Iman is Back This Weekend!

I’m not thrilled with the t-shirt set TS either. I think the set is priced too high. From the Global chic I have liked the peacock pants and leopard scarf. In the City Chic I got 2 of the dome handbags and the duster. I’m looking forward to her fall and winter collections.

Were you watching earlier this morning when model Emily had on the light blue tee? It had a weird pull or gathering up under her arm. There is something about the fit that seems off to me. I like you, like the dome purse. I currently have the blue in my cart…trying to decide.

I noticed the same thing. The fit was “off” on some of the models. The necklace looked like the best part of the deal.

Hi all, I wanted to interject my humble opinion. The material she’s using now is not the same as her previous collection. It’s softer with a micro texture to it. There’s more stretch as well (both directions but one direction more than the other).

If you’re concerned about the fit for larger busts, the only way to get a good fit would be with princess seams, however, those also accent the entire torso. So if you have that midlife shift in abdominal weight placement it is more accented. The dolmen sleeve is the happy medium between princess cut and regular Tees. I think the problem with the fit on the current larger busts models are they are wearing one size down because it looks like they’ve lost weight (YAY for them!!!) and they chose the smaller size tops that hugs the mid section to show off the hour glass shape.

When compared to Slinky, the material is not the same. The majority of Slinky fabric does have stretch but not as much as this, nor is Slinky as soft as this new fabric. Also, Slinky material is not that breathable. If you perspire in 85F and high humidity weather you can’t wear Slinky. The sweat really shows through. This material is breathable allowing for the perspiration to dissipate rapidly and discretely.

I can also say the Slinky Tees I have are not finished like these. The Slinky neck line has a simple turned over finished edge whereas Iman’s is finished with a binding. I got one season of wearing the Slinky Tees in before the stitching started to come apart at all finished edges. It’s a bit embarrassing when you’re in a meeting at work and notice the hem falling apart or that rogue long thread that gets hooked on something and starts to unravel. This isn’t a knock against Slinky at all as I have a lot from that line as well. I just wanted to let the community know my opinion on the differences between the two.

Lastly, the creme de la creme, this fabric is machine wash and dry. What I have so far from last month have been through several cycles of laundering and everything still looks like I just received it.

Excellent points Angie! I ended up getting the TS after all because I did like the colors. I hope my skepticism is ill founded. I’ll let you know how I like it! I’m really enjoying Iman’s Skype visits. She seems very upbeat.

Hi Mary, I hope you like them when they arrive. I am anxiously awaiting for mine. I also purchased the purse.
I noticed last night on a close up of the necklace the texture of the yellow T. It looked exactly like the yellow tank I purchased last month. Then they kept referring to the softness. That’s when I figured out it must be the same material and will stretch in both directions. Enjoy!

I’m wondering if fit is going to be a problem with this tee especially for bustier women? I’m concerned with pulling across the chest and it having a weird fit underneath the arms due to cut. I don’t know, I like the skinny jeans with the zipper but this tee and the tie-sleeve jacket, 689-891 is channeling Slinky to me.
