Thymol in it as well, though not as much as Clean Boss. I didn’t like the strong, pungent scent of it either.
I think we are all looking for cleaners that are safe, yet don’t make us want to run for the hills or worry about our nose hairs being singed after use. Is that really asking too much?
People also have allergies to other chemicals. At no time was any other ingredient mentioned besides Thymol. The “other” 99.77% are not listed on the bottle. They are not listed on the product page. I have a problem with that more than the scent. Honesty and truth in adverstising are important. Here is a list of the other 99.77% of the chemicals I was able to find. It comes from the Clean Boss website. https://www.cleanboss.co/pages/cleanboss-disinfectant-ingredients-disclosure-list

TADY – Our parents and grandparents had the same mindset regarding cleaning. Kill the germs while nearly killing your children as the same time. It wasn’t until COVID, that I even used bleach products. I detest the smell. I think we all can agree that we want a cleaner that makes us feel safe from germs/bacteria/virus, etc., but doesn’t make us want to leave our homes. Honestly, I haven’t found that product yet, but I can tolerate Clean Boss. Hopefully one day, Joy or someone invents a product with ingredients that do not trigger allergies, disinfects and smells mildly of lavender, lemon or vanilla,
-
I personally don’t have a problem with the scent of bleach.
Besides, that’s been on the shelves for decades.
Couldn’t even find it on the shelves when Covid first hit. So that speaks to how alot of people feel about the product.
But if Joy’s product is better suited for you, great.
Thank goodness we have enough options where we can find what we prefer.
It so weird how some people seem to take it personal that Clean Boss, is not a hit amongst the majority.
At least you won’t have to worry about it selling out- you can purchase as much as you want.

I like the smell of Clean Boss, I had no problem with the original either. I do like Thyme the herb, and I use it in most of my cooking. It’s a powerful herb, I like Cilantro too! Today my husband went to the supermarket after his work and got frozen items in bags. Along with other items in closed packages. I sprayed everything down in the sink allow to sit for a few minutes then rinsed everything off before putting it away into the freezer.

Was going to buy..but if it smells like miracle clean..then no..that smell was awful..so for me is a pass.

I guess this is either a love it or hate it product. It’s a big no for me, but good for the people that like it. The thing that bothers me is how much of an uproar her previous product caused, major issues for a lot of people and the whole thing was downplayed and hushed up. It’s the lack of transparency and follow-up on the issues that doesn’t sit well with me.

I have no problem whatsoever with Clean Boss. I liked the original and I like this version of it. I was fortunate to have purchased many of the original when it was on clearance and at one point it was free shipping. So I used my HSN Card and stocked up, purchased lots and lots. When Covit broke out I had it and used it throughout 2020 and 2021.
I still have packages of the cleaning clothes and pads along with a mini bottles that came with it.
I keep a mini bottle in my purse and used it when I am out and about.
I purchased two sets of the Clean Boss when they had the first time. I used it in the kitchen, another in the bathroom. I spry packages that comes in the mail be opening them. I spry with it on item from the grocery store that can be sprayed and wiped down. I like it.
But I cook with herbs all the time, lots and lots of herbs. I used it as medicine, not just a tea spoon or tablespoon as a recipe would call for it. I also use Bay leaves, garlic, onions. -
I am not a fan – I used it for the first time and it’s given me a headache. Can’t seem to get rid of the smell – it’s been hours. The windows are open, the fans are on, and the heat is off…

7th generation has a fraction of the thymol that Joy’s does and yet it is still considered a disinfectant. A faint smell lasts 30 seconds and is gone. When I tried Clean Boss I don’t think I’ve ever smelled anything that horrible. The spray lasted for hours and that was after rinsing it off. It literally smelled like something died in the house. Why Joy doesn’t lessen how much thymol she uses is beyond me. The neg reviews should be a wakeup call.
-
I just tried this product, and as you stated it is horrible, now I am stuck with it since my box is gone. I will not use it, my Husband asked me what I did in the house it smells aweful and this smell stay,s for hours. I am sorry I ordered this product Boss, cant even return it now.

So I understand some people cannot tolerate the smell but how does it match up to other cleaning products? Does it clean as well as state on HSN?
-
I find that it does a fairly good job of cleaning. It definitely doesn’t eat at the dirt as would a bleach cleaner, like Clorox. However, I do like that I don’t have to grab gloves every time I need to use the product.

It smells like moth balls, it’s awful.

The product is awful. I got sucked in to buying the 4 bottle package. I now have 4 nearly full bottles of the product because the sprayer on the bottles fell apart. I contacted Clean Boss and they offered to send me 2 new sprayers. I installed those on 2 bottles and withing 4-6 sprays, those fell apart too! Moreover, when I used this on my glass patio doors, stainless appliances, and kitchen countertops, it left a cloudy film with a bad smell. I re-did the cleaning with windex and clorox cleaner and bleach. No rinsing? Yeah, because you have to re-clean the off with other cleaners that smell fresh and clean and actually work. Worst $30 I’ve spent. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS !
-
Too bad. I came back for more. I loved the product. Loved the smell,
-
I was so disappointed to see that this product is no longer available on HSN. Yes, the spray bottle is problematic. I wish Joy would just simply supply refill bottles. It’s beyond easy to purchase an empty spray bottle to pour and use for the refills.

Because of the one starred reviews, I was reluctant to try Clean Boss. I assumed this was one of the reasons why Joy left HSN. However, upon her return, I decided to give it a try. Now I cannot be without it. With a husband in rehab and needing physical therapy, I use it on his head and foot board, the mattress, bedside table and all drawers and even the closet. The smell/odor does not affect me or his roommate.

It seems like many people are giving Clean Boss one-star reviews due to issues with its performance and effectiveness. Common complaints include problems with the product’s quality and that it doesn’t work as advertised. Some users also mention dissatisfaction with customer service. If you’ve had a different experience or have insights into these issues, sharing your perspective might be helpful for the community.
