Thanks for the info….I’ll definitely try this method….not often…but sometimes I get that chemical smell…I am also sensitive…so I am glad to get this tip

Soak it in borax laundry stuff, like 20 mule team borax. At least 30 minutes, I use the bathtub. That is the stuff that removes the chemical smell, not baking soda or vinegar. I do not rinse before washing most of the time.

Then I wash with laundry powder and sometimes an oxygen booster powder (oxy-clean) in the drum. If it still smells after that wash, I wash again.

I am very sensitive and some of this stuff takes two to three washings after first soaking in laundry borax. Good luck. This drives me crazy.

Thanks for the suggestion….but I don’t dry clean my clothes….but I am very sensitive when it comes to odors…so I’ll just continue to air it out….

Do you have a dry cleaner whose business you frequent and who you could ask about this? I never have trouble with the chemical smells. They dissipate over time. However, some people are more sensitive to this.
