Bought a HP laptop with Windows Home in S mode.
When I received my laptop I went into systems and it shows it is Windows 10 Home. How do I know if it is Windows 10 Home in S mode. Should it not have come preloaded in S mode?

You could try malwarebytes. They have a free version as well as a paid one, and as long as you download it from their website, it should be safe.

If it is in S mode you won’t be able to add any apps that aren’t in the microsoft store, so you could try adding an app from another source and see what happens. If you opt out of S mode you won’t be able to get the S mode back again if you change your mind. If I hadn’t had such a bad experience contacting microsoft, I would probably suggest asking them.

Thank you. Do you have an example of an app. it should not allow?
