USPS Delivery/Return
I placed an order on July 4 and the package was sent by UPS. However UPS handed the package over to USPS in my zip code for delivery. The unit number was not on the package and USPS returned the package to HSN (CA). One cannot update delivery info with USPS. Only with FedEx or UPS. The package was returned to HSN. However HSN has not received the package. I am paying for an item I did not receive and cannot get reshipped/replaced. It has been 19 days since the order was originally placed. Please advise.

You could try writing to the Mods in Community through the Customer Service thread. They are quite helpful. I know people are sick and tired of being told it’s because of the pandemic. But, where I live there is a huge problem where people are out sick leaving a skeleton crew to sort all incoming and outgoing letters, packages, etc., not to mention waiting on customers and then being able to transfer the mail to the right mail person for delivery.

I have seen a place in my usps account that says something about leaving delivery instructions for an item, but that’s all I know about it, that I’ve seen it. Since you have both of those features on ups and usps, if you don’t have it, you could try going to the ups tracking number of your item on the ups website and get the usps tracking number from there, you have to scroll down the page and probably click on something,but it will be there somewhere and then try tracking the usps tracking number from the usps website. Hopefully you can find out something about where your item is. You could always try ringing the post office with the usps tracking number, I’ve had more success from my local one than the general countrywide phone number,which was awful.

Thank you for your response. I have signed up with both. USPS is the problem – no way to update information. UPS transfers packages to USPS for delivery in my zip code.

I hate ups. They’ve caused me no end of problems for many years. I don’t know about your situation now, maybe just wait longer. I’m still waiting for refunds from returns. Sometimes the return has sat somewhere at the local ups or post office for several weeks before going anywhere else, and this was before the virus and in a major city.
For the future, you can sign up for ups my choice and also usps informed delivery that will give you some knowledge about what is going on with the parcel, what the usps surepost tracking number is, more than that info, and more control than knowing nothing.You don’t need to know any tracking numbers when you are signed up for these things. They have them, and you can see them there.
