QVC
I used to call myself The Queen of QVC before I discovered HSN. I haven’t bought anything from QVC in years. I remember I used to like Susan Graver, Joan Rivers, and Quacker Factory. Who do all of you like at QVC now? Who is comparable to Marla Wynne? Who has sizing you can count on?

it’s so nice to hear from ladies who still like to dress in casual, but not sloppy clothes. For the life of me i still don’t get those jeans with rips and holes in them! I assume this trend was started by young celebrities? The trouble with following “trends” is that next year a new one will begin and you’re stuck with “yesterday’s fashion”. Classics are the best. Bob Mackie’s designs are lovely but I saw a post somewhere that called his fashions “old lady clothes”! Really? Anyway, to each his/her own, and that includes your fashion style.

I only watch David Venable. The others hosts get on my nerves after a few minutes and I have to change the channel.
I do watch Tweak’d by Nature and Beekman when they are on QVC just to see what is “exclusive” over there that we can’t have here.

Hi Pamlou, No one on QVC compares to Marla Wynne. They have no one with the same quality. Belle by Kim Gravel has comfortable, very casual clothes, but nothing as nice as Marla’s clothes. I find the other’s you mentioned are cut very matronly most of the time and do nothing for me. I miss when HSN had more modern and famous designers. I can usually count on Marla Wynne and Belle as I am always a medium for tops and jackets and an 8 in the bottoms. I hardly ever watch HSN anymore, only for Marla, Rarities and Heidi Daus ( although I own over a 1000 of her pieces and prefer when she designed more elaborate pave pieces versus the large plain stones she uses now.).

@jadiva, WOW, 1,000 pieces of Heidi! And I thought i had a lot of jewelry. Whenever I start thinking I have too much jewelry or clothes or shoes, I can always find somebody here who has more. I guess that’s one of the reasons I love it here so much. I don’t know anybody else in real life who likes online shopping as much as I do. Nobody I know likes to dress any more. So far I haven’t bought any of Marla’s jewelry, though I do like some of the pieces she matches to her outfits. I have so much Heidi that jewelry is the last thing I need to buy.

@pamlou, I dress for myself and my husband. When we go out to dinner we always dress nice. I even wear a caftan at home with my jewelry (mostly Rarities, because its lighter than Heidi’s). I hate when you go to an expensive restaurant for dinner and the people next to you dress like they are going to an afternoon bbq in their backyard. You and I need to keep being us regardless of how other people dress. I used to live in Texas, but moved recently to Tucson to a 55 plus active community. I love it.

I love clothes….period, and I like looking nice. i am 65 years old and I am loving clothes more than ever. I feel that people have gotten too casual in their dressing, especially with designers doing so many different types of jeans…example, Diane Gilman, to name one. Jeans have their place, but shouldn’t go everywhere. I still like Dennis Basso, and Bob Mackie is so classy.

@jadiva, a few years ago you sent me a picture of you all dressed to the nines in a restaurant. It was your anniversary and I believe your husband had bought you a Heidi statement piece. You looked so elegant and you owned that jewelry. A lot of women couldn’t have carried off that necklace but you certainly did. I like that you seem so self confident. I’m trying to wear my jewelry more and with my caftans, too. I hope you have other ladies who feel the same way you do about dressing. Here, everybody is dressed to go to the bbq you mentioned 🙂
