shipping and handling
I can’t buy something that has a cost for shipping/handling half the price of the item you purchased

Yesterday, the last of my returns have been credited to my account (although I was confused by the refund amount because I forgot about flex pay … lol). Called and spoke with a Rep. He was really nice, but probably (big grin) thought that I was a bit flaky. He reminded me that there were flex pays and that they have been cancelled out because of the return. How quickly I forgot about the flex pays … lol! For some reason, I looked on the list of orders and was just thinking about the total price, not the broken up flex pays. Thank you, HSN and Thank you to the Rep who dealt with me this morning. 🙂 (Yes, I was just a bit flaky this morning).

Well, today (September 17, 2024) I discovered that HSN has acknowledged my two Colleen Lopez Blouse returns that were recorded as delivered to the dock on September 4, 2024. I am guessing that they finally got to the bottom of that tall stack. Thank you, HSN. I truly appreciate it. My husband said that I should because he returned an item to a different company and it took one month to receive a credit. These two Colleen Lopez blouses were shipped together, so I shipped them back together (in the same envelope they came in) using the USPS label that I received with them. HSN only charged me one shipping charge (package under 5 lbs). *** However, earlier on July 18, 2024, when I purchased two DG2 blouses, they shipped them together and when I returned them, I shipped them back together as they originally came. But instead using the USPS label that HSN had enclosed with the DG2 blouses, I printed out a UPS label (because I prefer UPS over USPS). Guess what! HSN charged me two shipping return fees. So, I am thinking that if HSN sends you a particular label, you better NOT go online and print one. You better use the one that they enclosed. Maybe it was because the USPS label they sent probably had both order numbers recorded on the return label, but the UPS label I printed only had one of the order numbers recorded on the label??? Needless to say, I was NOT happy to be charged twice (package under 5 lbs). I don’t care if I happened to print out the UPS label instead using the USPS label that came with the merchandise, it was still WRONG to charge two return fees for one package under 5 lbs. especially when the merchandise originally came in ONE package! I will not be buying any more Colleen Lopez blouses. I probably will not be purchasing any more Diane Gilman tops neither. I really like HSN, but hate returning stuff! Just thought I would give everyone the benefit of my experience. Have a Great Week! 🙂

Update on one of my sheet set returns (due to them sending me the wrong set): I checked today (9/11/24) and I was happy that they acknowledged my “FIRST” sheet set return. I sent it via UPS on Friday, August 30, 2024 so considering that they have a mountain of returns, that is not really too bad. The tracking states that they received this return on September 4, 2024. This one was an exchange, so I really am NOT due any money on this one (exchange was written as $0.00). My husband told me that maybe I am a little impatient … lol. He had to return something to another company and it took them a month to acknowledge his return and to give credit. I know it will be a while longer before my second sheet set return (due to them sending me the wrong set AGAIN) gets acknowledged as I sent it via UPS on Friday, September 6, 2024. They will need to credit me for this second sheet set return as the Rep could only reorder by putting by charging me as they are only allowed to do one exchange per item. Now, my blouses were sent back in one envelope (just as they came) via United States Postal Service on Thursday, August 29, 2024 and arrived at their dock on September 4, 2024. They have not been acknowledged as “RETURNED” as of yet. (Hope they acknowledge them soon as they were ill-fitting, but absolutely NOT cheap moneywise).
The only reason I wanted to write this update is so maybe it can help someone else get an idea of how much time it generally takes.

An update to my many updates above. Finally Sync Bank said it had my returns and such amended. Ha! They promised to refund another $206 an this next billing. They did not. So I am missing about $206 plus of return credit. I keep all documentation, return shipping, return credit by HSN and then I check over to Sync Bank. I have spent hours going over all this –with my own records and with HSN and then with useless Sync Bank. So as someone suggested above–I will use one of my other credit cards for purchases (if any) and only if HSN is going to give me a lump of gold to use their card on a super special. It would take a large lump of gold!! Ha! But that will be VERY rare. At least other credit card companies will take the return and credit it in a timely manner. I have had numerous credit cards over many years with 99% great experiences. This HSN credit bank is the absolute pits and is going to lose so much business for HSN. We just cannot afford these sort of additional costs to our already limited spending power.

