Maximum Essential Omega 3
I have discovered that this Omega 3 has significantly raised my cholesterol levels (to 280 from 190) my doctor was concerned but statins were terrible for me, so i stopped taking the Omega 3. A new prescription product, Vascepa, says it avoids this problem and claims to be best but it disagrees with Andrew’s claims. It is all EPA and expensive. I’d like to know Andrew’s opinion.

Hello Fasted, your first comment is suggesting that Andrew’s fish oil, Maximum Essential Omega 3 raised your cholesterol. Then above you go into detail about another brand, etc. There is no way that I could think of that Andrew’s fish oil could raise someone’s cholesterol. I would personally never take statins!!! There are too many health problems related to these meds! I can say this as a customer of Andrew Lessman but he can’t legally say many things like giving you personal medical advice, etc.
Lowering your cholesterol shouldn’t be expensive or complicated. I would exercise at least 4 days a week, eat lots of veggies, fresh or frozen, same with fruit, smoothies are great! Cut way down on sugar, meat, eat beans and whole grains, a little poultry if you want and fish. Take 1 or 2 of Andrew’s fish oil. Whatever you can afford. His COQ10 you should try and get as it’s excellent for your heart and cholesterol. Statins rob you of this. When it comes on special you should get a huge bottle.

I am sorry if you think i am negative about Andrews products. I am a true believer! I am hoping to get Andrew’s opinion about a prescription Omega 3. I smell a rat and would like some guidance from above lol
Also
I take an extensive array of Lessman supplements and recommend to all! And I am not sure induced high Cholesterol is a real issue. So, i would like Andrew’s opinion Merry Christmas to all!!

Your best bet would be to contact the Procap Laboratories directly. The phone number is toll free. 1-800-800-1200. There is also a web site: procapslabs.com As I said before his staff is very helpful and may be able to answer your questions on prescription drugs. I have no idea if Andrew reads the threads. As I mentioned it would be wise to contact procaps. I have had some questions in the past and I found them to be extremely helpful.

Well, I cannot absolutely blame Omega 3 since doctors don’t provide much help. My cholesterol was 190 (went up to 260) before I got serious with fish oil; I had taken it erratically until I found Andrew’s which I love. It is one of the supplements that I found works for me My little aches and pains were gone like I got a lube job lol. But I have tried everything to lower my C. 6 months with dietician: low fat, veggies, fiber etc. slightly down. Next Doc insisted on statins. Bad news!! My feet swelled big time. So, I saw TV advertisement about Vascepa. Prescription Omega 3 wow! Very expensive, my pharmacist said $320/mo. But it is everything Andrew spoke negatively about: all EPA and ethyl esters. But they added the comment that ordinary Omega 3 might raise your C. So, I stopped 6 months ago and my C dropped to 230, almost there. Next visit in April. So my questions to you all are as follows: A. B. Is induced high C really bad? And I wondered if Andrew would see this

I also wanted to thank all for replys. ” A. ” was a perjoritive that they deleted lol.

I also take Andrew’s Omega 3. I usually take 2 per day and my cholesterol has not been affected. Could it be other factors contributing to the higher levels. Maybe changing your diet to less red meat and more chicken, turkey, fish, etc. and also including more veggies. You may want to contact Pro Caps directly. His customer service team are quite knowledgeable.

I also take 2 Omega 3 every day. 🙂 My numbers are fine.

Oodie, Thanks for your post as I take 2 a day as well. My Doctor recommended that I take these types of supplements (for years) but never specified about 1 or 2. I found 2 works well for me, am and pm.
Posh52, maybe we will need to double our choco nuvo now…
Enjoy the Holidays all!

Taci, I’d GLADLY double my ChocoNuvo intake but my cholesterol is good!

May I ask why you think it is the Andrew Lessman’s Omega 3 that raised your cholesterol? Just curious because I take it also.
