Models
I am so happy that HSN is now including larger size ladies modeling their different designers. It’s about time they realized not every woman is a size 6 or 8!! My only complaint is that they don’t seem to correctly size their models? Often the poor models appear to be in one or two sizes too small. HSN has very pretty, attractive ladies and they deserve to be wearing their correct sizes. Is it the stylists who provide the sizes shown? Are the sizes limited? Just wondering.

I’m so glad it isn’t only me that noticed this. I didn’t want to mention it, in case someone took it the wrong way.
Thank you.

I agree – the sizing is terrible. Actually makes the clothes look cheap.

tillyboy, you sure said it 100%. I was watching Marla Wynne’s sweater knit pants and the poor plus sized model had on such a tight garment that I could see her leg bumps in the thigh area and I could see she had on a Spanx like to the knee undergarment because the crease where it stopped showed through the pant. I thought how nice she would look one size larger. I believe the reason the models no longer turn around slowly and pause to show the back or show the actual waist band is the lower quality of the garments. They will turn once or twice but quickly. Maybe I am crazy but I remember the designers showing us the rear few and talking about it, the pocket placement, the correct fit, etc. I also notice that many of the models are wearing 3 pieces (jackets, sweaters) and you simply can’t see how the rear looks or the thighs pull. Many that are in leggings have the wrinkles or rolls across, side to side, in the thigh area that shows the garment is simply too tight. I am interested in an item and then watch them not show the rear or how tight the garment is on the model and then I decide something is wrong with that garment quality and won’t buy.

I could not agree more about the models being absolutely stuffed into Iman’s TSV jeans yesterday. The model wearing the white ones said at one point that she’s usually a medium but was wearing a 4. They were so tight that the zipper would not lie flat. Many other models were in jeans 1-3 sizes too small.
I don’t like how tight skinny jeans are below the knee and so got the straight leg. It was tough to figure out how the bottom portion would be on someone wearing the correct size when most of them were wearing them insanely tight. Just about all of the models had on the wrong size.

Today the models wearing the white jeans look like they will explode if they sit down.
It is EXTREMELY unflattering to their figures and creates wrinkles in places that should be looser.I can’t believe that Iman does not address that since she stresses the importance of fit in designing her jeans.

What happened to Ingrid Ryan? Has she left Hsn? I watch all the time and she was one of the best in showcasing the clothes by pointing out the features, whereas some models just stand in one spot not turning on anything. I loved her and especially modeling For the Iman line.

Yes I agree with you. I too am a plus size woman and I enjoy seeing like sized models.