HSN received my returns approximately five or six days ago. I always keep documentation. I can only imagine the mountain of returns that they incur. However, if I do not receive credit for these returns yet so within another week or two (I consider that “patient”), I will be contacting HSN. I will be more than happy to provide them with PROOF OF DELIVERY for each return package. One of the returns that was delivered was their error. I ordered a bedsheet set and the wrong color/print was sent. The other day I received the “replacement” and it was ONCE AGAIN the wrong color/print, so I had to call HSN and send that one back as well. That particular one has not been delivered yet, but I will be checking (using the tracking number that is printed on the copy of the return label utilized). The other package that I returned to HSN contained two Colleen Lopez blouses. I ordered my usual size, but these blouses have the weirdest fit. Most women are not shaped the way these blouses are made. I am not keeping blouses that I cannot wear and cost about $50 each plus postage and tax. Will not be ordering anymore Colleen Lopez clothing. No way! In conclusion, I will deal with HSN and, hopefully, not have to deal with Synchrony. Synchrony is not what I call a consumer-friendly bank. Husband had a card for a home improvement store (starts with “L”) and Synchrony ticked him off so bad that he ended up cutting up that credit card …. but that’s another story by itself. Lol! I might be doing the same before it’s over? Don’t know yet.

Lol … just realized I posted twice …. one yesterday and one today. Oh, well! Consider the second posting an update! 🙂

Thanks for the posts above. I tracked my returns to HSN. HSN received my returns four days ago. I realize that it must take some time to go through the returns in order to give credit to the customer; however, I am rather annoyed because one of the returns was definitely due to receiving the wrong item (received solid coral pink twin sheet set instead of the scallop print ordered). Not only did it happen once, but it happened TWICE. When I received the so-called replacement, solid coral pink was sent AGAIN! That just happened the day before yesterday. Yesterday I mailed that so called replacement back and it hasn’t had a chance to reach the warehouse yet, but I will be gathering documentation and print proof of delivery when delivery happens. I called HSN.com when they messed up the second time and spoke to a rep again. She said an exchange on an item could only be done once (as per HSN’s rules) so when she reordered, she charged me (was not $0); however, she said she made a notation to credit me once my return was processed and that there should be no fee for the label (since I was not at fault). Well, I hope not as it was not my error. I also sent back two blouses as they were ill-fitting and way too short although I ordered the correct size. The blouses came in one envelope and I sent them back in one envelope. I agree that what they are going to charge/deduct from my return credit is a bit much. I now wonder if HSN plans to charge me a label fee for each of the two blouses. If they do, I am going to complain because these blouses went back in one package just as they came. I can understand ONE label fee, but NOT two. I will not be purchasing Colleen Lopez OR Diane Gilman tops anymore. The return label charge is just too much money to justify it. I will just have to “miss out” on the mentioned brands for tops. Oh, well! They don’t seem to work for me anyhow.

Nowadays I only place orders on free shipping days or on items where shipping is free.
Synchrony Bank has the highest interest rates out there and now they charge $1.99 for paper statements. I wish HSN would finance their card with a better bank. Once an HSN card balance gets somewhat high the monthly payment is almost as much as the interest. Loan shark comes to mind every time I get a bill from HSN. I have now switched my payment option to a different account so I can pay the HSN card off and cancel it. I prefer to not use pre-paid return labels because I want to confirm that I received the entire refund on my statement. It is unsettling to have to pay several dollars to return an item that was shipped to me for free. If HSN would charge less to return items that would be nice. If I purchase a clearance item w/free shipping and then return it, I should not be charged anymore than $3.50 for a pre- paid label. -
Synchrony has created a lot of havoc with a lot of issues recently. I have the HSN card but now very very rarely use it unless there’s an incredible sale discount. I use my own bank card which gives me 2% back on all purchases for 99% of my orders. I think it’s time HSN considered switching their card to a bank other than Sychrony.

