"Unredeemed Gift Certificate"
I got a letter today saying that I had an unredeemed gift certificate for $100 and that if I wanted to claim the money I needed to send a copy of a government photo ID to the HSN Tax Department.
I’m not comfortable sending personal information until I’m sure this isn’t some sort of scam. Can you help me out?

@pedede, to check the legitimacy of this and get more information, please contact us by emailing abandonedproperty@hsn.net with your account information.

Hi i received a letter of unclaimed property from QVC is this legit? A gift certificate that was not completely used in 2013?
-
I, too, just received a letter asking me to email government photo ID and sign form to claim gift certificate. Friends and family would surely have told me if they had sent me $100 certificate. I have an account on QVC.com too, and nothing of this kind was noted.
I called the number listed on the letter, left a message and someone replied on my voicemail with the same information about where to send government ID and signed letter. The email domain is hsn.net, which is your vendor portal.
What is going on?

Yes, I do have a QVC account as well as one for HSN.

@pattycake245 Thank you for sending that letter to us. For clarification, do you also have a QVC account?

@pattycake245, I have found that emails were sent out not too long ago regarding Spendable KA$H that may be expiring soon, but I was unable to find anything about letters. I have not seen any activity on your account with KA$H either. If you can scan the letter in and attach it to an email, we would be glad to take a look at it. The correct email address is hsnsocialcare@hsn.com

I can understand your concern, @pattycake245. I’m not sure whether we have recently sent out another letter. I’m checking on that for you and we’ll post here once we have an answer.

It’s 2024 and I just received the same letter as posted above in 2021. Is it still legit?

I completely understand, @dearieab! We did send out some letters advising of unclaimed property. Be sure it is printed on our letterhead and follow the instructions to claim those funds. If you have any further concerns, we would be happy to speak with you directly at 800-933-2887.
