Clothing SUCKS!
The clothing line on HsN is absolutely horrible! Looks very homemade and little house on the prairie! Nothing is appealing, you have no designers worth watching. Even G by Guillianas line is looking extremely cheap and no style. Pants are way too short, even on her. And Marla Wynne. Just homely. Seems like the so called designers have lost their zeal! Models are short with pants/jeans too long and they can’t model. Guess I’ll be saving lots of money now and so glad I have plenty in my closet from Iman, Colleen, C Wonder!Fix IT HSN, DO BETTER
-
I was thinking how bad this line is. I have never bought anything from this line but every thing looks frumpy. I didn’t see any comments but now I see I’m not the only one.
-
I never buy clothing from the shopping networks just for the reasons you described. It is nothing but a hassle if something doesn’t stand up to quality, sizing or overall look once on.
So, you are left packing it up after paying s/h and paying back s/h..and waiting for credit. It is a safer bet to order tried and true products like brands one has tested and enjoyed. There is where the value comes in and the hassle leaves.
HSN does a great job with pricing on these items and I love when they come out with new products. -
I am also unhappy with the fashions. I have switched to Susan Graver and Kim Gravel on QVC. I miss iman. I have a closet full of her fashion. Also check out Carla Rock QVC. She is great.
-
I agree. Marla comes out with the same colour ways every season. Same blue, same sand, same black and white. Sad. I was just thinking this week there was nothing of interest. Hope it gets better. I agree with the other person who shared things went down hill when Mindy Grossman left. She and Diane Von Furstenberg’s husband did a great job pulling talent in.

I still love HSN, but I don’t expect to love everything that my favorite designers like. Yeah, they should take chances on design because that is how they stay fresh and different. G designs are based on her thin figure, so I don’t buy too much of her stuff, but I do think that her line is quality.
I still like Marla, but she does not bring back favorites like her old chiffon tops that I tried to buy in every color (tanks and blouses). She had a different take on denim jackets, and I am glad that I purchased the 3 that I have. Her jeans fit like old school and I love them too!
I am not a fan of the daughter either. Maybe Marla should design a line for the younger generation, which her daughter can present.
Besides my loyalty to DG2 (it seems that other designers admire her too since they copy her designs and claim as their own), my love for Chaco Canyon and a couple of others, everyone else is just air filler to me. Also, HSN has better programmers and user-friendly website.

Come on Quarate…Kim Gravel aka overpriced garbage and all is marked up and too expensive. As for HSN..D level celebrities, old models , washed up E host, and a retired Charlie’s Angel from the 1970’s is not cutting it. I can solve your problems regarding the horrible product lines. I worked on Seventh Avenue for years there are Designers that you can collaborate with to produce fantastic product. Offer capsule collections that mean something. It’s not hard.
-
I would just like to correct you on one thing… Jacqueline Smith has been designing clothes for decades. She’s not washed up, her mission has always been to create things that everyone can afford.
-
I agree Jacklyn Smith does a great job better than most on HSN. HSN has 3 decent designers Christie Brinkley, G by Giuliana and Smith not that I like everything just a few from each, but they need more quality designers and PETITES AND TALLS. Whoever called Smith washed up probably is 1/2 her age and doesn’t look 1/2 as good.

Things went downhill when Mindy Grossman left and they bottomed out when QVC took over.
There just aren’t enough good fashion lines being offered here anymore. -
I totally agree with you. I have not bought anything new in awhile from HSN. The last time I ordered something new was from Guilliana when she had her two piece TS. I find myself buying older clothing items that are now on clearance. I have been ordering online and not from QVC because everything is ridiculously expensive. Please listen to us HSN and bring us new items that are not gaudy and crazy expensive.
-
I am saving money by not buying the horrible items HSN is now selling. From the hostesses that either talk too much, dance, acting silly, I could on and on, but I won’t. The clothes are matronly and just not up to snuff. And with Anttony and Iman gone, well that does it for me. And Marla prices are getting ridiculous. Once my account is paid off…I’m DONE,