As a follow up to my previous posts–Synchrony Bank has yet to credit my HSN account with the $206 dollars. And that is not the total amount they should be putting back on my account. I am going to pay off my account (including the $206 dollars) and that is it for HSN and me. Very sad as I have been a customer…a good customer for almost 30 years. This is a terrible business model and a terrible mechanism for crediting a return.

Follow up Follow up to my previous posts. On the synchrony site, I have filled out all the questions on the Dispute Forms at Sync Bank site for EACH of the returned items that I am not getting return credit for. Lucky I keep ALL the return documentation because they ask for it all. Entering ALL the UPS numbers (they are long), return date, item numbers. Took a lot of time however I did it as I eep all documentation. I did get an answer from them that they returned interest rates, shipping back, etc to me buy I will still have to wait for my $206 return ( there should be more) –again–WAIT FOR WHAT? So I will not pay the 206$ right now and wait as they suggested until they finally credit my account. It just shows that this remains on my account until the Sync Bank decides to give me credit. But I will pay the rest of my HSN card off and not use it again. If you use something like American Express they would come to your assistance with this nonsense.

I am doing a follow up post on my previous posts regarding the time needed to get a complete return on my HSN account. 2 days ago I spent a good 45-60 minutes on the phone with Synchrony Bank. Of course you cannot easily get a direct voice to voice conversation with Synchrony but I managed to get a very nice HSN customer Service rep to move me over to a Synchrony rep. Is is only on the Snyc account that you can get a full listing of your purchased items and those returned. Explained to Sync that I have a listing of items that were listed as returned by HSN site but still not being given “credit” for them on the Sync bank site. LONG STORY short Sync holds on to your returned item credits until a certain time of the month–before the monthly billing. I guess they are collecting more interest on me. I have returned the items, HSN has given me credit and the bank is holding the credit. Really? I am anxiously awaiting August 11 when I see if they give me credit for my returned items at the Sync bank. This is the strangest thing.

So what is the update to my shipping outrage. I received that massive box once they held my orders to be able to ship them together no matter what date I ordered. 3 days later I returned nearly everything – all the clothes and some SB item. So received clothes on 7/18. Returned everything on 7/23. Got confirmation emails that returns are on their way. Tracked UPS – they received the box of returns on 7/29 in the morning. It is now 8/5 and no returns have been processed!!! I am a very very very long time HSN customer. And a loyal QVC customer. However since QVC acquired HSN – HSN has changed. Not for the better.

Today I am going to work with customer Service to totally pay off my HSN card. This sounds silly but it takes so long to get credit for returned items that it is difficult to figure out what you actually totally owe. I have looked on the HSN website and the closest I can find is to track your “return” by the UPS shipping number. If you have multiple things being returned in a return box you have a real complication-which is what I have. Even if your returned item is listed on your order listing and it says “returned” it does not mean you have been given credit for it as that takes 3-5 MORE days. I have found it takes MORE than 3-5 days. In fact if you do not call it might not be EVER. So today I will spend a good deal of time with customer service going through my returns, getting them seriously credited to my HSN account and then pay it off entirely. Then do not order from them. Let the account totally clear. I am a loyal customer since 1997. Sad.

I am fuming. I was charged shipping on each individual item. HSN did not ship until they collected all the orders and shipped them all together in one ridiculously huge box that was half empty, filled with tons and tons of packing pillows. The box was delivered ripped open and then partially taped up. With a huge rip left in the side of the box. What was I charged in shipping charges for this one box? $40.50!!!!
And I’ll be charged for anything I return! The Annual Amazon Prime charge now seems cheap in comparison for free shipping.
What was inside the box? Samantha Brown scarves, Samantha Brown small packing accessory items, 2 skirts, a couple of jackets. And tons and tons of packing air pillows to fill up the rest of the box!!
Consequence – no longer can order a bunch of items to see what will work or look good on. Too costly. Especially when add the return charge. A lot of money for privilege of seeing if you like an item enough to keep.

If HSN doesn’t wise up they will be out of business. There are so many alternatives now for people to be able shop. I for one am no longer buying from them. I have been with them from day one, but no longer. They have outlived their relevance in today’s market.
