Inconsistent sizing DG2 Jeans
I am having so many problems with orders of Diane Gilman jeans. Two orders recently, HSN sent the wrong jean and then the wrong color. What I am into now is the virtual stretch jean. However, I am finding her jeans vary in the same item number and size. I just received the virtual stretch boot cut in chambray, and the legs are skin tight. I have same jean in the same size so compared side by side. The legs were 1.00 inch narrower! I find this is happening in the classic stretch too. About ready to call it quits because I never know what version is going to come to me. Is no one checking quality control for this brand anymore?

I am having the same problem! I have ordered the exact jean, same size & one was okay, still too tight at ankle & I don’t have big ankles, & the other one I couldn’t get over my hips. I am sick of exchanging & having to call customer service to get a refund on s & h! o, I am taking a break! Plus her latest jeans are ankle jeans with tall being 29 1/2 inches. They just look like I bought jeans that are too short onme. No thank you!

I am glad I’m not the only one. It’s crazy how different colors in the same size can fit so differently! I am waiting for my returns to be refunded. I have been trying to exchange one pair, but there are very few sizes to choose from. So much for free exchanges!

I’m so glad you posted this. I was considering trying DG2 for the first time. Not a chance now. I’m canceling my order. Thx!

This is the reason why I quit ordering DG Jeans. Very inconsistent sizing, length too. The black fads after several washing, also some fabrics STINK! Every type of her jeans are sized different, depending on the fabric. Some fit really tight, others fight loose. Her clothing lined change when it became really popular. Quality went down. It’s now about making money and NOT having a really good line of clothes…….it’s sad. You can find better quality and the price is better at Kohl’s, Target, Kmart, Sears, even Walmart.

It’s particularly difficult when Diane wears a size that is clearly WAY TOO SMALL for her. I don’t know what that was all about…body dismorphia or just age disillusionment. She looked like a sausage in her cargos and they were actually really cute. People see that, hear that you can size down and don’t know what to think. I am a small/medium or an 8 in DG2, but she tells people who are my size that they are an XS. Uh. No. Just. NO. 5’2″, Small bones but a hefty 155 lbs. Shop. Your. Size.

Sharon818😃 -about CRIED reading, THANK U THANK U! I’m 52; a TRUE Petite XS; and at 4ft8 98lbs 34/25/35-Diane/DG2 REALLY INSULTS ME! We all have our preferences, BUT CANT EVEN ORDER (FIT-I EXPECT to hem, lol) DG2 WHEN DESIGNER HERSELF SAYS ORDER DOWN & THERE’S NIL FOR (true) P/XS ‘to’ order! WHAT ABOUT US? WE ARE 100% LEFT OUT-AS IF WE’RE NONEXISTENT! OR, ARE WE JUST UNDESIRED AS CUSTOMERS? — **PAYING** CUSTOMERS! FRUSTRATING, ANGERING, INSULTING… AND DISCRIMINATING! AGREE 100% -Diane DEF IS NOT an XS, PERIOD! Even WITH her Spanx! NOT being CRUEL-CRUEL IS when a host/Designer says, “for today’s real women w/real curves”, or a reviewer is INSENSITIVE in remarks like “UNDERSIZED”, “preteen”, “boy body”, “stick figures”, etc… What if I were not so thoughtful before writing? I’ll tell you-I’D BE PERM BANNED FROM WRITING REVIEWS! I’m so sorry, I’m VENTING-BUT I’m GRATEFUL TO READ WHAT YOU’VE STATED! I HONESTLY, SINCERELY, HUMBLY… THANK ‘YOU’! 💛😃
Ps: been w/HSN 20yrs-closet FULL of DOZENS & DOZENS of DG2 jeans/bottoms. Also AGREE… last 4yrs+ JUST NOT THE SAME! DG2 is NOW 1) INCONSISTENT SIZING 2)LACKING QUALITY 3) Considering 1&2 = OVERPRICED NOW TOO! JUST KEEPING IT REAL… -
Oh, one more thing… When’s the last time ANYONE went in a Brick&Mortar store… AND SMELLED THAT RANK STENCH THAT COMES FROM SOME OF THESE ONLINE VENDORS’ ITEMS??? Never never NEVER! Truly believe IT’S A FIRE HAZARD! I KNOW… I wouldn’t walk 10ft in the door! Can you imagine? Most of us have received a STINKY item, CAN YOU IMAGINE A STORE FULL OF SAME STINKY ITEMS? TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Yet it continues… WHY?
ON A POSITIVE😃—I AM TRULY RELIEVED and HAPPY DIANE IS DOING WELL! I prayed, MANY prayed, AND OUR PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED. GOD BLESS ALL IN NEED 💛💛

Years ago, I bought DG2 and have been very pleased – I sized down and I’m still waiting to fit into them, but they were made differently than what she is selling presently.
I would never buy a skinny jean, I am and have never been skinny and wouldn’t like something clinging to every curve no matter how much stretch it has.
Her sizing has been inconsistent for some time – someone should mention it to her mfg. group.