I wish I didn’t agree, but I do. I don’t know if it’s “fashion” in general getting desperate for some new look, but these short, wide-at-the ankle pants just don’t do it for me. Marla’s TSV (the floral-on-bottom jacket) was not her usual understated and elegant look. Her daughter, while attractive, pleasant, and sensible, is too animated for TV, too jumping-around, which makes me nervous. A lot of this company’s host choices miss the mark because the hosts talk too fast, never stop talking, are too manic for the “cool medium” that TV is, and keep interrupting to give the latest count on how many are left in each size — who cares?! We’ll find out when we place our order! The hard sell is ridiculous, because they fail in giving us critical information about what we cannot see or feel. in person in a store.
The dark-haired woman who was subbing for Marla yesterday (another overly animated rep) never said during the presentation what size she usually wears and what size she was in. That’s critical info. I bought that sweater, but went down a size after reading the reviews. I was anxious about what size to buy — and who wants to go through that when we should be getting every bit of information we need to make a purchase.
I’ve been letting HSN know this for years — we all have — and, frankly, they deserve to go down because of their apparently stubborn refusal to listen to our requests to give us the basic and critical information we need to make a choice. Online Selling 101. They don’t get it. And it’s sad.

I almost bought 918-739 but something is telling me no.I like that it looks fitted, but I think a moto style would have been more my style. And, the price is quite high.
-
@jmc1365, I looked at 918-739. I think it’s pretty, especially on the Elle rep. But, not to be TOO critical (haha), unless you’re very slim-hipped and short-waisted, the length might be too short and the look too boxy and dumpy. It’s mostly nylon and span and looks like the material is “thick,” like the old-fashioned “double knit.” The pockets pucker, and I don’t like the sloppy finishing on their edges. (High price to me, too) Plus, I think those sleeves might stretch out and not snap back. To me, it’s not the kind of jacket you just “throw on” over jeans — uh, I think hard to “dress down” this one. P.S. The poor Elle rep, having to endure the host’s over-the-top enthusiasm. LOL! Now there’s a job I wouldn’t want to have, with the person in your ear, “TELL THEM ONLY 350 LEFT!!”

MsLomo I’m so happy with your opinion and I’m so glad to see around here.Always admire your opinion! That top would probably hit me prefect just don’t care for the price.I wish it had some cute zippers with the lace.I’m so short I need more styles like that.Take Care! I’ve missed you around here.
-
@jmc1365, what a sweet note! Thank you! I remember you from way back, too, and it’s so nice to see you here! I rarely post because of time constraints, and I miss the HSN of the old days.
You might wind up trying that jacket because it sounds like a good fit for your body type. I agree that it’s got to come down (a lot) in price first, and a free-shipping offer wouldn’t hurt, too. 😀

I agree most clothes around here are horrible. They need more styles that flatter a women’s curves.Everything around here makes you look bigger than you are,and has no style. So plain and simple. And, the shoes are just horrid! Not to mention the prices, makes it even worse.Oh, well seems like what used to be is long gone.I do still have some cute stuff I bought here in yrs past that comes out seasonally that I love.Just wish I could find something that catches my eye.
-
Absolutely correct.Pants are all too short and the so called Designers are boring!
-
I’ve hardly ever posted, but Marla’s new styles just aren’t up to what she used to design. I have a closet full of her good designs. I look at the sweater coats, stylish sweaters, the Asian inspired tops and matching cover ups….. just sad to not see more inspiration along those lines.
I loved her premium denim STRAIGHT leg jeans. I’m always looking for a reorder . I have some, I’m afraid of wearing mine out!
I always look at what Marla
has online, but can’t find much I’m even vaguely interested in buying.-
Foxie, I am 100% in agreement with you. I was shocked, when I saw what she was offering. It is not her usual, aesthetic; the lace and cut out look that looks like some completely different designer. Quite frankly it could’ve been denim and Company over on QVC..
-
Yesterday’s Marla Wynne TSV jacket was substandard. She keeps pushing her daughter to the forefront. No personality and doesn’t know much. She let some members of her talented Design staff leave so she could bring in her daughter who needs to do something else with her time.
-
I totally agree with you. Her daughter cannot sell clothing to her mother’s audience, hands down, full stop. Also boring to watch. The line is nowhere near what it used to be. Marla designs for herself, not for the customer.

I totally agree with you.
