Marla Wynne Quality & Sizing
Firstly I’d like to say that I have purchased quite a few Marla Wynne items. In fact my closet is about 1/3 Marla Wynne. It is aways a challenge because I am a size 2 and if you aren’t right on it and order ahead you will not be able to purchase the smaller sizes. Here is my first question for Marla:
1. WHY don’t you have more smaller sizes ready when you launch? I am an XS but have to purchase a Small almost every single time because XS has sold out BEFORE your presentation!! NOT right.
Next, the quality has been deteriorating as well as the workmanship. Crooked sewing that is highly noticeable, pulls in the sweaters, in fact EVERY sweater I have purchased has a pull in it or I had to do a repair. Button quality is poor and getting worse on many items. Purchased the mesh blazer and really PLASTIC buttons!! Crooked seams and a big thick hem machine sewn and BOTH jackets I purchased had crooked stitching on the hems and the fabric doesn’t lie flat because of the poor workmanship. SO SO disappointed. It’s all about the money apparently. Second question:
2. What has happened to your quality control?
I worked for over 30 years as a costumer for Paramount Studios. I am a professional seamstress and I know European tailoring. I know when a garment is made well. Unfortunately the quality and workmanship on Marla Wynne clothes is beginning to suffer.
It is too bad. For the prices that are being charged, the quality needs to be like it was when she first came to HSN.
No matter how you try to spin it, rayon is a cheap fabric, period.
I think Marla’s clothes are overpriced and a little matronly but when she knocks it out she really knocks it out. I only buy her knitwear. Marla did a collaboration with Chico’s and a lot of the items are still available on clearance if you want to check it out and see if they have smaller sizes available.
MADE IN CHINAAAA🤣
I agree forests220. It takes more fabric for the bigger sizes!! It would be cost effective for her to redo her sizing. I always get an xs if I can and they are always big. It is a shame.
The flatter fit pants are not a good fit if you have fuller thighs that is for sure. You would think they would choose different models for those. I think since she used to be heavy she is still in that mindset. Not all of us need to hide everything or want to! I agree if she wants to design for plus sizes then have plus sizes and reasonable sizing for those of us that are regular sizing.
I agree with you. My issue with her clothes, particularly in oversized items, is the sizing. It seems more and more clothing is available in the 3 and 4 x sizes while Marla’s smallest size is XS. I ordered the TS in XS. I really thought it would be too small for me but it fit without the “billowing look” that the smaller hosts were wearing(and really was much too large on them). If Marla can design clothing for the 3 and 4X sizes she should also make them available in XXS. This is especially for Petites- like my sister who tried on the XS and was swimming in it. Also, since the price is the same regardless of size the larger sizes are getting more for their money. If Marla wants to design clothes for the Apple shape in large sizes she should just come out and admit it and smaller sizes will look elsewhere. I will also say the flatter fit pants worn by the models always look too tight in the thighs and crotches- not flattering at all.