Does Diane read any of these comments. She needs to wake up and smell the roses and get her sizing correct.

tylercat, I perused some posts here, but chose to respond to yours, as it is just so sweet, simple and honest. Sadly, D does know the sizing issues. I own dozens of her jeans from 20 yrs ago when she was on top of everything. Sadly as companies grow owners become arrogant and hire a million dollar company to fix the issue. She certainly is not going to visit a third world country to supervise sizing when she could be touring Paris first class all the way, and just design. I knew this was her solution to hire someone to fix it, when her prices began increasing-a lot. Next clue was when I saw the newest item-the tri size jean? what the ? Hmm did anyone else see that prior to selling on tv there were 20 5 star reviews-all of which were women who had received the jeans free? Well, now she is gettin’ bit in the , as there are 72 -, 1 star reviews. Only 42 5 star, remember tho 20 of them from gals receiving the free jeans. So much for raising our prices to pay for company to fix it, huh? I see businesses as a triangle. Wide with work at the bottom till you rise to the wee teeny tiny top. She doesnt realize she has lost touch with the reality and at that pinnacle it is so very easy to fall down. In her arrogance, she forgets although she is dubbed the queen, there are many lil princesses who work really hard in control of every aspect of their business, and charging way less for pretty much the same amount of denim. Now, for anyone ready to dump on me. I shall say @ 70, I have saved some of her works of art that no longer fit, just in case I can lose 20#. Absolutely gorgeous workmanship, articulated fit. The black not quite bells, with gorgeous thin shades of gray/white ribbon woven into the bottoms. When glass stones were set with metal grommets, not glued on plastic bits that come off in the wash. I have found a jean princess who so far has consistent sizing, & still searching for the perfect fit/style for me. I am a bit sad because I wont watch Diane anymore lest I be tempted,to purchase, but also the decor now is not as lovely as it used to be. She wants to “create” forgetting some simple/elegant/beautifully decorated styles could make a comeback. Yeah, I remember when. I figure these new princess working so hard to build are good to go for a while-until they reach the top & forget how hard to get there. For me, ha ha, I shall be in heaven by then where everything I “order” shall fit perfectly and make me look young again. lol for you young ones. Dont settle. Check out the up & coming princesses.

I truly love many of my many DG2 jeans but I hear you all loud and clear. Some of my jeans fit far better than others of the same size. Her jeans sizes vary according to color which should be a solvable problem. If it’s not solvable, then at least tell us how each color fits rather than have us find out in the unhappy reviews. And please Diane, stop telling us you wear these crazy small sizes when you also tell us you have a 34 or 35″ waist. My waist is almost 34″ and the size 10 fits me snugly in the waist. I am shaped much like Diane with slim hips and legs. Her comments confuse rather than enlighten the buyer.

I agree with all of you. You just can’t believe when the hosts tell us the size they are allegedly wearing…including DG. I have found the same problem with other designers, including Iman. The return process is timely and expensive, so we customers are at a definite disadvantage. Guess the only way to solve this sizing problem is to complain, and limit buying HSN clothes.
-
I am having the same problem with her shorts. I have always wore either a large or x-large depending on the amount of stretch in them. The last couple of shorts that I purchased were way to tight and by the time I tried them on. it was past the return date as I bought them with me on vacation. Diane certainly needs to check her quality control. I do hope that someone from HSN reads these e=mails,

The sizing is way off on the DG2 TS jeggings from a few days ago. I ordered the size according to the measurements given and they are much too big. I could probably size down a couple of sizes, maybe more, and I don’t mean within the so-called trifit, I mean by actual pairs of jeggings. The fit is off as well. The back is too low, the front is too high, to the point where it seems like they are almost backwards, and maybe that is because they are much too big. I can’t leave a review yet because I have to wait 5 days. I don’t need 5 days to know how wrong these are, and everything is fresh in my mind right now.

I just received 2 pairs of DG2 Infinity jeans. I wear a LG in Diane’s jeans and an XL in the stores or a 14-16. Never have I worn an 18..sooo…I ordered the infinity jeans in the 14-16-18 range. This is something new that she came up with that is supposed to fit with your size if you lose weight or gain a few pounds. When I opened them I knew right away that these looked like a size 6. But all the hype said they stretch with you and are her most stretchy jeans. Squeezed into them(heard a couple pops in the seams) and felt like a sausage. Checked to make sure they were the right size..Yep, they were marked 14-18. Didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Such false advertising..Don’t they learn that these will be returned and shouldn’t I learn by now not to believe (hoping against hope) all their hype and lies!!!

I’ve been trying to review the TSV and the system states I haven’t purchased the item. The CS rep didn’t know how to help so I’ve been unable to post a review. I wear a 4 or 6 in jeans, so of course I ordered the 2– 4–6. I don’t even know how this is possible, but they were loose in the back(waist), tight in the front(waist), baggy in the thighs and longer than the stated length. I’m wondering how many other people have been unable to write reviews 🤔.

I ordered 2 different sizes in 2 colors. One was huge & the smaller size was great in the hip & waist, but the knees were tight! The material was awful!

I just bought 2 different sizes of her classic bootcut I have gained weight due to waiting for knee surgery. One a 16W & one an 18W. The 16W is bigger than the 18W. his is so frusrating. This started before Covid. The material since Covid is not the same.
