Tracfone
Don’t waste money with Tracfone because they don’t tell you their SIM cards expire. I found this out when my cell phone wasn’t working. I called their customer service who told me to purchase a new one from them which would come in three days. Well that was it for me. I cut ties with them and switched to TMobile and I have been happy ever since.

You can go to Target. Or Meijer and purchase one for a dollar! No big deal

I found it cheaper to NOT have a Tracfone.
I fell for the sales pitch on HSN. 😠
Good Luck understanding their customer service. They try to speak English, and I believe are learning English when you call. 😵😳😱
You also run the danger of losing your phone number if you run out of minutes.

I have had Tracfones for years and have NEVER had a problem–my smartphone saves me soooo much money versus a regular contract phone–however I mostly just text not talk–texts are $5.00 for 1000–works for me–I am a happy customer

I have a Tracfone.
My mom has a Tracfone.
My mom’s friend has a Tracfone. All purchased from HSN.
Never had a problem with SIM card expiring.
I had a T-Mobile SIM card expire.
I bought a SIM kit and did not use it for over a year.Anyway, my Tracfones are ones that work on the Verizon network.

I’ve been told that Tracfone SIM cards, at least the ones you buy here with the bundle, will expire if you don’t activate within a year.

Bought a phone and picked tracfone because they sell cheaper cards for unlimited talk and text and just 1 GB which was fine cuz at the time I always stayed home and had internet..now that I have a job and need the data well it would never work…even 30 min after putting the card on the phone I could not access the web or Facebook or anything online…I call this morning asking why this is..I was told I already used all my data…I mean like HOW I never could get it to come up when there was no internet service…representative lady says go to your settings then internet then mobile usage so I did and she says this statement, “the only way you can use your data is if this is on” ok that’s great but you see the button was already off and I never knew to go change it so how was the data used? They couldn’t tell me then replied with this one…since you have zero data we cant help you by giving you another gig of it…the only way we could help you and add you some data is if you already have some????? If I had some already Tracfone would I need some then,? I talked to 3 different representatives asking for a survey at the end of the call…none of them knew what I was saying….that’s all I have to say about them..other than writing this for ppl to read and oh yeah I’m going to buy a card from a different company now…one that understands what a survey is and how to help their customers

Tracfone are thieves. They stole my minutes and data more than once. The phone service was lousy, and I couldn’t get the internet, which I tried to get on wifi, and all I got was an error message. My data disappeared more than once without being used. Their customer service is rude and unhelpful, and their attitude is that it’s your tough luck. Terrible. I switched to usmobile because my mobile phone is only my emergency phone and I can pick and choose what I want to have on it

We have 3 Tracfones in the household and have never had an issue with either.Have been using their service a few years now.I always sign into my online account to do any customer service such as activating, transferring,adding,etc..Always keep mobile data turned off until you need it when away from home.Try to turn off all the programs that run automatically in the background also..Most of all go through all the apps and disable the ones you don’t use and set all the others to update manually otherwise your data will be gone quick with all those apps updating automatically. You can add extra data to your account online with no issue.I add a $10 once in awhile otherwise I use my home wifi.

I totally agree. Tracfone is a NIGHTMARE! I used it for 6 months but had to keep buying phone time which in the long run cost more that a contract with T-mobile. I finally went back to T-mobile and it took hours to get my same number transferred back.

I’ve had various phones with TF service (thru Verizon) since 2003, and have never even had to call CS. 🤔 And their sim cards expire? The things you learn on the HSN forum lol!

I’ve had Tracfones for a long time and didn’t know the SIM cards expire. The only think I’ve heard is that you must activate the new phone from HSN, with the bundle, within a year or it will expire. They make it sound, on tv, that you can activate it whenever you want, in the future, but I called HSN to ask about it and they told me you have a year to activate. Once activated, I never heard of one expiring.
