Pending charges on my HSN Card
Hello,
There are 2 pending charges with a date of December 13th for $12.69 and $5.76 on my HSN card that I do not recognize. I called Synchrony bank and was told to call HSN. Called HSN customer service and hold time is over 2 hours. Can you please let me know why these charges were authorized and for what items?

I am a long time loyal customer but never purchased anything not shipping for 4 months? I wondered about the billing of the butterfly bushes on special today… if I purchase it notes will be shipped in June 2022? Question is I never carry a balance and pay monthly and or within 30 days? When will my HSN card be billed? Immediately after placing order? After shipping? After receiving items? Please advise . Thank you-
Hi @woody327, I understand your concern regarding the billing for the butterfly bushes and apologize for the extremely delayed response. We don’t bill a customer for an item until it ships. This is also the case with our seasonal items like plants. Plants ship based on the zone you live in, so naturally, customers in Florida will receive their plants sooner rather than later due to weather conditions. We put an extended delivery date in our system to prevent the order from autocanceling. I hope this helps!

Krissy please explain to me why this mornings purchase has already showing on my credit card. as a purchase and the item is still in processing.? also I was on chat this am trying to get the coupon 180978 to work on my order. Liz with chat said its good” go ahead and submit your order . then I will apply it for you. (that never happened) so back to live chat I went again with Lisa telling me the private sale savings was the coupon. ANOTHER 5 min. on hold she finally told me she would remove the 5.50 for s/h. ….finally I ck my orders and she did. 😉 yay! but it never changed on the card… if I seem somewhat agitated ..I am I noticed on my card 40.00 late fee + 5.?? extra for interest on that. payment posted on 12th instead of 11th. I have never that I know of been late. I make it a point to pay my bills on time. but this surely could not have been anyones fault but mine. 😉 np it was paid. seems to me us loyal customers are getting shown that we do not matter . (out with the old in with the new) If I don’t see a change on my card before 5:00 I will cancel that order. and my future orders will be few and far between . Ive ignored to many things this past 2 years. hoping things would eventually improve. 😉 😉

@renegade007 We’re so sorry for the confusion and the late response. When we offer free shipping and you pay with a credit card, the initial pending charge you see will include shipping, but then when the charge settles and posts to your account, the amount will drop down to what it should be (sans shipping charges). Normally, this occurs within 72 business hours, and the charge should be correct on your end now. Please let us know if it’s not and we’ll look into it.

I ordered an item last night and this morning I was checking my credit card charges as I often do. Lo and behold, HSN apparently charged me $5.95 shipping (in addition to the item’s first flexpay and the tax that is supposed to be charged) and it CLEARLY stated FREE shipping. This is the first time that HSN has done something like this to me. I don’t really understand how they made the mistake. Thank you, cmd1, for your post (even if it’s almost 3 years old, it is helpful). Hopefully, HSN will resolve this issue quickly. If not, I know what to do. I did not use the HSN – Synchrony card because I don’t particularly like Synchrony. I used a Visa (and the bank is NOT Synchrony). I enjoy HSN, but if they start making these type of mistakes on a regular basis, I will not be buying much, if anything. I am glad that your issue was resolved, cmd1, but it is ashamed that you had to go through all of that baloney.

@cmd1 the preauthorization includes shipping. Once it settles, it adjusts to free shipping. The first FlexPay on that item is $8.97 and I am showing that it settled for that amount.
I have emailed a complete breakdown of your open FlexPays for clarification and you will receive it within 2 hours.

I AM ASKING FOR A RELEASE TO BE SENT VIA FAX OR ELECTRONICALLY TO SYNCHRONY BANK TO RELEASE THE FUNDS OF $12.69 FOR THE AMOUNT THAT YOU AUTHORIZED FOR THIS ITEM THAT INCLUDES THE SHIPPING. THE CORRECT AMOUNT HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED AND SETTLED SINCE YESTERDAY. I DO NOT NEED THE FLEXPAY BREAKDOWN, THAT IS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. PLEASE DO NOT SEND THIS TO ME. I HAVE NO NEED FOR IT. I CAN VIEW MY OPENED FLEXPAYS ONLINE.

My issue is resolved. I called the HSN Corporate Office and spoke with a senior at the Presidential Office. He handled this very quickly and efficiently. My money was released right away. Now, I know who to call instead of wasting my time writing on here.

the $12.69 is the amount authorized by HSN including the shipping fee when it was supposed to be free shipping on all items last Friday Dec. 13th for the It Cosmetics Hello Cheekbone item # 691-229 of which the first flex pay should have been $8.97
Please send Synchrony Bank a request ASAP to release the funds OR PLEASE SEND A REVERSAL for the $12.69 as BOTH AMOUNTS ($12.69 AND $8.97) POSTED TODAY are showing.. SO, IAM BEING CHARGED TWICE AND ONE OF THEM INCLUDES SHIPPING FEES.
According to Synchrony bank, the $12.69 will drop off after 8 days if HSN does not collect on the funds. I am NOT willing to wait 8 days. PLEASE SEND A REQUEST TO RELEASE THE FUNDS. when you are advertising free shipping, it should be free shipping and also not to take both amounts from a customer’s account: Correct amount posted and settled and yet the authorized amount including shipping amount is till taken from customer available balance. This is not cool.
