The option to change delivery of package to pickup not available
I just received my latest order Friday October 23 (Ninja Foodi 8-in-1). I have a security gate on my porch but if the package isn’t very large it can be put through the railing or in my mailbox which is pretty large. Knowing this package was going to be large, I would be at work, and it was scheduled to rain I tried to have the delivery changed Thursday morning to pickup from UPS while it was still in transit. I’ve done this with other deliveries including ones from QVC. According to UPS I couldn’t because HSN does not allow a change in delivery. I phoned the next morning to confirm this and was told by the agent this is correct. I was given some analogy about “curve balls…”. This is suppose to be in place for security reasons.
The day of delivery I had to leave work early but before I got home received notice the package had been delivered and to make matters worse it starting storming which is one reason I wanted to pick it up and by the time I made it home the package was wet. I’m only hoping that the item inside didn’t get damaged.
I’ve never had an issue with any package being stolen but I do prefer to pickup certain packages especially when I’m not sure if the contents are visible on the outside. In this case it was.
I don’t think not having the option to change the delivery is necessarily beneficial for security reasons. I’ve had to present my id when picking up packages in the past from UPS. As a result I lost hours at work and then on my way home of course it started raining.

@howlatmoon, I’m terribly sorry you were unable to make changes to the delivery due to the restrictions in place.
