Unprofessionalism
I am presently watching HSN and the topic is Marla Wynn’s Jewelry and Helen Keaney is the hostess. At the beginning of the show the hostess constantly kept saying the jewelry she had brought prior to the showing. I find this to be very unprofessional, and thru out the presentation kept talking about the pieces of jewelry she own by Marla. This should not be allowed. It is definitely a turn-off and HSN should not allow it.

Valerie, I take the opposite view. I love it when a host says she bought the item. Who better to attest to its color, the sparkle, the fit, the easy cleaning, etc.. It’s nothing like first hand knowledge to help with your decision whatever that would be.

I think it could be very useful to know that the show host likes the jewelry line enough to own it…..

Well, if this were in the office place, I would agree it’s unprofessional, but the host’s job is to sell, so what better way to sell than to give a personal testimony.
